Have you ever felt the desire to put your body and mind through a torture test?  Well this is the hike for you!!!!

Preparing for this treck seemed obvious, food, clothes, tent, sleeping bag and mattress, bear and bug repellent, cooking stuff, booze, first aid kit.  Seems innocent enough eh.  Well let me tell ya...those 75lb packs were enough to kill even the hardiest of pack mules!  Lesson #1...DON'T take more stuff than you can carry!  Ohhh dont get me wrong...half the stuff we took ...if we didnt have it...we probably would have needed it.  See our smiling happy faces....thats only a disguise...thats the feeling of "OMG...and only 43 km's to go!"
Beavers....dont ya just love the little buggers. If it weren't for them we would have had to add on an extra few km's to our trip trying to find a way around those creeks they dammed up.  Instead, we had little twigs to hang onto as we precariously made our way accross one of their slippery mud and stick creations.  Here im saying..."Take the friggen picture already....im starting to lose my balance!"
After about the 3rd beaver dam, we had become quite dexterous in our crossings.  Funny how we never did see one of the little critters.  Lucky for them ;o)
Mmmmmm...nothing like breakfast cooked over an open fire.  Course, getting up and lighting the fire at 6am with wickedly sore muscles, and the prospect of another long greuling day would bolster anyones appetite.  Couldn't turn my back for a sec, as Bruno would have feasted on that canned ham i got smoked over preparing.  Angie was amazed i could bake fresh biscuits out of one of the 2 boxes of bisquik we brought with us.  Lesson #2...dont bring cans, or 2 of anything, you will be eating it all on the first day!(or wishing you could)  Bruno ate well too....too bad we couldn't get him to carry his own food tho!
