Elk River Dulcimers
We bought this beautiful dulcimer from the Dulcimer House who had a booth at the first annual Cincinnati Dulcimer Celebration on August 8, 2004.
I'm told that the luthier, Joe Sanguinette, is no longer able to build his beautiful instruments.  I'm sure glad I've got one.
The dulcimer was made in 2003.  The back and sides are wormy oak.  The top is koa.  The peg head is purple heart and the fretboard is paduck.  There are mother of pearl inlays on the fretboard.
Our friend, Missy Strothers, knows we suffer from dulcimer acquisition disease.  I admired this dulcimer all day and knew I had to have it.  While Missy was outside Steve and I snuck inside to try and buy the dulcimer without her seeing us.  We were caught with dulcimer in hand!
