| Chapter 41 Lucky and Nikolas were walking beside the stables waiting as they waited for the all around champion to start. �So, when are you going to tell mom to stay out of your life?� Lucky asked bluntly. �What do you mean?� Nikolas asked looking at Lucky with puzzled look on his face. Lucky groaned. �Come on, man. Don�t lie to me! I know what she is doing! Hell, we all know the question is when are you going to wake up and smell the coffee!� Nikolas sighed. �She might be right about Gia?� �No, she isn�t. Gia is great person. You just don�t see it any more. You see what mom sees and that sucks. Look, Nikolas if don�t like Gia then let her go. Stop playing games with her but if you love her! Then go after her and tell mom to get lost!� Lucky said coldly as he stopped to watch the horses run around in their paddock. �Lucky, there is more then that. I don�t feel connected with Gia any more. I don�t know why. I just don�t. She always wants to run and I don�t,� Nikolas said as went to stand by Lucky. �I know. She told me. She wanted my advice but I didn�t know what to tell her because I don�t know you any more. Nikolas, you have changed on me and I don�t know what it is,� Lucky said sadly. �I grew up. I�m getting read to take over the family. Something don�t want to do,� Nikolas said coldly. Nikolas started to walk away but Lucky didn�t let him go. �Nikolas, if this family destroy you then I�m going to tell Grandfather to stick it. Because I rather have my brother then all this money,� Lucky said and with that he turned and walked the other direction. Nikolas sighed in frustration as he kicked a rock with his foot. He felt like he blew it. Nikolas looked up to see Ruby and Mikkos starring at him. �Sorry,� Nikolas said sadly. Mikkos kissed Ruby whispering something to her. She smiled at him and walked away leaving Mikkos and Nikolas alone. Mikkos walked up to Nikolas and said, �Let�s go for a walk.� Nikolas nodded his head and walked along beside his grandfather. �Nikolas, do you want to help Stefan run this family?� �Isn�t that what I�m suppose to do?� Nikolas asked. �No. You should do what you want to do. The question is do you know what that is?� Mikkos asked Nikolas. �I don�t know this what I have been trained for,� Nikolas said sadly. Mikkos stopped walking and looked right at Nikolas. �Don�t do what you were trained for. Do what you want! If you love Gia then fight for her but you don�t then go on find someone else. Don�t spend your life living it for someone else. I�m not doing this to trap you into running this family. I�m free Lucky and all of us from past. Nikolas, I love you. I want you to be happy. Find what you want and go for it!� �I don�t what that is,� Nikolas said sadly. �Then find it,� Mikkos ordered. �How?� Nikolas asked. Mikkos smiled and said, �I�m going to give you an order. You are not to help Stefan with this company until you can tell me who Nikolas is. If you have stay out of school for a year to find that out then do it.� �What about everything?� Nikolas asked his grandfather. �What about it? It will be there tomorrow and the next day. If Stefan needs help then we get him help. You don�t have do it. You have to do what makes Nikolas happy. Now, go call that girl of your and get her here. I don�t care what Laura wants. All I care about is that you find out if you love her or not,� Mikkos said as he patted Nikolas on the back. �I guess I better start there,� Nikolas said smiling. �It would be a start,� Mikkos said winking at Nikolas as he left his grandson to think about what he said. Mikkos found Lucky and Ruby waiting for him around the corner. �Do you think he will listen?� Lucky asked his grandfather. �He might. Do you have an idea on how help him?� Mikkos asked Lucky. �Yeah, I do. I have an idea on showing a certain foursome what they all want,� Lucky said with grin on his face as he walked away. �What does he mean by that?� Mikkos asked Ruby. �Let me tell you,� Ruby said putting her arm through Mikkos as they walked on. ***************************************** Lu was petting Foster�s nose taking to him about the up coming jumps. When three girls suddenly surrounded her. �Hi, Runt!� the oldest of the three girls said shoving Lu on her arm. Lu turned around. She stood her ground as the three girls surrounded her. �What do you want?� Lu asked with her hands on her hips. �What kind of name is Lu?� The fattest of the three girls said shoving Lu backwards. �What is it to you?� Lu snapped back. �You really think you are going to win,� the short one said shoving Lu a bit herself. �I am going to win,� Lu said her first clinched tightly at her side. �Yeah right!� the oldest one said getting right into Lu�s face. �You are looking at the winners of this round. You and that nag of yours will come in dead last. You are to chicken to even jump the bigger hurtles.� Lu didn�t back up. She took a step forward getting right into the oldest girl�s face. �I am not and I�m not a runt. Foster isn�t a nag. Now get out of here before you get hurt!� �Who going to hurt us? You?� the oldest girl said shoving Lu to the ground. �I am!� Lucas said coming to Lu�s rescue. He walked towards the girls and stood between Lu and the three girls. The odds might be with them still but the girls weren�t brave enough to take on the two of them. So, they just left laughing and calling Lu names as they walked away. Lucas helped Lu to her feet and smiled at her. �You ok?� �Yeah,� Lu said dusting herself off. Lu turned to Foster and said, �We are going to show them. Aren�t we boy!� Lucas felt sorry for those girls. They had done something that wasn�t too bright. They brought out her father�s temper. When that happened you might as well stepped back and got out of her way. ********************************* Lu was up next. One of the girls that were shoving Lu around was jumping at that moment. Lucas started to laugh and said, �Man she is a dummy.� �Lucas that isn�t nice,� Stefan scolded. �You don�t even know the girl!� �Yeah, I do. She was bulling Lu around, her and two others.� �What they do?� Luke asked getting a little offensive that anyone was shoving his daughter. �I heard them call her a runt and Foster a nag. They said she wasn�t going to win because she was scared to jump the final jumps. Lu said she would show them,� Lucas said giggling. Luke wasn�t smiling. He got a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach and looked at Mikkos. �Can Lu do those jumps?� She has tried but she locks up,� Mikkos said fearing if Lu tried now, she might actually hurt herself. �I�ll be back,� Luke said quickly getting to his feet and heading towards the staging area. �I�m going with you,� Laura said joining him. ********************** Luke and Laura arrived too late. Lu headed out just as they showed up to talk to her. As Lu road past the three girls she said, �I�m going to show you who the runt is!� Lucky looked after his sister with a puzzled look on his face as he asked, �What does she mean by that?� �She means they teased her and now she is going to try those last three jumps,� Luke said standing there as he watched his daughter start her program. �Lu,� Laura cried out but her daughter was out of ear shoot. She turned to Luke and said, �Why do these kids would have to have your temper!� she snapped at Luke. Luke groaned and asked, �Why is it when they do something dumb they are my kids?� Laura stood there with her arms across her chest and her eyebrow raised. �Ok, I know. I know,� Luke said shaking his head in frustration as Lu started to make her jumps. *********************** Lu guided Foster though every jump. Not thinking about how high the bigger ones were or thinking about failing. She was thinking about showing those girls up. As she cleared the last jump, the water hazard, she couldn�t believe she had done it. She road to the judges waited for them to let her go on then road back into the opening. She leaped into her father�s arms smiling; �I did it. I didn�t fall. I didn�t stop Foster. I just did it!� Lu cried out forgetting all about those other girls. �You sure did,� Luke said laughing as he placed Lu on the ground. Everyone wanted to say something to Lu about all of this but one look on her face quieted them all. What sealed the deal was when Lu�s scores were called out and she ended up with the highest score of the day. It would take a perfect score to beat her. Lu jumped up and down yelling that she had won. She quickly took off to go find her grandfather to tell him. She couldn�t wait for the others to follow her. ******************************* After Lu got her trophy that was bigger then she was, Mikkos took everyone out for dinner to celebrate. As they were leaving the restaurant, Lucky looked at his father and asked, �Can the rest of us skip the rest of the family thing and go to some club?� Luke shrugged and said, �Sure why not.� �Mom?� BJ asked grinning. �Ok, but don�t be out to late,� Bobbie said kissing BJ. The teens started to pile into one of the limos. The last thing Lucky said was, �Don�t think about following us!� He was looking at Victor. The guy had been up tight since they first life Port Charles. Lucky didn�t want to have him as a tail at all this evening. He just wanted to have fun without guards around. ******************************************* Twenty minutes later, Victor and the others arrived at their hotel suite. Just as the others headed towards their rooms, Victor stopped them. �Don�t move!� he ordered. �What�s wrong?� Mikkos asked his brother noticing the tight look on his face. �Stefan left his brief case on that desk not the coffee table,� Victor said pulling out his gun. �Many be a maid moved it?� Laura said smiling. �No, they wouldn�t opened the brief case. It closed when we left,� Victor said and he started to look around the room to check things out more carefully. Luke, Sonny and Jason realized he was right. So, they joined in running a check on all the rooms. Luke opened Lucky�s door and got a shock of his life. The place was a mess and Lucky�s travel bag was emptied out on the bed. �Victor come here,� Luke called out. Victor suddenly appeared over his shoulder and asked, �That normal?� �No, for most kids it would be but not mine. Lucky was trained to be ready to go any moment. This turned my kid into a neat freak. He would have left a room like this. It would have driven him crazy,� Luke said looking around the room wonder who had done it and what were they looking for. Victor went into the room to look things over. They are interested in Lucky for some reason or think he has something?� Victor said holding up a notebook. �What�s this?� Victor asked Luke. �Lucky, likes to write things down. He does it when he is board or on long trips,� Luke acting like the notebook wasn�t too important to anyone but Lucky. �Ok,� Victor said tossing the notebook back onto the bed. �I�m going to go find the kids and keep an eye on them. I don�t care what Lucky said!� As Victor headed towards the door, Luke said, �I bet that he spots you!� �How much?� Victor asked grinning. �Two hundred?� �It�s a bet!� Victor said as he headed out the door. Luke stood there smiling because he knew his kid. Lucky would spot Victor a mile away. If he didn�t, Luke was going to re teach Lucky everything he ever taught him. ************************************ Lucky, BJ, and Josh just sat down at the table out of breath. Lucky took a drink of his soda and looked over where Robin and Nikolas was dancing. Zander was dancing with some blond that he just picked up. �You see something wrong with this picture?� Lucky asked BJ. �Yeah, I do,� BJ said laughing at the sight. �I don�t get them,� Josh groaned. �Ok, we hang out together but I would never dream asking Emily to dance. These four are really starting to bug me. Most of the time they are together, Nikolas and Robin ended up getting in a conversation. While Gia and Zander end up talking. Why don�t they just get it over with and admit they are attracted to each other?� �Well, I normally stay out of everyone�s love life but this has gone far enough. Nikolas isn�t happy with Gia. Gia isn�t happy with Nikolas. Zander and Robin sibling bonding has taken too far. I think we should find away to show these four who they should be with,� Lucky said feeling very frustrated about what was going on. Gia and him were close friends. She called him to vent about Nikolas and being a model for Laura. Lucky knew from those talks that Gia asked about Zander a lot. As for Nikolas, well Lucky had noticed how often Robin and him ended up talking about things together. Robin always found a way to get his brother to smile and laugh. She also fit his mood swings a lot better. She was calmer and more in control. While Gia loved action and Zander thrived on it. He just couldn�t figure out why they didn�t see this. Why they kept up this charade for? �How we do that when Gia is of somewhere thanks to your mother?� BJ asked. She was always up to match making. It made it even better that it was those four. She was like Lucky. She thought it had gone far enough that those four didn�t wise up. �Oh, forgot to tell you? Grandpa ordered Nikolas to dump the family business until he can tell him �what Nikolas wants�. He also ordered Nikolas to call Gia and invite her here,� Lucky said grinning. He knew his mother was going to have fit about this but he didn�t care. He thought his mother was wrong on how was dealing with things. It was ok to guide Nikolas to who bests fits him but not by keeping Nikolas and Gia a part. It was just going to cause problems and Lucky knew it. Josh laughed as he asked, �Who is going to tell your mother?� �I don�t know but it might liven this trip up a bit,� Lucky said giggling. He knew his mother was going to throw a fit. It was unavoidable Zander, Robin and Nikolas came back to the table moments later and the group sat and listened to the music. Lucky got this feeling that he was being watched. He looked around the room and saw a group of reporters sitting at a table taking snap shots every once in awhile. He scanned the room more and spotted Victor. He didn�t know why he missed him before. The guy stood out like a soar thumb dressed in that suit. Lucky glared and said, �I�ll be back.� �Where is he going?� BJ asked. Zander gave the once over and spotted Victor as well. �Oh, no. I think Victor got caught,� Zander said with a sly smile on his face. Lucky was a hard person to guard because the kid had six sence about being watched. Victor had lost Lucky in the crowed of people. He was looking around when Lucky walked up behind Victor and said, �You stick out like a soar thumb.� Victor turned around and cursed. �Damn, this means your old man wins the bet.� �What did you think I wouldn�t spot you?� Lucky asked Victor as he leaned against the rail. �Kid, one of these days you are going to miss something,� Victor said joining Lucky. Let�s see if today is the day. You are good at spotting trouble. I�ll tell you what I see and if I miss something. You stay but if I don�t? You take a hike,� Lucky said with a grin on his face. �Deal,� Victor said thinking his luck and to change sometime with these two. They couldn�t be right all the time! Could they? Lucky smiled at Victor and said, �Get ready to leave. There are four photographers over in the corner near the door. The girl that Zander was dancing with is a report. I saw the tape recorder in her purse. The guy sitting at the bar is talking into his pen. He works for the WSB. Did I miss anything?� �No, you got them all. How did you know he was WSB?� Victor asked. Lucky laughed and said, �He was put on us for a few weeks when we were running from Frank. Dad found him out and spent those weeks making his life a living hell.� �Figures,� Victor said and with that he walked away.
