| Fisherman hit by Lightning: "I Saw Satan" A Ballad I cast my line into the deep blue sea when fist-sized drops of rain began to fall and a bolt of lightning shot straight down at me I tried to run and found a towering wall The wall surrounded me I knew not how and lightning hit my rod I felt the jolt I cringe when I retell the story now of that fatefull day and jagged silver bolt I looked above me and saw two yellow spheres glowing in the silent evening sky and I heard a voice that masked its owner's years say "Fear not, my friend. Tonight you will not die" The rain then stopped and soon the sky was clear I looked around and saw the walls were gone I thought I'd head to the tavern for a beer when the voice spoke loudly rattling the ground "I saved your life," said the eerie voice "because you've served me many times before and will serve me again against your mortal choice you've killed many fish along this very shore." I frowned and quickly dropped my favorite rod I fled the scene where Satan spoke so grim wishing that instead I beheld God and at the tavern it wasn't beer, but gin |
