The fans, for screaming their voices hoarse.
The organisers, MediaCorp Radio and the Recording Industry Association of Singapore, for the post-reception buffet which starved journalists from Taiwan, Japan and Singapore were grateful for.
And, above all, the artists, for their antics which made the night more than just a mere star-gazing affair.
Ms Shih Hui Min, general manager (Chinese Programming) of MediaCorp Radio, deserves a mention for her cheongsam, which featured bright, horizontal stripes.
But when it came to grabbing attention during the ceremony at Suntec Singapore, attended by about 5,000 people, nobody did it better than Jeff Chang and Sky Wu.
They were here for their one-night-only concert Double Voices In Radio Town last Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (see Page 6).
But they turned up to announce the winners of four awards - Most Popular Regional Artist in Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China. They also began an intensive promotion campaign about their concert and Chang's new album, stretching what was supposed to be a one-minute speech into five.
They got so carried away that Wu announced the award for Most Popular Regional Artist in Mainland China without running the pre-recorded video of the nominees.
