Help pave the way for the future with our brick fundraising !! Your participation in this project will leave a permanent mark on the school. It is a great way to advertise, to memorialize, or to celebrate the graduation of family or friends. After many years of requests from the Ag-science teachers, the Ledyard Board of Ed unanimously approved the addition of a large animal facility in Fall 2004. A 3 sided 32ft x 60ft structure was donated by a local resident, and dismantled with the help of many students and employee hours. This makes it a very affordable addition to the state of the art facility we have. Ledyard receives a large amount of tuition from out of district students, a big benefit for the school budget. Since many of the kids are recruited for the equine science program, this barn would bring the program full circle and provide the education promised to the students when they are recruited. The construction & labor will be provided by the students, teachers, and many others. We do need to raise money for the fourth wall, 4 stalls, aisles, a safe driveway, and whatever other amenities yet to be identified. It is a work in progress . Exact landscaping plans will be determined as the project progresses, but is currently laid out in front of the barn. The landscaping bricks will be incorporated into the garden, as well as a metal horse sculpture that will be welded by another class. Knowing the projects LHS has already completed, I�m sure we will not be disappointed . As I will be driving to Mass. to pick up the bricks, they will be ordered in groups of 50, so your patience will be appreciated. The deadline for your order is January 31st, 2006.
