| This was my first experience backpacking alone. I had originally planned to travel for the month before my semester abroad with my girlfriend at the time, and with one of my best friends from home, as all three of us were planning on doing that semester in Europe. However, as my departure date drew close, I found myself without a girlfriend and my friend hadn't been accepted into his overseas program. So, rather than sit around Boston for another month, mooning over my ex, I elected to instead try to see Europe by myself. I have to say this was one of the best things that ever happened to me, as I probably would have been relunctent to try solo travel otherwise. As this was only a one month jaunt, I made plans to see Italy and Greeece, figuring any more would be too much. | |||||||
