| Chapter 46 Laura left Luke to sleep after getting home from the hospital. She was walking down the hall when Lucky and Lu ran up to her. �How�s daddy?� Lu asked with a worried look on her face. �Yeah, why didn�t you call? What did Alex say?� Lucky asked getting this empty feeling in his stomach noticing the look on his mother�s face. Laura smiled this sad smile at her kids. She took them by the hand and guided them into Lucky�s room. As they sat down on the bed. Lucky said, �Mom, your starting scare us. What�s wrong with dad?� �For starters Alex says in time he will be fine,� Laura said wrapping her arms around both Lucky and Lu. �What about now?� Lu asked with tears pooling in her big blue eyes. Laura hugged her daughter and said, �Daddy is resting. The test took a lot out of him and he didn�t get much sleep last night.� �And?� Lucky asked feeling that his mother was avoiding telling them what was really wrong with their father. Laura smiled at Lucky and said, �Your father will be fine. Yes, they found a tumor but Alex says it is small. The reason he hurts so much is because where it is located. She gave your father something for the pain and something to help dissolve the tumor. Alex and your father will fly back to the hospital every now and then to run test to keep track of the tumors size.� �That�s it?� Lucky asked having trouble believing that there was no real danger to his father�s life. �That is it. It is very small,� Laura said hugging both kids with a relief look on her face. �Now, both of you stop fretting.� �Ok,� Lu said. �Lucky?� �Yeah, As long as you�re lying to us.� �I�m not. This tumor is in a totally different place then your grandfather�s was. Your father isn�t going to have the same psycho events that Mikkos had,� Laura said. �Ok,� Lucky said finally believing that his mother was telling them the truth. �Good,� Laura said kissing both her kids on the cheek. She then left them both alone for awhile. She wanted to rest a bit before she was forced to get ready for the ballet. She would have loved to skip the event all together but Lucky and Lu would be going and she didn�t want to force the kids to go when she was home resting. So, she would buck up and endure Sleeping Beauty. After Laura left the room, Lu looked up at her brother with a smile on her face. �I guess Daddy isn�t going to see Sleeping Beauty with us.� �No, he gets to be the lucky one and gets to stay home,� Lucky said smiling. �Why? I like Sleeping Beauty,� Lu said. �Ah, Lu this isn�t the movie,� Lucky said smiling at his sister. �It isn�t?� Lu said not understanding what Lucky was getting at. �No,� Lucky said and he told Lu what to expect with tonight�s show. Lu didn�t like it any more but Lucky had this idea. He told Lu to take along her backpack and he told her what to put in it. Lucky figured if he was going to be forced to sit through a ballet then he was going to have something alone to keep him busy. It wouldn�t hurt also to find something to keep Lu busy as well. **************************************** Lucky found BJ and Josh in the living room on the couch. Josh�s hand was up BJ�s dress. The couple was really going at it. Lucky would have backed out of the room but the problem was that Lucky had passed Stefan in the hall. He knew that if they got caught like this they both would have gotten it. �Hey you two. Stefan�s coming,� Lucky exclaimed as he closed the door behind him and jumped into a chair. Josh almost jumped out of his skin as he sat up quickly. BJ quickly covered herself and with the help from Josh covered up what they were doing. Lucky started talking about what his mother just told him about his father. Right as Stefan walked into the room. He didn�t have clue what he almost walked in on. �Mrs. Lansberry, said supper will be ready soon.� �Ok,� BJ said smiling as she watched Stefan gather up the newspaper that Mikkos left laying on the coffee table to take into his den to read it before supper. �How is your father?� Stefan asked Lucky. �Ok, I guess. Mom said that Alex thinks there is nothing to worry about,� Lucky said. �Well, I hope so,� Stefan said patting Lucky on the shoulder before leaving with his paper. The moment Stefan was gone everyone sighed and dropped back into their seats. �Thanks,� Josh said relieved that they didn�t get caught. �No problem but next time do that in your room,� Lucky said smiling at the couple. �It didn�t start out that way,� BJ said blushing. �No but it always ends up that way with the two of you,� Lucky said and this did laugh. �I�ll remember that when I walk in on you and Emily,� BJ said throwing a pillow at Lucky. Lucky caught it with one hand and tossed it behind him. �Chill, BJ!� Lucky said laughing. �I was just kidding.� �Sorry,� BJ said. She was wishing her parents would just except the fact that she was growing up. The problem was Stefan was a bit old Fashioned and her mother knew to much about the dangers out there. She was worried that BJ would get hurt. �No problem,� Lucky said putting his feet up on the coffee table. �Speaking of Emily, have you heard from her?� �Yeah, I talked to her right before you came home. She told me to tell you that she is going to spend the day shopping. It seems that she still hasn�t found the right dress for Grandfather�s Wedding!� BJ said giggling. �She still looking?� Lucky said shocked to hear this. �Yeah, nothing seems fit her right or fit the occasion,� BJ said as she leaned back and placed her head in Josh�s lap. �I think I�m going to make some calls to solve her problem but before I leave supper is almost ready. So, don�t get to carried away,� Lucky said with a knowing smile on his face as he winked at Josh and left the room. ***************************************** Later that evening, Carly leaned against Jason sighing happy. �I�m so glad that the kids wanted us home.� �Did you instigate their fit?� Jason asked his wife looking down at her with a knowing look. �Who me?� Carly said innocently. �Yes, you,� Jason said not sounding to made at her. He didn�t want to go to the ballet either. Sonny helped a limping Alexis into the room. She had busted a heel of her shoe chasing after Tasha. The bad thing was that she twisted her ankle. Sonny didn�t feel right in leaving her home alone. So, he offered to stay with her. Carly and Jason watched the couple with a puzzled look on their face. �I thought it was right ankle?� Carly asked as Sonny helped put Alexis� left leg up on a pillow. Alexis and Sonny looked at each other then Alexis said, �I guess since they are gone. I don�t have to pretend any more.� �You sneak,� Carly said giggling. �You did it too,� Sonny said sitting down on the love seat next to his wife. �So, since we are all lairs. What do we do now? Watch a movie? Eat pop corn?� Alexis asked the group. �Why not,� Carly said. �Who picks?� Jason asked. He didn�t know what would be worse going to the ballet or watching a girl movie. �Why don�t we watch something we all agree on,� Sonny suggested thinking the same thing Jason was at this moment. The last time the four of them went to a movie. Carly and Alexis picked and it was nightmare for Jason and Sonny. They never have been so board in their life. �Ok,� Alexis laughing. �I think the DVDs are over there,� Alexis said pointing to the cabinet near the TV that was located on one side of the room. Jason got up and started towards the cabinet. He had this feeling picking out the movie wasn�t going to be as easy as getting out of going to the ballet. **************************** In the private box way above the crowd below, the teens with Lu and Lucas sat up front while the adults sat in back everyone but Victor. Victor sat behind the group with Zander. They had their eyes out for trouble more then to watch a ballet. Ever since the Suite was searched in England and the house was bugged her. Victor was on the look out for any sign of trouble. He didn�t know what was going on but he was determined not to let it affect anyone�s vacation. As the house lights started to dim, Lucky put Lu�s backpack between them. He pulled out two sets of earphones. He took one and handed the other to Lu. They were hooked up to Lu�s hand video game set. Laura sat behind her kids laughing. She now understood why Lu insisted on bringing her backpack. She had a feeling that big brother had a lot to do with it. Laura couldn�t blame Lucky. She would have done it herself if she was his age. Josh leaned over and whispared to Lucky. �Did you bring anything for us?� Lucky kicked the bag over and soon all the kids were either listening to music, listening to a book, or playing video game from earphones. Mikkos sat behind the kids shaking his head and trying not to laugh. They had agreed to come and play nice for the people and the press but that didn�t mean they would sit through an entire ballet without finding something else to keep their minds occupied Chapter 47 Back to Trials of Love |
