Lee's Road to Recovery
Entry for Tuesday June 6, 2006
Much better day -- they are now giving you morphine - more words - and not MOMS FAVORITE - but now comes - I'm sorry - or help me and now always - Mom & Dad - those words are more important today than they were when you said them at 6 months old - Today you talk more about food, - want Turnips - Coke - Water - your dad is drinking a Coke and with every swallow he takes you say - thanks, thanks Dad - and reach for the bottle   This is good - even if these words are loud - sometimes - Please help me or Where is Joe?? - then you laugh and say Jay - this is ok  - today you are given a cell phone and you hold it and say HELLO - laugh - and then just this blank look - we all here understand one question at a time - let you respond - then ask another question - and I guess we must all stop and smell the Roses - as I believe you are - another meeting in the kitchen - just silent cry - no words - we can read each others thoughts  my legs are hurting and Dad can hardly move - this is why it takes 2 - and with you - you do not like being alone
