| Chapter 32 Luke sat and listened to Lucky talk not only about the kidnapping but also about his relationship to Alice, Claude and Sam. Lucky didn�t pause a bit when he talked about Sam and Claude. It was when Lucky was forced to talk about the nurse that Luke saw a change in Lucky. All this did was reinforce Luke�s theory that Lucky was hiding something. So, after showing Dara and Taggert to the door after the questioning. Luke went up to Lucky�s room to get the truth from his son. As Luke opened Lucky�s door, Luke found Lucky lying on his bed with his hands behind his neck looking up at the ceiling. �You ok?� Luke asked as he sat down on the edge of Lucky�s bed. �Yeah,� Lucky said in a sharp and lifeless tone of voice. Luke eyed Lucky closely and said, �You�re lying to me. You haven�t done that in a long time. The last time you did was when you were gambling. So, tell me, Cowboy, what are hiding?� Lucky rolled on his side putting his back to his father. Luke didn�t move. He just sat there waiting for Lucky to start talking. Lucky knew he wouldn�t leave. He had a hunch that something was up. His father would never give up on a hunch. He would sit there until Lucky finally told him everything. Lucky laid there for along time trying to build up the courage to tell his father the truth. When Lucky spoke, Luke had to fight to hear his words. �It only happened a few times. After awhile I managed to find a way around it happening again. You see when she bathed me she insisted that she should give all my muscles a rub down to help them keep active even if I couldn�t move around to freely.� At first Luke had no idea what Lucky meant but muscles. Then something inside his head clicked and all the pieces came into place. �Cowboy, are you saying what I think you are saying?� Luke asked. �Yeah,� Lucky said his voice hardly above a whisper. Luke got up hit the wall of Lucky�s bedroom with full force. He turned to Lucky and yelled, �Why in hell didn�t you tell me!� Lucky rolled over looked up at his father with tears streaming down his face as he yelled back, �I was ashamed. She told me that is what she should do. I don�t know anything about medicine. Hell, she could have been right! I tried to put up with it but I couldn�t. So, I asked you go help me in and out of the bathroom. Why do you think I did it!� Luke growled as he tried to shake off his rage. He didn�t want to yell at Lucky. He wanted to rip Alice a part. He finally calmed down a bit. He moved back to Lucky�s side sat down on the bed and pulled his son to him. �I�m not mad at you,� Luke said holding Lucky. �I know. I know who you are mad at but just leave it alone. I don�t want anything to happen to her and I want it forgotten,� Lucky said crying into his father�s shoulder. Lucky kept on telling himself if things would just be left alone all of this could just go away. He would totally forget it ever happened. Luke knew Lucky couldn�t forget about it. This left Luke with two choices and they were to either go after Alice for his own reasons or work on helping Lucky. Luke choice Lucky. He could deal with Alice later on. Hell, he could ask Sonny to make the woman�s life in prison a living hell. That might be the best revenge that Luke could ever come up with anyway. �I will not tell your grandfather what you told me but I am going to ask Alex if maybe Alice was doing the right thing.� �What if she tells Victor?� Lucky asked looking up at his father with tears still pooling up in his eyes. �I�ll ask her not to. She will understand,� Luke said reaching up with one hand and using his thumb to dry Lucky�s face. �You sleep much last night?� Luke asked. �No,� Lucky admitted snuffling. Luke knew that Alex had left some sleeping pills for Lucky just in case he needed them. Luke got up went to Lucky�s bathroom took out the pills and got a glass of water. He came back into the room with his hands out stretched towards his son. Lucky took the water and the pills. Once that was done, he laid down. Luke sat near the edge of the bed again and said, �You sleep and as you said, lets put this behind us.� �Ok,� Lucky said and he then he rolled over on his side closing his eyes. Luke waited until the pills took affect and Lucky was fast asleep. He then stood up and left the room. He was going to go to the hospital and have that talk with Alex now. He needed to get his question answered before trying to figure out what he was going to do next. ************************************ Alex was working in her office when Luke arrived. He knocked at the door as he opened it. �Do you have time to talk?� Luke asked as he stepped into the room. �Sure, what�s up? How is Lucky?� Alex asked looking up from her paper work. �He is ok at least for the most part. He didn�t sleep well last night and I gave him those pills you left for him just awhile ago. I�m hoping he stays asleep for awhile,� Luke said as he took a seat in one of the chairs that sat across from her on the other side of the desk. �They should,� Alex said sensing that Luke was there for a particular reason. �Alex, I�m going to ask you something but I want you to keep it to yourself,� Luke said after a moment of silence. �Sure, anything. What�s wrong?� Alex asked. �Lucky told me something about Alice. He is very shaken up and before I try to figure out what to do about it. I need for you to clear something up for me,� Luke said and he told Alex what Lucky had told him. Luke was a bit more blunt about it then Lucky was. He didn�t want Alex to miss understand what Luke was getting at. So, he said in exact terms what Alice had done to Lucky. Alex was just as outraged, as Luke was when he first heard this, �No, Luke that isn�t what she should have done. Did she tell Lucky that?� �I think she did. He didn�t out right say it but he didn�t talk about it much either. I had a heard time getting him to tell me anything at all,� Luke replied. �Damn her. He was hurt enough and she had to make things worse,� Alex muttered as she got up and started to pace the room. �Well, now you know why I don�t want you to tell anyone this. Mikkos will really go off if he hears this and Lucky doesn�t want to make things worse. I don�t really blame him,� Luke said watching Alex pace. �Yeah, I agree. What you going to do about it?� Alex asked. She knew Luke had Mikkos temper and she knew how much Lucky meant to Luke. �Nothing right now. I�m going to work on Lucky. I really don�t know what to do for him though. I don�t think he really up to talking much about this yet,� Luke admitted. �Yeah, you know. He did talk to Kevin once and if you tell Kevin about the kidnapping and this. He might help,� Alex suggested. �Yeah, I have been thinking about that. I know Lucky likes Kevin and he did help Lucky get past a lot of old anger he had when this family started to get together,� Luke said. �Yeah, and Kevin might be able to help Lucky get past all of this,� Alex said. �I�ll do it and thanks for listening,� Luke said standing up getting ready to leave. Alex walked to Luke wrapped her arms around him and said, �No trouble and don�t worry to much about Lucky. He is a real fighter.� �I know he is,� Luke said smiling a bit at Alex before he left the room. ********************************************** Emily had first gone to see Lucky after school but Mrs. Carlson told her that he was still sleeping. The maid also told her that Luke had left strict orders that Lucky shouldn�t be disturbed for any reason. The maid had promised to tell Lucky that Emily was by. So, Emily went down stairs again to go home and wait for Lucky to wake up. When she walked into the penthouse, she got a shock of her life. Her mother, who had gotten out of the hospital, was home from the hospital and she had visitors, a house full of visitors. Robert, Jason, her father, several people she didn�t know and that Stuart from Luke�s the night her mother was hurt. �Mom, what�s going on?� Emily asked as she closed the door. �Em,� Monica said. Emily had told her that she was stopping by to see Lucky. She was hoping that Emily was going to be there for awhile that is one of the reason�s she agreed to have this meeting at her place. �Anything wrong with Lucky?� �No, he is just resting. I didn�t think you were do home until tomorrow,� Emily said walking to her mother hugging her as she looked around at the room full of people. �I wasn�t but something came up. I guess since you are here you might as well know what is going on,� Monica said as she wrapped her arm around Emily. �Em, this is the real Stuart Chandler. The man you saw at Luke�s that night is his brother Adam. Adam and his daughter Skye are plotting to take over ELQ. We are trying to figure out away to stop them.� �Adam�s daughter? You mean she isn�t dad�s?� Emily asked. �No,� Alan said. �Oh, I have a child with Rae hear and my father did sell that baby on the black market but it wasn�t Skye and in fact it wasn�t a girl. Emily this is your brother, Max.� �Hi,� Emily said unsure what to say about this. �Hi,� Max said smiling. �Em,� Monica said hugging Emily. �I know this is a lot to take in all at once. We will talk more about this later but for now we need to figure out what to do about Skye and her father.� �Well, they have Tracy�s proxy and AJ�s votes,� Alan told Monica. �They don�t have AJ�s votes,� Jason said smiling like the cat that swallowed the cannery. �Yes, they do. Skye admitted that she found AJ and bought them,� Alan said. �He can�t sale his votes. I made AJ sign his votes over to me when he left. I paid for them. If he sold them then to them he sold nothing,� Jason said smiling. �AJ must not be that bad to pull that stunt over on Adam,� Liza said smiling. �He must be hard up for money,� Jason said coldly. No one commented on this. Robert broke in, �So, they don�t have the votes.� �No, but they don�t know that,� Liza said smiling. �What you cooking up?� Tad asked her. �I think we should teach Adam and Skye a lesson they will never forget,� Liza said smiling. She then laid out her plan for everyone. ************************************ Luke talked to Kevin and then he went to tell Laura. Laura heard this and started throwing things. She was in her mother lion mode. It was the part of her that Luke learned a long time ago to back up and let her go. �How dare that bitch touch my son,� Laura yelled as she paced. �I thought something but getting mad isn�t going to help Lucky,� Luke told her standing near to door just in case she went for something harder then files on her desk. �Aren�t you mad about this?� Laura demanded. �Yes, I�m mad. I want to hurt Alice badly but Lucky doesn�t want it and I have to do what he wants. Angel, he is hurting about this. You should have seen him. I haven�t seen Lucky cry like that before. I talked to Kevin and he suggested that we do what Lucky wants. He said it will help Lucky open up more to us,� Luke said walking to his wife and wrapping his arms around her shoulders. �Luke, in our own home,� Laura cried. �I know. It bothers me as well.
