Lee's Road to Recovery
Entry for Tuesday - June 27, 2006
Lee today was a very busy day and my mind will not stop - so I can only imagine what yours is doing - Dad and I were trained to move you with a "belt" that went around your waist - I just stood and watched as I can not seperate the "two" of you - I do not want to take you to the bathroom and hope I never have to - oh, so much more than you think - just thank God you can take care of your own "hinney" as I do not know what dad would do (LOL) - all the "College Street" boys understand this - today I learned that you remembered that Brad and his mom came to see you last night and you told them I was in class - We also learned that we will be going to "Pathways" - which is another rehap - but you live with us and therapy is just across the street - now move again - your dad and I have moved more these last weeks than we have over the last 30 years - but this to is OK - as I see your smile - one step at a time - you get stronger and stronger everyday and so does your mind - it will take years for everything to come together but at least we still have "together" - today you asked about Lauren - I told you she came to see you in Macon - "wonder why?" - she just had to see you - then you asked about several more and of course they all came - then well what about "Holly"? - no she has been in school - OK - wanted to know when you could keep your phone - and I said we would ask? Maybe that is a bit to early - and you agreed and then laughed - when you said "I might not remember who I called and why - just looked as you and then we both laughed -  told you about Pathways and you will get to go and see this on a trip before going - you were fine as long as "does everyone know where that is?"  - well, no not now - but when we go I will let everyone know - told you Judge called and you asked was he in Atlanta in Court - well, today is a very good day as you yourself remembered that he came this way - as I say the sparkle is almost back and you are here - and I do mean "you"  as you are a miracle and you have a story to tell - right now you are just getting the tools to tell this story as many you have in your head - and just can not get the words out right now - but soon - be  good and try hard tomorrow - oh, we said that Sunday we could watch the race - and you said "they better wave at me" - you see you bought tickets at Talladega and you remember so I do hope I can find someone to wave at you as this is one race we do not have "field" tickets - or whatever they are called - but I have until Saturday night to find someone to wave to you - told Jay to take a sheet and put "Hello PeePee" - he just laughed - love mom
