| Chapter 42 Gia climbed out of the limo looking up at the grand hotel before her. �Wow,� she said taken back on this place. She had been in shock since Nikolas call yesterday. She was starting to think they were over for good until the call. She knew this was her last chance with Nikolas. She knew if she blew it here then they might as well end it. Gia wasn�t ready for that. She wasn�t going to let Laura be the one that ended them. So, Gia into the hotel with one thing on her mind and that was to show Nikolas that his mother was wrong about her. Gia walked up to the desk clerk and said, �I�m Gia Campbell! Nikolas Cassadine was going to leave word that I was arriving.� �Yes, he has,� the man said looking at the note on his desk. He waved at the bellhop that was near by and ordered. �Take Ms. Campbell to the Cassadine Suite!� The bellhop bowed his head and they were off towards the elevator. ************************** Lucky woke up before Gia arrived. He walked into living area of the suite and dropped down in the chair. He looked over where his father was laying and said, �I guess I�m not the only one that slept in.� �I�m not sleeping. My head is slitting open,� Luke groaned. He had this major headache that refused to go away. What makes things worse Laura didn�t have one aspirin in her bag! �You want something?� Lucky asked his father worried about him. His father never got a headache. �You have something?� Luke asked in desperation. �Yeah, I have 1000mg of Ibuprofen that Alex gave me after my accident. I brought them with me,� Lucky said getting up to get them. �You�re a lifesaver,� Luke said as Lucky went to the medicine while Luke covered his head trying to keep the light out. He had a feeling that this was his body�s way of getting back at him for playing prince. Lucky gave his father the medicine and then he went to order something to eat before calling Emily. ************************************* Lucky was on the phone when Gia arrived. Nikolas was in his room moving this around to make room for her. He came out when Gia was shown into the room. Lucky waved at Gia as she pasted. Nikolas gave the bellhop a tip and he helped Gia carry her bags into the bedroom they were going to share. �This place is huge,� Gia said as she placed her travel bag on one of the tables. �It has to be to fit all of us in it,� Nikolas said as he hung up the dress suitcase in the closet. �I wouldn�t unpack to much. We are leaving early tomorrow for Russia.� �Ok, I�ll just get a few things out for dinner tonight,� Gia said unpacking a few of her things. Nikolas nodded his head and he sat there on the bed watching her. �I missed you?� he said. �Did you?� Gia asked. She knew she was setting up for a fight but she wasn�t about ready to just forget everything that happened before left for this trip. �I guess I dissevered that. I know I haven�t been the greatest person to be around lately. I have a lot my mind and not just us. I don�t know where this is going. I can�t tell you that but I can say that I�m willing to give us another shot that is if you are,� Nikolas begged her. �I�m here. So, let�s try it but I have one thing to say before that happens,� Gia said coldly. �Ok, what is it?� �Your mother stays out of this. I might work for her but this is our life. I�m not going to keep my mouth shot while she runs me down any more. I don�t care if I lose my contract. I don�t care if I have to do wait on tables to get through law school. All I know is that I�m not letting her control my life any more,� Gia said coldly. �Deal,� Nikolas said. This shocked Gia. She wasn�t ready for Nikolas to say that he agreed. Nikolas was normally defending Laura and her actions. She wondered what Lucky said to him to chance his mind because he was the only one that she told about her feelings in all of this. ******************************** Lucky was on the phone with Emily while of this was going on. He took his food and the phone out on the tarries to talk. As Lucky popped food into his mouth, he walked to Emily about the events that have been happening. �Do you know who searched the place?� Emily asked. �No, not yet but Victor is on it,� Lucky said. �You sure?� Emily asked worried about Lucky. After his kidnapping, it took a lot to get the old Lucky back. He was a little jumpy about things and he hated being in closed places. He still hated it but only Emily was the one that knew about it. �Yeah, I�m ok. How things going with you? How are Al and Dylan getting along?� Lucky asked laughing. He met Al just before they took off for Europe. He liked the guy for most part. He didn�t like how he was looking at Emily but then again he wasn�t Dylan. Lucky hated Dylan. Lucky wanted bust Dylan. �Ok, I guess,� Emily said sighing. �That bad?� Lucky asked. �No, I�m just board really without you, Josh and BJ around. I like hanging out with the others but their not be best buds,� Emily said. �I know. I feel like a fifth wheel around here without you,� Lucky admitted to Emily. Emily laughed about this and she sat in her room talking to Lucky about lots of things. ***************************** The ladies climbed out of the limo pulling their shopping bags after them. �Father is going to kill us,� Carly said as she pulled the last bag out of the back. The trunk was full as well. They had gone a shopping spree but she started to think they went a little over board. �Why?� BJ asked. She loved shopping. She loved buying new clothes. �BJ,� Bobbie said grinning. �We are already over packed the way it is and now we do this?� �Well, I for one couldn�t help it,� Laura said. She took a peek at what Luke and Lucky had packed and realized the only suit those to had on them was the one that she had packed for them. She had to get something to ware in Russia. She didn�t think they packed anything in their other luggage that would have worked. �Well, that might save us from getting killed,� Alex said grinning as the ladies headed into the hotel. Carly and Laura picked up their messages that had been left at the desk as they went up to the room. Laura stood in the elevator reading her messages. �I�ll kill her,� Laura cursed under her breath. �Kill who?� Carly asked. �Gia. She took off after the shoot and now no one knows where she is,� Laura groaned. �That girl is so scattered brained sometimes.� BJ started to laugh. She knew were Gia was and she couldn�t help but wait for the explosion that was about to happen. �What are you laughing about?� Laura demanded of BJ. �I know where Gia is or where she is heading,� BJ said grinning. �Where?� Laura asked. �Here. Nikolas called her and told her to come,� BJ said. �He what? Why in Gods name would he do that?� Laura demanded. �You have to ask him,� BJ said. �I will,� Laura snapped as she exited the elevator and headed towards the suite. Bobbie looked at her daughter and said, �You know what is going on?� �More then you do,� BJ said picking up her packages and walking away. Everyone looked after her wondering what she meant by that. Laura walked into the penthouse slamming the door. Luke jumped up and glared at her. Laura didn�t notice him. She just yelled for Nikolas. �Nikolas get in here!� Nikolas and Gia were still in his room when Laura arrived. �She is here.� Gia said coldly. �Let me talk to her,� Nikolas pleaded as he got up kissing Gia before leaving the room. Luke looked in the mean time looked at his wife and pleaded. �Don�t yell.� �I�ll yell if I want,� Laura snapped at him. �Ok, I�m going to bed,� Luke growled back getting off the couch and heading into the room he shared with Laura. Nikolas walked out of the room at this time and Laura demanded, �Why did you call Gia. I thought you wanted some time alone?� �I changed my mind. She arrived this morning,� Nikolas said bluntly. �Nikolas, I thought we talked about this,� Laura pleaded with her son. �We did,� Nikolas said walking to his mother and saying. �Let�s go in here and talk. They walked into one of the side bedrooms. He knew the others were right behind his mother and he didn�t want everyone to over here what he has to say. As he closed the door, he looked over at his mother who was standing there with her arms across in front of her. �I know you are upset but mom. This is my life and I have to do what I feel is right. I have been listening to you and father for so long that I don�t know what I want. I�m going to find out what that is.� �Nikolas, I�m trying to run your life. I�m just giving you some motherly advice. I know how Gia is am around her a lot more then you are,� Laura said. �Mom, you are around Gia the model. I�m around Gia the person. Gia has a hard time with few people that work for you. She puts them at arms length because of it. I think you should work on being her boss and let me be Gia�s boyfriend,� Nikolas pleaded with his mother. Laura took a deep breath and sighed. She suddenly realized how she was sounding. She let a few things that she heard about Gia from the people that worked for her taint her view on things. �I�m wrong about what the others have said?� she asked Nikolas. �Yes, you are. I talked to Gia about that before you came and she told me something. You�re lovely photographer is the one that hit on her. She told him to get lost and I believe her,� Nikolas said. �Yeah, I guess that makes more sence. I guess I better go apologize to Gia,� Laura said feeling a bit guilty about all of this at this moment. She wanted to believe the worse in Gia and she did. She now started to realize that she should have been cooler headed about all of this. �It does and I know you love me. I also know that you want the best for me but I have to do this for myself. I have to know if Gia and me are going to work and if we don�t then it will be our doing. Not yours or anyone else,� Nikolas said giving mother a quick hug. �Ok, I�ll back off,� Laura promised and they went into the other room. Laura did talk to Gia and apologized for how she had been acting. She promised that she would change and if Gia couldn�t work with the photographer. She was going to find a new one.
