SUBJECT: Commendation

TO: Commanding Officer, 467th AAA (AW) Bn USA (Thru: Commanding General, XIX Corps, APO 270, USA).

1. During the period 11 October 1944 to 22 October 1944, this group was committed as Infantry on the right flank of the XIX Corps in the attack and seizure of Aachen, Germany. During this period Batteries "A" and "C" of your battalion, commanded by 1ST LT CHARLES H. KELLER, and CAPTAIN EDWARD F. GRZYBEK, respectively, were attached to this group.

I desire to commend the officers and men of those batteries for the superior manner in which they performed their duties during the said period. The spirit of cooperation and helpfulness exhibited by them was outstanding and they materially aided in the successful completion of the mission of this group which ended with the fall of Aachen.

This commendation bears out the fact that the exploits of the 467th AAA AW Bn (SP) so gallantly begun on 6 June 1944 in Normandy, France, have been continuous in the pursuit of the Germans through France, Belguim, Holland, and into Germany itself.

The basic commendation with indorsements thereon will be read to the units of the 467th AAA AW Bn (SP) at the next formation, and copies forwarded to the officers and key enlisted men concerned.
