white hall day after day
same dusty floor
same grey ceiling
white hall day after day

same dusty floor
kicking dust up in tiny clouds
stale air muffled stomp

white hall day after day
cobwebs dangling
spiders scuttling through the dust
same grey ceiling

slowly cracking walls
windows to rainy sky
same grey ceiling

same dusty floor
slowly cracking walls
a fine layer of dust on concrete
a basement corridor in cold ground
white hall day after day

same dusty floor
same grey ceiling
white hall day after day
slowly cracking walls

tapping becomes stomping becomes pounding becomes crash
flames blazing rage
unheavenly blissful anger
veins popping blood boiling hair standing on end
jumping out of a comfortable recliner and glaring with bulging eyes

running down the corridor and crashing through the wall
sunny splendor and veins burning fire truck red and stifling heat of blazing sunlight darkness
open eyes and bleeding ears
paper slicing like razors
lemon juice in paper cuts
rotten egg stuck under tongue
peanut butter with sardines and pickles
fire
