| Chapter 58 Mikkos was getting dressed for his big evening when Mrs. Lansbury walked into the room bowing slightly to Mikkos. �Mr. Cassadine, I hate to interrupt you but we have a few problems.� �What kind of problems?� Mikkos asked. �Well, some of the staff is a bit worked up. One of the cook�s helpers was cut with electric knife. It turned on without any electricity,� Mrs. Lansbury said sheepishly. �What? This is joke right?� Mikkos asked her. �No, sir. I wish it was but she was lucky she didn�t loss her finger. Also some of the family are complaining about strange happenings.� Mikkos rolled his eyes and said, �They are taking this curse thing a bit to far. I�ll Victor check out the knife for any pranksters that are walking around trying to make this cures real. Anything else?� �No, sir,� Mrs. Lansbury said bowing to Mikkos and then leaving. Mikkos sighed in frustration and finished getting dressed. He was figuring that someone was playing games and they were trying to make this curse seem real. ***************************** Luke was getting dressed or trying to. He was looking in the mirror trying to fix his tie. As he did so, Luke caught a glimpse of a woman walking towards the bathroom. �Angel?� Luke called out turning around but saw no one. �What is it, Luke?� Laura asked coming out of the bathroom. �Ah, I�m all thumbs today. Do you mind tying this for me?� Luke asked quickly covering up his slip. He must be loosing it because now he was seeing things in the house. Maybe there was something wrong with him? Who knows? Laura smiled not seeing the concern on Luke�s face. She tied his tie and they both finished getting ready. ******************************** �Mommy, why can�t we have dinner with you tonight?� Michael asked sitting on his parents� bed watching with Victoria as Carly and Jason got dressed. Carly smiled at her son and said, �You will not enjoy tonight.� �We�re not going to enjoy tonight,� Jason muttered as he worked on buttoning his shirt. �Why not?� Victoria asked looking dutifully up at her father. Jason kissed his daughter on the cheek and said, �Because spending time with this side of the family isn�t that enjoyable.� �Lucky, said they are vampires,� Michael said with wide-eyes. Jason smiled and said, �That is Lucky�s way of saying they aren�t very nice.� �Oh,� was Michael�s only reply. �Why not?� Victoria asked a bit glad to know that these new comers weren�t after her blood. Jason and Carly looked at each other trying to figure out how to answer that question in away the twins would understand. Carly finally said, �Because they want to take something that doesn�t belong to them.� �That�s not right,� Victoria said. �No it isn�t,� Carly said to her daughter as Jason zipped up her dress. ************************ Emily and BJ were getting dressed together. �It sucks that we can�t sit together,� BJ said as she looked over her dresses trying to find the right one to ware. �I know,� Emily said thankful that she narrowed it down to five dresses but still hadn�t found the right dress for tonight�s dinner just yet. �I think Lucky would rather be anywhere but here tonight. He didn�t even laugh once during the movie.� �Yeah, he loves brain dead movies,� BJ said jokingly. Emily laughed and said, �Yeah, but he isn�t happy about tonight. I think it bothers him being front and center with this family.� �It does. He didn�t enjoy doing it in Russia. I know because I know the fake Lucky and he was out big time those two weeks,� BJ said finally finding the right dress that is if she packed the right shoes. �Oh, that Lucky. The Lucky that smiles but deep down he wants to scream,� Emily said seeing that Lucky a lot in school. He shows up in every class because most teachers talk down to him like a child and when did that you got on Lucky�s bad side. �Yeah, that Lucky,� BJ said with smile. She didn�t blame Lucky for acting this way. She would act the same way in his shoes. �You can bet that Lucky will be out tonight. The family has a way of doing that to him.� �All of you,� Emily said with a smile as she two found the right dress to ware for tonight. �What do you mean?� BJ asked puzzled by Emily�s comment. Emily smiled and said, �Breakfast, everyone hid when the others showed up. No one wants them to be there. I don�t see any one acting themselves tonight.� �You are right. We don�t want them here and tonight Mikkos is going to tell them they get nothing. I don�t see this family taking that news to well,� BJ admitted. �This is going to be fun,� Emily said as she went to see if she had the right shoes for the dress she wanted to ware. *********************************** Downstairs, Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Lansbury were making sure things were just right for this evening. Some of the family had already arrived. They were walking around the small table talking in small groups waiting for the first of the main family to arrive. Not surprisingly, it was Victor and Alex that came down for dinner first. Not many brave soles walked over to great Victor. Jerry Jacks and his father was the only ones to do so. �Good evening,� John Jacks said greeting Victor in a respectful tone of voice. �Good evening, this is my wife, Alex,� Victor said. �My pleasure,� Jerry Jacks said kissing Alex�s hand. �Your are a charmer.� Alex said smiling. Victor was cold but did talk to the Jacks while he looked around gauging the others presents. He didn�t know how it was trying to hurt them but he was planning on finding out. In fact, the Jacks are on his list. Jasper is the weakest member of the family and is purely business. It is father and son that bother Victor. Both John and Jerry Jacks work under the law. Men like that worry Victor and he isn�t about ready to cross them off his list, at least not at the moment. ***************************** Lu was fixing the ruffles on her dress when suddenly Nikka showed up suddenly beside her. �Oh,� Lu scared and jumped a bit. �You scared me,� Lu said to her ghost friend. �Sorry didn�t mean to,� Nikka said. �You look nice.� �Thank you,� Lu said turning around to face her friend. �You ok?� Lu asked noticing the worried look on her face. �The bad ones are acting up. They like all the people here. Specially, when they know that Mikkos isn�t going to break the curse,� the child said sadly. �Maybe I can talk to him?� Lu said sadly. �No, he doesn�t believe. You believe. The twins believe but the adults don�t. I think your father sees us but he doesn�t actually believe in us,� Nikka said sadly. �Maybe we can show them something that they believe,� Lu said. �I don�t know what but we have to figure it out soon because the others are getting tired of waiting,� Nikka admitted. �We will think of something. Can you come down tonight?� Lu asked. �No, I can�t. I have to stay up here and help keep the mean ones busy. Don�t worry, we are not going to allow tonight or the wedding to be destroyed. We are hoping that if Mikkos gets what he wants then he will give us what we want,� Nikka said. �I hope so,� Lu said and she looked at the clock on the wall. �I have to go.� �Have fun,� Nikka said as she stood there watching Lu rush out of the room. She liked Lu and didn�t want her hurt. She knew if the others didn�t get what they wanted then none of the main family was going to leave this place ever. They were going to join them. ******************************* Lucky and Emily walked into the main hall together. Bethany quickly walked over to say hi. �Hi, remember me?� Bethany asked. �Hi,� Lucky said smiling politely at the young woman. �How things going for you?� �I�m fine. I noticed you fell into the roll of prince nicely,� Bethany said smiling. Lucky tightened up a bit and said, �I�m trying.� Emily claws were out so speak. She didn�t like the way this woman was looking at Lucky. In fact, she didn�t like this woman at all. �Ah, Lucky we better go and get seated. We are running late.� �Yes,� Lucky said smiling at Em and then turned to Bethany. He bowed slightly to her and said, �I hope we can chat more later.� �I�d like that,� Bethany said smiling as Lucky and Emily moved away. �Who is that?� Emily muttered as her and Lucky made their way to Emily�s table. �That�s one of the cousins. I met her at Carly�s wedding,� Lucky said not thinking anything of it. �Oh,� was all Emily said. After seating Emily, Lucky moved to the main table. As he walked past his grandfather, �I almost thought you backed out on me.� �The moment is wedding is over with, I�m never this sash again,� Lucky said and he sat down opposite of his mother. Laura patted Lucky on the arm as he sat down. Everyone started to sit down then. Once they were in their seats, Victor stood up and knocked his knife on his wineglass. �May we have your attention please?� Victor said calmly. Everyone turned and looked towards the main table. Victor bowed to his bother and Mikkos stood up. Mikkos cleared his throat and then looked down at Ruby. �I want to thank for coming to me and Christina�s wedding. We are looking forward sharing our grand day with you.� Some of the family clapped their hands at this but others just sat there coldly waiting for Mikkos to go on. Mikkos paused a moment then went on. �Now, for my grand announcement. This is the first time any Cassadine arrived in Russia greeted and welcome. It took a lot of hard work but the past is now behind us. The old laws no longer bound us. I am the crown prince and I will be until my death. My son and his son and his son will be the crown prince without the Old World rules.� Everyone�s jaws dropped open. An old woman stood up leaning heavily on her cane. �What you are saying Mikkos is that no matter what your children decided. We get nothing!� Mikkos smiled and bowed to the woman. �Sorry, Aunt Catherine but you are right. You and your family and the others get nothing in my death. I say who gets what and how much. In fact, with in the year, I�m taking this family into a new level. We are no longer thought of as empire but we are just a corporation.� Catherine Cassadine waved her hand and her son beside her pulled a gun. Victor was ready and so were Luke, Sonny and Jason. They all pulled their guns as well pointing them towards the man. Mikkos looked at his aunt and said, �You don�t want to spill blood here and neither do I but if your son fires his gun at me then this family will fire at him.� The old woman put her hand on her arm and he lowered his gun. �My mother was the oldest but because she born female she got nothing. Her brother your grandfather took what was hers. Mikkos, I promise you this. The day you die is the day my blood will fight for what is theirs.� Mikkos smiled and said, �Bring it on because my blood is stronger then your ever will be.� �So be it,� Catherine said and she moved away with her family close behind her. Victor and the others sat down. �That takes care of some of them,� Lucky said smiling. �Yeah, but there are a lot left,� Laura said noticing that a lot of the family stuck around. A man about Mikkos age stood up. He bowed to Mikkos and said, �Cousin, we hope you don�t think all of us are with her. We have always believed we gain nothing with this family. We are here only to celebrate your wedding. So, here is to Mikkos and Christina. We hope they have long lives together.� Victor picked his glass up and said, �I�ll second that.� Mikkos smiled as he sat down. The meal was served and everyone enjoyed the evening.
