| Chapter 50 Gia was walking around the grounds later on that day thinking about the fight she had with Nikolas. It was strange but in St. Petersburg they didn�t fight. Then again they didn�t have time to fight. Nikolas was to busy helping Lucky from making a fool of himself. They hardly time for each other. You would think now that they were alone they would work on repairing the damage to their relationship not making it worse. They did though this morning. The only plus was Nikolas didn�t deny that he had feelings for Robin. Gia didn�t know if this was a step towards something or not. Gia wondered into the garage in her wonders and found Lucky working on his car. He had three little helpers at his feet. Michael, Victoria, and Tasha all trying they best to help Lucky with his car. �Hi,� Gia said putting a fake smile on her face. �Hi, why aren�t you with Nikolas?� Lucky asked. �He is giving Robin rugby lessons,� Gia said having trouble hiding the hate in her voice towards the young woman. �Oh,� was all Lucky said. He just went back to work on his car. Gia sat down and watched as Lucky worked and the kids helped or tried to. Gia couldn�t help but notice that Lucky was good with kids. All the time she known him, he never once yelled at his sister or bit her head off for something she did. He was the same way with these three. Gia knew by just watching him that one day he would make a good father. About half an hour later, Sonny and Jason wondered into the garage looking for their missing kids. �There you are,� Jason said noticing the three figures by Lucky�s feet. �Hi, daddy,� Victoria said smiling as she handed Lucky a wrench. It wasn�t the one he wanted but he took it anyway. �I think Lucky can work on his car by himself,� Sonny said smiling as he bent down to pick his daughter up. �How about we go for a swim?� �I don�t want to swim. I want to help Lucky,� Michael said looking up at his father. �You can hang out with Lucky later,� Jason said taking both kids by the hands. �Please,� Victoria begged. �I�ll join you in a bit. As soon as I get this oil changed,� Lucky promised. �You mean it?� Michael asked him. �Yeah, I mean it,� Lucky said laughing. �Ok,� the twins said as their father took them out of the garage. Gia laughed after they were gone and said, �I think you have three new fans.� �I think so too,� Lucky said smiling. He looked at Gia intently and asked, �What�s wrong?� �Your brother,� Gia snapped. �What did he do now?� Lucky asked as he picked up a rag and wiped his hands on it. Then walked over and joined Gia on a bench near the back wall. �We got into a fight. He told me that he has feeling for Robin or that how I took things,� Gia admitted sadly. Lucky debated on something. He knew he should stay out of it but then again Nikolas was his brother and Gia was good friend. It was hard to stay out of any of this. �Don�t you have feelings for Zander?� Lucky asked bluntly. �No,� Gia said. �Come on. I see two together. Nikolas and Robin head off and you and Zander pare up,� Lucky told her. Shocked that she would actually think of lying to him about all of this. Gia laughed and said, �Lucky, I have been trying to make him jealous. I want Nikolas to get mad but he just smiles at me and says that is fine. Lucky, what do I do to get Nikolas to pay attention to me!� Lucky finally understood or part of this. Nikolas didn�t know who he loved. He didn�t know if it was Gia or Robin. He was drawn to both of them. He just didn�t know which one he wanted. Then there was Zander, who Lucky knew liked Gia but Gia didn�t like him. She was using him to get Nikolas to notice her but so far that wasn�t working. Lucky put his arm around his friend and said, �Move out of that bed room. I�ll have the staff get another room. Tell Nikolas when he is ready to pick between you and Robin then has come to you. Playing this game is only making things worse for you and Nikolas.� �It has got worse,� Gia admitted. �What do you mean?� Lucky asked looking at her with a puzzled look on his face. �I�m pregnant,� Gia told Lucky. �Your what?� Lucky asked looking at Gia in shock. �Yeah, I found out before I came here. I haven�t Nikolas yet and before you ask the baby is his but I don�t what him to know about it until I�m sure he loved me!� Gia told Lucky. �Gia,� Lucky said not knowing what to say to her. �I know. I should have been smarter and I didn�t plan on it. This wasn�t to trap Nikolas,� Gia said. �I know you would never do that,� Lucky said as he put his arms around Gia and held her close. He didn�t know what to say to her about this. What could he say to her? Gia dried her eyes after a bit and looked at Lucky. �Please don�t tell anyone about this?� Gia begged him. �I won�t,� Lucky promised. He knew keeping a secret from his brother was wrong but Gia was his friend. He also knew Nikolas had to decide who he loved not because of the baby but because of his feelings. �But what are you going to do? You can�t hide this from Nikolas forever!� �If Nikolas doesn�t want me then I�m not going to tell him about the baby,� Gia admitted. Lucky�s jaw dropped open. �Why not?� Lucky asked her. �Because like I said, I don�t want Nikolas to love me because of this baby. I want him to love me for me. If he picks Robin then me and this child are on our own,� Gia said and with that she got up and walked way. Lucky sat there thinking for a long time about his promise. Right, Gia was here and that meant Nikolas had a shot of doing the right thing. The problem was then, if he picked Robin then was Lucky going to have to brake a promise to a good friend or lie to his brother? ************************************ Half an hour later everyone went swimming in the lake. The twins were hanging around Lucky like little leaches. Tasha had tried but when the group went to the docks, Alexis forced her to stay on the beach. Jason went out to the docks with the kids for awhile to please them. It was either that or listen to them yell about not being able to be near Lucky. �Come on, Lu jump in,� Lucky said to his sister who refused to jump into the lake. �Its icky,� Lu said looking at the grass that floated across the top of the water. �It�s a lake,� Lucky said laughing. Lu had moved forward just a bit to check things out. Lucky got an evil look in his eye and gave her shove. Lu went in and quickly went back up. �Lucky!� Lu said brushing he wet hair out of her eyes. �You are a meanie!� Lucky bet down to help Lu up on the docks. �Sorry, sis,� Lucky said laughing as he helped her back on solid ground. He was starting to stand up when Zander and Nikolas came up behind him giving Lucky a shove. Lucky went in the water on his back. Lu stood there laughing while her brother vanished under the water. Everyone was laughing until Lucky didn�t come back up. Zander and Nikolas looked all over the deck. �Ok, Lucky the joke is over. Show yourself,� Zander said waiting for Lucky to come up. �Where is he?� Victoria asked bending down near the spot where Lucky vanished. At first all the child saw was the dark brown water, then she spotted Lucky�s hand waving in the water. �There he is,� she said pointing to the water. Jason, Zander and Nikolas looked into the water. All them got the same thought at the same time. They knew Lucky was either hurt or trapped because he wasn�t waving. He was just floating there limp. The three men jumped into the water at the same time. Lu had been looking there as well. She saw her brother the same time they did. She let out this blood-curdling scream that caught everyone�s attention. �LUCKY!� Luke was rubbing Laura�s back with suntan lotion when Lu�s scream caught their attention. It didn�t take Luke long to realize that something was wrong. He jumped up and ran towards the water. Laura was close behind him. �Where is he? Laura asked not seeing her one of her sons. Luke didn�t hear Laura�s question. He was already heading out in the water going towards the dock. By the time Luke got there, Jason, Nikolas and Zander pulled Lucky from the water. He wasn�t breathing. �Grab him,� Zander ordered Robin. Robin, BJ and Josh pulled Lucky out of the water. The moment Lucky was on the docks. BJ and Robin did CPR on him. It didn�t take a lot to get him breathing again. Jason, Zander, Nikolas and Luke all climbed up on the docks the moment the lake water came coughing up out of Lucky�s lungs. �Lucky,� Lu cried falling into her brother�s arms. �I�m ok,� Lucky said finally as he got air back into his lungs. �What happened,� Luke asked bending down beside his son. �I don�t know. I got caught by something and I couldn�t get free,� Lucky said rubbing his back. It burnt for some reason. He felt something grab him there but didn�t know what it was or why it hurt. �Lucky�s leg had wrapped around one of the chains that tie the dock down,� Jason told Luke. �It looks like it tried to take a chunk out of him as well,� Josh said rubbing his hand over Lucky�s back. �Hey, that hurts,� Lucky snapped at his friend. �Ok, lets get you back to dry land,� Luke said helping his son to his feet. He noticed Laura pacing the beach looking on with a worried look on her face. �I�m not in the mood to swim back,� Lucky said noticing the distant. �Use the raft,� Jason told Lucky. He figured Zander and Nikolas could help him get the kids back. �Thanks,� Lucky said and with a little help from his father. He got on to the raft and used it to start paddling back. Luke did have to do most of it. Lucky was just a bit too weak to get back to dry land on his own. �You ok?� Laura asked rushing out into the water the moment Lucky got closer. �Yeah, I�m fine,� Lucky said sounding a little worn out. �Let�s get him back to the house,� Luke said as he helped Lucky off the raft and with Laura helping. Together they helped Lucky back towards the house. ***************************** Mikkos and Ruby were sitting on the patio near the back of the castle when Luke and Laura arrived with Lucky between them. �What happened?� Mikkos asked noticing how white Lucky looked. �I took in a lung full of lake water,� Lucky joked. He felt sick and really worn out. Joking was Lucky�s way of telling people that he was ok because right then he didn�t feel ok! �What?� Ruby said going towards her grandson to help get him into a chair. Luke smiled as Ruby took Ruby�s arm and sat him in her chair. It was Laura that explained to Ruby and Mikkos what happened down at the docks. �I�ll get that chain checked out,� Mikkos said in a tight voice. Stefan�s words came back at him right then. Nakita came to mind and how the kid died. He died in that lake. It took a lot of Mikkos sounded mind to remind himself that this was an accident. Lucky and Nakita are nothing a like. There were two different people. �I�ll go get Alex,� Ruby said walking way right then. Lucky didn�t comment. He just laid his head down on the table and waited for Alex to come to him. **************************** Stefan heard about Lucky�s accident. He stood in the watching while Alex checked Lucky over. He noticed his father watching as well. Stefan wondered if Mikkos now regretted coming here now. Stefan heard Alex say to Lucky. �I don�t know what cut you but it looks like someone has really sharp claws.� �I don�t care what got me,� Lucky said sounding worn out. �I can say it hurts like hell!� Alex smiled at Lucky as she cleaned things up. �Why don�t you go lay down a bit. You took in a lot of lake water.� �Ok,� Lucky said not up to fighting her. He stood up and started towards the stairs. Laura went with him. She figured she hover near by at least until he was fast asleep. Stefan mean while followed his father out of the room and into one of the side rooms. �I don�t want to hear it,� Mikkos told Stefan. �So, you thought about it,� Stefan commented coldly. �Nakata and Lucky are nothing a like. This was an accident!� Mikkos said but something in his tone of voice didn�t sound to convincing. �What about the rats?� Stefan asked. �What about them?� Mikkos snapped. �Father, please. You are talking to someone that knows this family�s history. I know for fact two young kids died in that room where the twins and Tasha are sleeping. They were attacked in the middle of the night by several rats. If it wasn�t for Lucky, those kids could have gotten really hurt.� Stefan pointed out to his father. �Stefan,� Mikkos said sounding very impatient with Stefan. �You can leave. You can take Bobbie and her kids with you. I just don�t want you to tell the others about this silly curse of yours. All it will do will scare the kids and get the women worked up over nothing!� Stefan shook his head and said, �I�m not going because sooner or later things are going to get bad. And I feeling you are going need me.� Stefan walked away then. He didn�t know what was going to happen next but he knew it wasn�t going to be good. Chapter 51 Back to Trials of Love |
