Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the meaning of all this?
The Vigaco site was set up as an information resource relating to video games, consoles and arcade cabinets.
It is the result of ongoing research for the upcoming book "Video Game Antiques", providing a practical guide to
prices and desirability of video game collectibles.
As a by product of this research, and to fund the publication of the book, several electronic guides will become available
over the comign months. We also have a subscription newsletter and alert service.
Q: What do I get for my premium subscription fee?
Your annual subscription to Vigaco News allows you access to the members area of the site, newsletter archives, competition
entry, and alert services. When the book hits the shelves, you will also get a subscribers reduction.
Q: What are Alert Services?
When we see something that we think is worth investing in - be it new or up for auction - we send out an alert to our
subscribers. This is not an indication that you will make money fast, but that the item is worth a long term investment.
Q: Is my {insert obscure item} worth anything?
Probably. If it is still in the box, preferably factory sealed, then it will almost certainly be worth something someday.
Check the listings, but if you can't find it, then send us a description, via the contact form, and we'll try to give a guestimate
as to its' market value.
Q: Why do you advertise new goods?
Ok. These are items that we feel will have a worth, at some point in the future, that will exceed their purchase price by a
substantial margin. The time span will vary from years to decades; but they will, at some point, become 'collectible'.
When you buy an item as an investment, be aware that you should keep the box, as a minimum, but preferably leave the item
exactly as it is. Factory sealed goods fetch higher prices than ones that are simply boxed.
