| Chapter 51 Lucky ended up with companions when he laid down to rest a bit. It was time for Victoria and Michael�s nap. The only trouble was they would only take their nap with Lucky. So, he had agreed to allow the kids to sleep with him. After making sure the kids were safe with Lucky. Jason and Carly went for a walk. They ended up by the lake where Alex stood by Victor, who was monitoring the progress of the men checking the dock. �Do you know what happened yet?� Carly asked her father as Carly and Jason stopped beside the couple. �No, not yet,� Victor said not liking any of this. First the rats and now Lucky almost drowned. He knew about the curse and he never believed in it. At least he didn�t normally believe in things like that. �Lucky sleeping?� Alex asked Carly. �With two guests in his bed,� Jason said laughing. He had to pity Lucky. A teenager didn�t want two five year olds hanging on him all the time. The problem was Lucky became a hero not only to the twins but too little Tasha as well. Jason spotted Sonny walking Tasha to Lucky�s room just as they came down stairs. He was wondering if Tasha like the twins refused to sleep anywhere but where Lucky was. It was going to take them awhile to get over this hero thing. Jason was hoping that Lucky would deal with it until the kids were ready to back off. �Poor Lucky,� Alex laughed wondering how he was going to react with three shadows following him around all the time. �At least it is Lucky, he takes the kids hanging on him better then Zander or Nikolas would. I have seen him with Lu,� Victor said with a smile on his face. �Yeah, that is plus,� Carly said smiling. �So, does this curse have to do with Lucky�s little accident?� �What curse?� Jason asked looking at his wife with a puzzled look on his face. �Ah some old lady put a curse on this family years ago. Any family members that live here end up meeting tragic deaths,� Carly said not really taking this curse thing to seriously. �How did you hear about the curse?� Victor asked his daughter. �I have heard it a long time ago. This family is good at throwing things like curses or a treat of curses around,� Carly said jokingly. �Sweet heart, don�t let Mikkos hear you joke about this curse. Stefan has him in an up roar over it. Stefan thinks the curse is real,� Victor said. �Come on, Stefan is to level headed to believe in curses,� Alex said looking at her husband in shock. �He does or thinks being here is a bad idea. I�m starting to wonder that myself,� Victor said his six sence of trouble kicking in. It wasn�t the actually curse that bothered him. It was the idea that the others in this family knew about it. Could one of them be playing games trying to harm this family by bring this curse back? Victor didn�t know yet but he knew he was going to find out for all their sakes. �What are you thinking?� Jason asked wondering why Victor suddenly got this cold look on his face. �I don�t know yet,� Victor said noticing the divers coming towards them. One of them was holding a length of chain in his hand. �What do you have?� �This was cut,� The diver said handing the chain to Victor. �I knew it. Lucky was scratched,� Victor said realizing someone had to have been hiding under the dock waiting for their chance to grab Lucky or any of them. �Who?� Alex asked looking puzzled at her husband. �I don�t know but I�m going to find out. Jason, I want you to pass the word to Luke and Sonny. Keep the kids in sight as much as possible. I don�t want them out of any of our sight for to long,� Victor told his son in-law. �Got it,� Jason said gripping Carly�s hand to reassure her he wasn�t going to let anything happen to the twins. Victor kissed his wife and said good-bye to his daughter. He had things to check out. The family was doing to arrive in two weeks. He wanted to know who could be playing games with them before any of them got here. Alex shook her head and said, �I think I would rather be in St. Petersburg.� �I agree,� Carly said sadly. This was going to a great vacation but it is turning to out to be a nightmare. *************************************** Luke decided to get away from the family for awhile. Ok, so he needed to smoke a cigar and didn�t want to get a lecture. So, tried to find a hiding place. The trouble was Laura had a six sence when it came to finding Luke. She found him hiding in the garden puffing on a cigar. �I�m not even going to comment,� Laura said as she walked up behind her husband. �Good because I�m not going to let you prevent me from smoking this,� Luke said enjoying ever puff he was taking. It had been a long time since he had a good cigar. Laura shook her head and said, �I just talked to Jason. He said that chain was cut. He wants us to keep a close eye on the kids.� Luke stopped smoking and turned to face his wife. �Victor know this?� �Victor is the one that ordered it. It seems that someone had to have grabbed Lucky and wrapped his leg around the chain. �Great. Which blood sucker is trying to take the kid out now?� Luke demanded as he put out his cigar with his shoe. The joy of smoking was gone. He had other things to worry about. Like the fact, which family member was trying to off his kid now? �I don�t think Victor knows but I�m sure he is on it,� Laura said wishing this family would leave be at least while Luke was sick. He didn�t need to worry about Lucky or any of them. He had to work on getting well. �Well, I�m going to go find him. See what he has to say about this,� Luke said as he started down the bath. �Luke,� Laura said stopping him. �How about letting Victor deal with this?� �Why?� Luke asked shocked that she would even suggest it. �Because right now you need to worry about yourself,� Laura said smiling at him. �I�m ok. I can take care of myself and hunt down this creep that is going after my kid!� Luke said kissing his wife before he left her standing in the garden alone. Laura shook her head in frustration as she watched him leave. She knew talking to Luke was useless. No way was he going to back down with one of his kids in danger. No matter how bad he was feeling! *************************** Nikolas went looking for Gia. He found her sitting by herself by the pool. �There you are. You ok?� he asked as he sat down beside her. �Yeah, I�m fine,� Gia said sadly. �How is Lucky?� �He�s fine. I heard from the staff that you had your things moved out of our room. Why?� Nikolas asked her. �Because I�m tired of this game we are playing,� Gia said looking at Nikolas for the first time. He could tell she had been crying and knew it wasn�t over concern for Lucky. �What game?� He asked her. �You, me, Robin and Zander. You know Lucky told me that he thought that I cared about Zander. I guess it looked like that way to a lot people. They are wrong. I only spent with Zander because I wanted to get your attention. The trouble is you didn�t bother with me,� Gia said sadly. �Why did you spending time with him then?� Nikolas asked. �To get you worked up! I wanted to get your attention. Nikolas, I�m tried of all of this. If you want me then pick me but you want Robin tell me. Then I�ll go home and pick up the pieces of my life!� Gia told him. Nikolas sighed and said; �I don�t know what I want.� �Ok, you have until end of this summer to figure out what you want. If you pick me then I don�t want you to see Robin again at least not like you have been. IF you want her then I�ll go back to New York and start my life over. It is up to you what happens,� Gia said and what that she stood up and walked away. Nikolas sat there and thought about what she said. He knew it wasn�t fair of him doing what he had been doing. He spent time with Gia and Robin both gave him something. Gia put life in his life and Robin was more is intellectual. The problem was Nikolas had no idea what he wanted. He did know he had until the end of summer to find out. ************************************** Lucky woke up to find Michael and Victoria on either side of him and Tasha lying on his chest. Lucky had to smile when he looked into Tasha�s little face. She had her fingers in her mouth sucking way on them. She looked sweet and it was hard for Lucky to find the courage to wake her up. So, he could get up! Lucky decided to lay there for a bit and wait for her to wake up on her own. As he laid there he thought about the events on the lake. He could have sworn something had grabbed him but what could have done it. He was underwater by himself. No one else was around! Or where they? Lucky�s breathing had changed when he woke up. This woke little Tasha up. She reached out grabbed Lucky�s nose breaking him out of his thoughts. �About time you woke up,� Lucky said smile as he looked into the little girl�s face. �Ducky,� Tasha said giggling. �Yeah, ducky,� Lucky said as he wrapped his arm around Tasha and sat up. Lucky climbed out of his bed. Michael and Victoria had woken up with him moving around. Lucky smiled at them and said, �You hungry?� �Yeah,� the twins yelled jumping out of bed to join Lucky. Lucky couldn�t help but smile. He knew sooner or later that this fondness of him would ware off. He would just have to wait it out. Until then he had three new followers to deal with. Lucky took the kids down stairs to find the dinning room and maybe supper. Lucky found the others in the dinning room getting ready to eat supper. �About time you four woke up,� Alexis said smiling and she got up to take Tasha from Lucky. Tasha didn�t want to leave Lucky. She put her cubby little arms around Lucky�s neck and screamed. �No! Ducky!� Lucky looked at Alexis with what I do look on his face. Alexis decided that fighting her daughter at this moment was good idea. �Ok, Lucky can put you in your seat.� Alexis said smiling as she backed away from them. �Ok,� Lucky said with a half smile on his face. He had caught Nikolas and Zander�s stifle laughter at the name �ducky�. He had a feeling that ducky was going to stick around for a very long time. Lucky not only Tasha in her highchair but the twins in their buster chairs. He was secretly hoping this hero thing would die down soon. It was getting a little old having three little shadows everywhere he went but then again. He knew the kids had a bad scare. So, he was going to put up with it at least until Emily got here. After that, Lucky wasn�t sure what he was going to do! As Lucky sat down in his chair, he noticed Gia was missing. �Where is Gia?� Lucky asked. �Packing I hope,� Laura said coldly. �Mother,� Nikolas snapped. �What happened?� Lucky asked he had a feeling he knew what happened but he wanted Nikolas to tell him. �She moved out of my room,� Nikolas said sadly. �Gia has this delusional idea that Nikolas and I are an item,� Robin said coldly. �Aren�t you?� Lucky asked sharply. He didn�t know what it was but Robin bugged the hell out of him at this moment. Lucky figured if Robin wasn�t around all the time then maybe Nikolas and Gia could work out their problems. The trouble was Robin just refused to go away. She was like a fly that never took the hint until the fly swatter came crashing down on top of it! �What does that mean?� Robin asked. Lucky laughed at her. �You know Robin, you are either dense or a good liar. I don�t know which one it is but this act is really getting old at least I think so,� Lucky said coldly. �Lucky, that isn�t nice,� Laura snapped at her son. �Nice?� Lucky said raising an eyebrow at his mother. �Oh that�s right. Robin is the good girl and Gia is the bad girl. Sometimes mom you are a bit to snobbish for me.� �I don�t know how much lake water that you swallowed but what ever it his has gotten to your brain. I want to remind you that is my sister you are talking about,� Zander warned Lucky. �I don�t care whose sister she is. I think she is really dumb if she thinks everyone buys this saint act because I don�t. I think she nothing but a tramp that can�t get her own boyfriend!� Lucky said looking at Zander daring him to even try anything. �Why you little,� Zander said jumping to his feet and going for Lucky. �That is enough,� Victor said getting between the two of them. �From the both of you,� Victor said looking at both Lucky and Zander. Zander sat back down. �I don�t know what got into Lucky but next time you say anything about my sister. I�m going box you!� Lucky didn�t sit down. He just smiled at Zander and said, �You forget I can say what ever I want. I�m the prince remember!� With that Lucky just walked out of the room. Tasha, Michael and Victoria didn�t know what was going on but what they did know is that Zander and Nikolas upset Lucky that meant they didn�t like Zander and Nikolas at this moment. Luke looked at Mikkos and said as he stood up to leave, �This is your doing. You got to the kid!� Mikkos shook his head. He was lost, as the others were on why Lucky acted the way he did. All he knew was that something had to be bugging Lucky. He usually wasn�t like this. ********************************** Luke found his son standing by the lake watching the ducks feed. �What�s going on?� Luke asked as he sat down beside his son. �You don�t want to know,� Lucky said as he picked up a rock and threw it into the lake. �Try me,� Luke said looking at Lucky intently. Lucky sighed and said as he looked at his father, �Gia is pregnant. And no, I�m not the father,� Lucky added at the look he was getting from his father. �I can guess who the father is,� Luke said. �But are you sure she is telling you the truth?� Lucky pointed back towards the house as he said, �If you are going to be on the Saint Robin�s bandwagon. Get out of here!� �Easy,� Luke said putting his son�s hand down. �I�m just stating oveous. She could be lying.� �She isn�t because if Nikolas doesn�t want her then she is leaving without telling him. She would have told him if it was a ploy to get Nikolas back into her life.� �Ok, you know her better then I do,� Luke replied. �She make you promise not to tell anyone?� �Yeah, and that puts me in a bad place if she leaves without telling him. Either way, I�m hurting someone I care about!� Lucky said sadly as he picked up another rock and threw it into the lake. �Yeah, it does. What are you going to do about it?� Luke asked standing up and looking over the ground for a smooth rock to skip across the water. �I don�t know, yet,� Lucky admitted. �I do know either way there is a little baby that is going to get hurt.� �Yeah, it sad but true,� Luke said as he skipped his rock. �Dad? Which side would you be on in this? Gia�s or Robin�s?� Lucky asked. �Neither side. It is up to Nikolas who he loves,� Luke said as he skipped another rock. �Oh, come on. Nikolas is dull around Robin,� Lucky groaned as he dropped back into the dirt. Luke just smiled and said, �Yeah, but he is the one that has to live with one of them. You don�t!� Lucky nodded and said, �Yeah, I guess I�m thinking of the baby more then I�m thinking about Nikolas or Gia.� �It is their life,� Luke told his son. �You have to let them make their own mistakes!� �Speaking of relationships. How are you and Emily doing?� Luke asked. Lucky rolled his eyes. �Emily is great. It is me that is the trouble. I�m having a bit of trouble forgetting about Alice,� Lucky admitted. �So, still no go,� Luke said smiling. Luke was the only one that knew Lucky still had trouble forgetting about Alice. Lucky did ok sometimes but when he tried to get close to Emily something kicked in on him and he locked up. Luke was hoping that sooner or later the talks with Kevin would help his son put all of this behind him. �No, I try but it don�t work. I do ok at least when I start out but somewhere along the line. I remember what Alice did to me and lock up,� Lucky sad sadly. �BJ and Josh do more then Emily and I do.� �Don�t worry, Cowboy. You just have to give it time. Your young,� Luke said patting his son on the back. �Dad, did you ever have trouble?� Lucky asked. At first Luke didn�t reply then he said, �After your mom and me got back together after I got out of prison.
