The Story Behind Johnnie O's

Making the journey west from Meyronne, Saskatchewan in 1936, Johnnie and Marcelle Oeuvray found Ladner and made it their new home. Johnnie's first local job took him to Halls Packing Cannery, where he worked as a machine mechanic. In the years that followed, he went to work as a mechanic at a local auto repair shop. He worked hard for many years and it paid off, when he bought the very shop he worked in. He named it Ladner Motors. Through the years Johnnie became a well liked and respected member of the Delta community. In 1948, the Delta community was saddened when they learned that Johnnie's garage burned to the ground. It took no time for friends and family to join together and rebuild what the fire had taken away. Johnnie was well known around Ladner and Tsawwassen, but what the community didn't know was that Grandpa Johnnie was an excellent cook. His secret family recipes have been passed from generation to generation, today we prepare his recipes just like grandpa did and we would now like to share them with you. He lived a good life with his friends and family.
