| Chapter 68 No one moved very long time. They just stood there in shock at what had just happened. Finally though they started to move and their first concern was Mikkos, Luke and Lucky. None of them were hurt but they were in some kind of deep sleep. Alex had ordered them taken to the bedrooms upstairs. Laura had placed father and son one bed together. So, she wouldnt have to keep from going from room to another as she kept watch over them. Ruby had Mikkos placed in their bed. So, she could keep close eye on him. Victor had joined her and he stood there thinking about everything he had seen. He never really believed in heaven or hell until this very moment. He still he believed but he wasnt so sure he didnt. As he stood there watching as he wife checked out his brother, Victor was thinking about this. It was then the door behind him opened and Mrs. Lansbury walked into the room. Mr. Cassadine, I think you better come with me. Whats wrong? Victor asked stepping outside his brothers room. You have to see it, Mrs. Lansbury said and she turned to head down the hall. Victor had no choice but to fallow her. The pair walked outside where to Victor it looked like a war zone. Lighting had hit the land cracking the ground on impact. The lake had turned over and a tree that once stood near the house was burning. The house was hit as well and every place lighting struck we are finding this, Mrs. Lansbury said showing Victor a part of a human bone. Dear God, Victor muttered wondering how many bodies had been unearthed. All the people that this family killed over all this years if so, it would take a live time to uncover them! Make sure they take very good care of unearthing the bodies. Yes, sir, Mrs. Lansbury said pausing a bit before asking her next question. What about the treasure? What treasure? Victor asked. One of the guards noticed that a wall in the guard fell. He went to check out if there was danger in it coming down all the way. He found this, Mrs. Lansbury said holding out a diamond necklace to Victor. They found it! He said realizing where and what this came from. He noticed a guard standing near by and ordered, Move everything that was found in the garage into the den and stay with it until I give you further orders! Yes, sir, the guard said and he quickly took off to do what Victor ordered. Victor then looked at the maid and said, Make sure that the house is checked out for any sign of damage or human remains. If there are any, make sure the kids are kept out of harms way. Yes, sir, Mrs. Lansbury said and she quickly took off to do what Victor had ordered. Victor stood there thinking about what he was going to do about all of this. He knew they couldnt hide the bodies any more. The press must have seen the storm! Victor could keep quiet on what happened in the house. He didnt think anyone would believe them, if they did talk that wasnt what he feared. What bothered him was the backlash from all the dead bodies. He did think there was a way of dealing with all of this though without to much trouble. Victor went to make some calls to St. Petersburg. He had very little time before things got out of hand. He had to work fast to keep things calm and under control. ******************************************* The next day, Luke woke up and found that he was lying right next to Lucky. Lucky was still fast asleep and didnt want to wake him up. So, he slowly moved out of bed and started towards the bathroom. This was when Luke found his wife lying in a make shift bed in one of the chairs. Luke walked towards it and gently kissed Laura on the cheek. Angel? he said in a loving voice. Lauras eyes popped open at the sound of his voice. Oh, Luke, she cried so glad that he had woke up. I was so worried. Im fine Angel, Luke said still not sure what happened. Oh, he remembered but Luke was just a bad dream. He had no idea that had been real. Laura looked at him in shock and asked close to loosing it, Dont you remember? Our son floating in the air? Dead members of this family talking to people? Luke pulled her to him and said, I thought it was a bad dream but it is over with. Right? He asked. Yes, they crossed over that is what Angelic said, Laura said pulling herself together. They were ok. Alex had told her that Lucky was just asleep and would wake up. They didnt know when but didnt blame the kid for sleeping this long. He had been taken over by a demon that would knock anyone out. Thats good. No more seeing ghosts, Luke said smiling. You saw them before all this started? Laura asked. Luke smiled and told his wife what he had been up too. ********************************* Mikkos woke up as well and Victor filled him in on what he had missed. The two men were now downstairs in the den looking at the missing artworks, jewels and other items. I dont believe this was all with it, Mikkos said shocked. Yeah, some of these paintings and artwork had been taken by the Nazis before and during the war. It looks like our relieves were hiding it, Victor said coldly. Thats our family. What did the authorities say? Mikkos asked coldly. The President said that he doesnt blame us for our families past. He is very grateful that we called him. He is sending people over to make sure they get turned over to the rightful owners. Oh, he did call the press, Victor said coldly. The staff and family do know not to talk about what happened, Mikkos said a little concerned that someone would actually talk. Dr. Collins and his wife arent saying anything. They know people would never believe them. As for the staff and the family, no one is going to talk, I assure you, Victor replied. Good, when the people from the President get here. Tell me and Ill deal with them. How about the bodies? Mikkos asked. It is very well known that this family had a dark past. I told the President about the storm and said that it caused some unmarked graves to be opened up. He was shocked but understanding. He is sending people over to help deal with the bodies and give them proper burials. We found in the house that I plan not disclosing. We are going to get enough flack from the press because of the ones that were outside, Victor said. What has been done about them? Mikkos asked. Victor smiled and said, Dont worry. Thanks to Stefans research we know who they are. Angelic is planning their funerals at this moment. Oh, one of the bodies was little Nakka. We found her in room that was blocked off on the forth floor. I always knew the child was here. Make sure she is placed with her brother, mother and father, Mikkos said sadly. We are doing it. It seems your granddaughter, has been talking to her. Lu wants to make sure that her friend is treated right, Victor said with smile. Mikkos nodded his head and then looked around the room. I never believe in the curse but it was real. God, all those souls trapped here, Mikkos said sadly. Do you believe we saw the gates of heaven and hell? Victor asked. Yes, I do. I might not have seen them myself but what I did see told me that all this was real. Im just glad that is over with and that those people are at rest, Mikkos said thinking of all the death that lay around them. He looked at his brother and said, As soon as Lucky wakes up, get the staff to start packing. We are going home. I dont want the kids to deal with this mess. You stay behind and make sure that things are taken care off properly. You got it, Victor said and he went off to tell Mrs. Lansbury of Mikkos orders. Ruby had been standing in the background listening. Im glad we are going home. I dont like the idea of staying here any more, she said Mikkos pulled her closer to him. I dont either. The house is different to me now but Im glad we came. If I hadnt I would believed in all of this. I would have let it kept on going, Mikkos said sadly. Ruby smiled at him and said, It is over with. They are at rest and we are all safe. I know, Mikkos said kissing his wife and looking around at treasure in front of him. Not all of this was taken by the Nazis. We get most of it, Mikkos said smiling. There is enough here to last anyone ten lifetimes, Ruby admitted. I agree, Mikkos said thinking about how much this was going to add to his estate. Strange they found it now after he separated the family fortune from the title. This was going to be one more reason why his relatives hated him. He would worry about them later. Right now, he was going to go back to enjoy his time with his wife. Chapter 69 Back to Trials of Love |
