| AquaBusiness Aquabusiness is covered in a number of units including: aquaculture business management, lobstering, and fish production. Money and time management are covered in addition to pertinent regulations. |
Aquaculture Projects Various career options are discussed in aquaculture, commercial fishing, marine trades, and recreation. Students spend class time developing various projects in the classroom, from growing algae to arranging aquariums and breeding fish. Projects are used as hands-on experience putting classroom instruction to use. |
Aquariums and Tropical Fish Fish culture is also taught using tropical fish. Aquariums in the aquaculture classroom, as well as in other parts of the school, provide students with the opportunity to care for tropical fish in a variety of settings. Students develop maintenance and breeding plans for the tanks. |
Boat Building |

Boat Licensing Students in this class have the opportunity to take the Connecticut DEP safe boating course. They go over the safety manual, drive the Agri-Science boat out on the sound, and take general knowledge tests. Students who pass the course recieve a certificate and a boating license. |
Boat Repair |

| In this class, students construct small plywood and fiberglass crafts. They learn many skills of boat building first, and learn how to safely use the tools needed to build their crafts. Their final grade is based on how accurately they construct their boats. |
| Boat repair is much like boat building, except students repair boats that already exist. Students learn about fiberglass reinforcement plastic and wood repair. They also study the installation and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. |
