| Chapter 69 Lucky woke up a few days after his father and grandfather. He didn�t remember much of what had happened. He knew people told him and some of it was hard to believe but he let it drop. They were leaving tomorrow and there was still a lot of packing to do yet. Lucky was trying find something to do to stay out of everyone�s way. He decided to go look for his father. Lucky walked past a maid in the hall and asked, �Have you seen my father?� The maid smiled at Lucky and said, �I seen Mr. Spencer in the billiard room.� �Thanks,� Lucky said and he walked way leaving her to her work. Lucky went to poolroom and walked on it. He figured he find his father playing pool but Lucky shock of his life. Luke was on the ground shaking all over. �Dad!� Lucky yelled rushing to his side. Luke�s eyes were open but you couldn�t see anything whites of his eyes. They rolled backwards and he was checking on something. �HELP!� Lucky yelled getting up and running into the hall. No one was around and he had no idea what to do. BJ and Josh had just happen to be looking for Lucky. They heard him yell and they came running. �Oh, my God,� BJ said when she saw her uncle on the floor. �Josh go get Alex!� BJ ordered. Josh was off even before she had ordered him to go. He knew at the sight of Luke that he needed medical help. BJ went to the ground beside her uncle and quickly did a once over. She took first aid in school this year. She knew what happening to Luke and she knew what to do. �Lucky, get me a pencil.� Lucky didn�t move he stood there watching believing that his father was dying on him. �LUCKY GET ME A PENCIL!� BJ yelled at him. Lucky moved and ran to get one. �Here,� he said handing it over to her finally. BJ took and fought to pull jaw open. Luke was having a seizure. He had swallowed his tongue and he was choking on it. If nothing was done quickly, then Luke would chock to death. BJ had finally pulled mouth open and stuck her hand in and pulled on his tongue. When it was flat again, she shoved the pencil in his mouth and closed jaw around it. She then went to take his pulse but Luke was still in middle of a seizure. She couldn�t keep in one place long enough to do it. �Lucky, you have to hold him.� BJ ordered. Lucky did what he was told. He still was locked in this fear that his father was going to die on him. He didn�t want to believe that it could happen. Lucky wasn�t ready to live life without him! He needed him. Alex rushed into the room right then and quickly took over. �What�s his pulse?� she asked the girl. �I can�t take it. It is going to fast,� BJ said. �Ok,� Alex said thinking. �BJ, you Josh and Lucky go into the first aid room and get me these supplies.� Alex quickly ran off a list of stuff that she need from the room. BJ listened and then quickly she did what she was told to do. Her and Josh had shove Lucky out of the room because at this moment the teen hadn�t wanted to leave his father�s side. As they were leaving, Bobbie and Laura had showed up. Laura wanted to go to Luke but Mrs. Carlson had stopped her. She held her back while Bobbie and Alex went to work on Luke. �What do you want?� Bobbie asked quickly going into nurse mode. She knew she had no choice. Her brother needed her like this then as his worried sister at this moment. It might be the only thing that could keep him alive. ************************************ News spread fast through the castle about Luke, and soon the others were crowded around. BJ and Josh had to fight to get the medical supplies past them and near Alex and Bobbie. �Thanks,� Alex said as she grabbed a black bag from atop the stretcher. �Victor, get your copter started. As soon as I get Luke stable, we are flying out of here.� �What is wrong?� Mikkos asked. �The tumor. It is causing him to seizer. I�m going to have to remove it!� Alex said as she went back to work. Ruby gripped Mikkos hand and started to cry. She always thought that Luke would out live her. It was the way things should be. He should have to bury her. She never ever wanted to think about burying him. This was a fear now and it grew stronger as time went on. Mikkos was thinking the same thing. He looked over where Lucky, Lu and Laura stood. The three of them holding on to each other watching the main part of them fight for his life. Mikkos didn�t know how he was going to help them through this if the worst did happen. How could he replace Luke? When even to Mikkos he was impossible to replace! Alex worked and she finally got the seizers to stop. She knew she was running out of time. So, with the help of Stefan, Jason and Sonny, they moved Luke to the stretcher and started carrying him to the copter. Lucky thought about something as they walked. No way were they going to be able to go with his father. There would be no room and the planes were being loaded with luggage for the trip home. Lucky realized they were going to have to drive. �Mom, my car,� Lucky said and his mother across the lawn and towards the parked cars. Laura realized what he was thinking and quickly moved with him. She too feared that Luke was going to leave here. She just couldn�t think about that happening. She couldn�t dream of it. She didn�t want to think that he would leave her. Lucky, Lu and Laura ran to his car. Lucky helped his sister in the back while Laura got in the front on the other side. He then climbed in and started his car. Lucky pulled way with the throttle to the floor. Victor had been taking off about the time and saw this. He knew the gate was closed because of the press. He called the guardhouse and ordered, �Clear a path for Lucky�s car. Now!� �What�s going on?� Bobbie asked. �Lucky isn�t waiting for the others. He is going to the hospital,� Victor said hoping the kid was in his right mind enough to drive but from the looks of it. He wasn�t! Lucky was going fast. Faster then he had ever seen Lucky drive before in his life! ************************************* A little while later, the others were pulling away. The press didn�t move as easy for them as they did for Lucky. Stefan got out and approached the group. �We need you to move. My brother is being flow to St. Petersburg hospital at this moment. His tumor is causing him problems. We don�t know what is going to happen or his condition at this moment. We do need to get to him. So, for my step mother�s sake and my fathers would please move and allow to us to pass. We will give you more information when it comes to us,� The press moved back. They knew that from the look on Stefan�s face it was bad. They also knew that if they didn�t move then the Cassadines would piece of information again. Stefan went back to the car then. He didn�t realize it but this was the first time that he actually called Luke his brother. He thought him as brother or better then he ever thought of Stavors. Stefan just never said it out load before. ******************************* The drive back to St. Petersburg should have taken eight hours but it only took five hours for Lucky, Laura and Lu. No one realized how fast Lucky went because their mind was on Luke and how he was doing. When Lucky car pulled into the parking lot. You hear the rattling in the engine. He had pushed it past its limit and it wasn�t in the great of shape any more. Victor met them in the parking lot. �Not a word,� Lucky said as he got out of the car when he noticed the look on Victor�s face. Laura ignored them both and asked, �How is Luke?� Victor looked at her and said, �He is in surgery. Alex told me she would give word when she knew what was going on.� Laura nodded and he quickly guided them into the house. He knew the press was coming and it wouldn�t take long for be there. He didn�t think it was wise for Laura, Lucky or Lu to deal with that now. So, they went inside and waited for news on Luke�s condition. *************************** Luke had been in surgery for eighteen hours and so far the family hardly anything on what was going on. Laura sat between her kids holding them and waiting for news on Luke. She was scared and trying to hold herself together for their sake but the wait was driving her crazy. Then suddenly the waiting ended and Alex and Bobbie walked into the room. They didn�t show either way on how things went. Bobbie went to her family and Alex moved towards Laura. She kneeled down before Laura and too her hand. �Well?� Laura asked not being able to wait any longer. Alex sighed and said, �I should have take it out sooner. It was worse then I first thought it was. I had trouble getting it out but I finally got it all. I can�t tell you how Luke is going to be. It is to soon to tell but right now he is alive.� �Can I see him?� Laura begged. Alex thought about this then said, �Only you, the kids have to wait until we move him to ICU.� �Ok,� Laura said and she looked at Lucky. �Stay here with your sister.� Lucky nodded as he mother got up and went with Alex to the recovery room. Laura was shocked at the sight of Luke. His eyes were still taped and he looked bad to her. �Don�t take to long,� Alex said to Laura as she guided her to Luke. Laura nodded her head and she sat in the chair beside her husband. Laura took a deep breath and said, �Luke, you swore to me when we got married the second time that you never leave me. I�m holding you to it. You hear me! I�m holding you to your word!� Laura started to cry then. She couldn�t hold it in any longer. Alex helped her to her feet and took her out of the room.
