| No, it's not a state, it's just a really big piece of Australia. Eva and I crossed into the Northern Territory on the Plenty Highway. We decided to abbreviate our time in NT and didn't head up to Darwin or Kakadu National Park. On the whole, I think it was a good decision, I heard it was lousy weather up there. | |||||||

| Driving on the Plenty Highway. The 800 kilometer's looked pretty much like this | |||||||

| Plenty Highway 800k at 40kph, it took 3 days. Outback highways mean dirt and there was a lot of that. We saw maybe 12 people total during these three days, it was about as remote as we got during our Outback excursion. It was wonderful. |

| Alice to Ayer's We'd had plenty of dirt on the Plenty Highway and stuck to the sealed roads as we continued South (with a new windshield) from Alice to Ayer's Rock, the Olgas and King's Canyon. |

| King's Canyon "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" is the reason that I wanted to hike here, the Grand Canyon of Australia (it's a wee bit smaller). It was also the reason that Eva wore a boa hiking, though she still needs to see the film. |

| Uluru and the Olgas It's depressing, but the best thing about Ayer's Rock is being able to say that I saw it. It was hot, the flies were lively and there wasn't a whole lot to do besides look at the rock. I didn't want to climb it, and it was too hot to in any event. We went, we saw, we got the postcard. Yay!!!! |
