Entry for Saturday - June 3, 2006
Will be glad when I get to see you - ready for a full night sleep - not getting over 3 - 3 1/2 hrs at most - just ready to slow down and now I realize that there will always be a fast lane for us - be it a race at Daytona - or life in general - Leaving 70's apt - going to hospital - hospital calls - they are having trouble with you and need us - we go to TCU - and you are not in your room - my legs begin to get weak - we learned they have moved you during the night and no one called - finally make it to room 410 - you have removed all tubes - trek and everything - very agitated - Lee we did not know this - the look of fear takes over the room - you have disconnected everything from your medical world - but the look of fear - Now the roller coaster ride - we have to hold you all day - not by arms or hugs - tie downs - this is so hard - but what a fight - so upset you talk - only one word at a time - but you talk - I smile - you frown - then you smile - then our world is torn - 14 hrs we hold you - the pain I am having is worst than child labor - you are aware - you can understand - I write on paper - HURT ??? WHERE?? and with right hand you write L E E - no one will listen to me - I can see the look of hurt - I tell every nurse over and over - but nothing - this is a face of pain - I know I have been there - -non-stop rolling - never still over 5 minutes, Lee you must rest - Little things is life I have learned today it is not important to have an ironed shirt, or the end of the world if you do not have a hair dryer - Dad and I are completely given out as this has taken a tole on our life - we have to get a sitter to stay the rest of the night - we walk back to the 70's pad - and not a word said - we just stand in the kitchen - looking in to each other's eyes - hold each other and cry - get through supper - and to bed we go ----
