La Mer
-
Somewhere out in the sea,
A place can be found,
Where everything is as it is,
And not a care goes round

For it is just how it should,
Calm and pleasant as can be,
With everything around,
Peaceful and happy

No fears or present dangers,
Nothing to get in your way,
The open beach is your canvas,
Where anyone can play

The sweet smell of the water,
The wind blowing through your hair,
The hot sand between your toes,
And yourself found without a care

With the sun beating down on you,
With its overwhelming warmth,
Reaching every inch of you,
Feeling all the wealth

The time has come once again,
For the decision to be made,
To stay here in this paradise,
Or leave but have this all fade

Now you know none of this is,
Though it doesnt matter at all,
Why does there have to be a difference,
When it all feels so real

But off in the distance,
It has now become clear,
For youve already made your decision,
For the clouds are starting to appear

Because this is your paradise,
That is your sea,
Those up there are your heavens,
Though splitting at the seams

The time is now,
For now and now alone,
To stand up to the monster,
For it has been to long

Gazing out over the water,
While watching the waves,
Breaking over what now is numb,
Into a tidal wave of things to come

Enough is enough,
Time seems to be standing still,
For in this moment,
Your decision is its will

As you are now faced,
Staring straight up hill,
That is your battle,
Of the future you need to fill,

The fear is no-longer hidden,
As it slowly stabs you in the side,
Your time is running faster now,
Trying to keep up with the crowd

Nothings no longer waiting,
For everything has changed this time around,
The paths that you once stumble down,
Have all changed this time around

But focusing back on the ocean seen,
Some lightening striking the crest,
Of a mighty Tidal Titan,
With you right in its path

And You without any shelter,
To run and hide to this time,
Your all out in the open,
Like a riddle without a rhyme

The clear and present danger,
Has become real enough this time,
But instead of running back away,
You take a step forward this time

As the water recedes,
Back further from your feet,
A smile appears across your face,
With laughter where once was defeat

Its over now
You tell the wave that is steadily coming in,
Its over now,
For I now understand what is understood

Go ahead you tidal surge,
Take your best shot,
Its over now and you need to know,
This time youll retreat

Standing tall with confidence,
Glaring at the sea,
Arms crossed over his chest,
saying, hey look at me!

And almost at that instant,
The wave doubled in size,
For its job is clear to you,
It has come to knock you down

The havens have cracked open,
Buckets now fall from the sky,
The water is drenching,
But you dont wonder why

Youre here for a reason,
Which has been coming to you day by day,
The world is overpowering,
Though by not trying your letting it win

The sky is now longer above you,
Only the wave can be seen,
In mere seconds it will hit you,
but unmoved are you from its way

The wave is right in front of you,
But time has seemed to stand still,
Almost to say, Go ahead,
The decision is still yours

Though at that very moment,
Your image you can clearly see,
Upon the mighty wave,
An image of supremacy

This is suicide, you say,
If I stand here Ill be crushed,
Though what else can I do?
Time is about up

And at that very instant,
You crunch down for your toes,
Then sticking your arms straight out,
To dive into the water

You hit it like a brick wall,
But somehow mange to get though,
Though your sense of direction is lost,
It doesnt seem to matter to you

You swim and swim for what seems,
Like hours upon days,
And at that moment the thought comes up,
That youll need to take another breath again

Able now to see sunlight,
Through all the water over head,
You swim and swim while hoping,
To make it before the end

With an explosion of bubbles,
Bursting out of your mouth,
You now only have seconds,
Till the curtain falls and your out

And with that last reach for the surface,
Only more water you have found,
With a new thought in your mind,
Why oh why did I try?

The feeling of the water,
Sand and debris hitting you skin,
Light fading away,
Replaced with darkness within

Now to wake in a dreams,
Youre completely surprised,
You are no longer in the sea,
But now on land where you shouldnt be

Youre back on the beach,
Though there is something very strange,
Looking out into the distance,
Theres nothing to be seen

No waves,
No water,
No sky,
No clouds

Have I died? you say,
Where is everything?
Where is the sea?
What has become of me?

Pacing back and forth,
Pondering everything for what its worth,
Throwing stones into the great abys,
Trying to figure out exactly what youve missed

But then out of nowhere you hear,
A voice from the distance as everything starts to disappear,
The land, the sand, and even the trees,
Now all just memories and dreams

A big gasp of Air,
A bright ray of light,
And suddenly you find yourself,
Next to someone else

Thank God You Woke Up,
I was worried, this person says,
I thought just maybe,
That you were dead

Oh well Im not sure exactly why, you say,
That Im alive but where are we anyway?
The last time I checked I was somewhere out at sea,
Though Im still lost may be youre the key

Well if thats the case I must be the wrong one,
Because this place is rough and no fun,
If only there was a place without a care... she says to you,
And you also once thought the same way too

It didnt matter anymore where you were,
Everything stared to make sense,
Though your mind was still cloudy hence,
Some things were still unclear

If there was ever a moment that you were completely alone,
It was now because this women had shown,
Just how where you once was couldnt have been real,
Because there isnt a place where you can ultimately choose what to feel

You were once out and about without any trouble in your mind,
Then when anything would happen youd always find,
A way to make everything workout all the time,
Numbing the wrong and feeling sublime

For that can be great for a little while,
But soon it again begins to compile,
Though still you cant remember,
You need a reminder

Where am I again, you say to her,
Because everything youve told me is a blur,
How exactly did I get into this bed,
And where exactly did this bump come from on my head?

Well to answer a question,
We dont exactly know upon first session,
Exactly how you were injured,
But I do know that youre now in this hospital

Youve been out for a few days,
In some kind of a comatosic daze,
But were glad to see you conscience again,
And maybe in a few days some memories youll regain

Though with time things should heal,
Even though you couldnt even try to steal,
A memory from the not so distant past,
But hopefully they will come back fast

Slowly but surely you start to,
Remember just what you,
Where doing that faithful day,
And how everything went away

You were all alone in mid day,
In your room with nothing to say,
Nothing to do nowhere to go,
You wanted to go out but your mind said no

And with the year coming to an end,
Plans for the future you needed to send,
Out into the world of gloom,
But you couldnt which led to your doom

To insecure and afraid of the out there,
To venture to the out where,
Strange and new things you might encounter,
But the thought of this made your insides twist and stir

So it was on this very day,
That you wanted to prove to yourself in some way,
That if you looked long enough you might find,
A way out of this life so unkind

Then you looked out of the window,
That led to the courtyard balcony,
You saw the hard cement ground,
And it was this solution that you found,

And as you leaped out into the air,
You remembered how you no longer cared,
Because you had found you way out,
Or at least it was what you thought about

For that last instant before you lost control,
Your head hit the ground and you saw it,
The glimmer of the water off the lake,
Which sparked your dream right before it

Though now your dream made total sense,
It was meant to open that invisible fence,
That had closed your whole world in,
Relieving your life of insolation and sin

There isnt any perfect place out there,
There isnt anywhere where just cant care,
To get anywhere in this life,
You need to step forward and not back

And if you have to get your feet wet,
Whats the difference as long as you get,
Further in life then you where before,
Because you never know what you have in store

But to think all you needed was to fall,
Knock yourself out from a heigh of two stories tall,
Have a long dream sequence a few hours long,
And wake up to realize that everything you once knew was wrong

Though it is easier to destroy then to reconstruct,
Sometimes you need to pick yourself up when you get sucked,
Into the hole of depression and unrest,
And get back on track for your quest

Because if you look long enough you will find,
That your reason for being isnt so blind,
Where theres nothing for you at one point in time,
Everything can turn around on a dime

Once you were cleared you let this place,
And traveled down to where you could face,
The great body of water you once saw in a dream,
Which was to you the ultimate supreme

And as you stood there gazing at the sea,
You thought to yourself just how it strangely made you happy,
But this time it was no dream,
There was just something about it the gleamed

Staring at the sea,
What will come,
For you can never know,
And thats half the fun
