| Chapter 3 Jason and Carly were getting ready for work. The twins were running around them playing tag with each other laughing. �Ok, you two,� Jason said bending over and picking them up and swinging them around. The kids laughed as their father turned them around. Carly smiled at this as she finished getting dressed. �Jason, what are you doing today?� Carly asked as he put the kids down. �Working at the warehouse mostly. Why?� Jason asked. �I thought we get together for lunch,� Carly said grabbing for Victoria and placing her on her lap to hold the girl. �Fine with me,� Jason said kissing both his kids then he left the bedroom and went towards the front door. Jason opened the door and got a shock. Emily was standing there ready to ring the doorbell. �Em!� Jason said glad to see his sister. It has been a long time since he saw her. Mainly because of the tension between Alan and the hospital, Alan blames Carly for not getting back his job as Chief of Staff. �I thought I�d kill some time with the twins while Lucky gets fitted for his tux. You don�t mind do you?� Emily asked hopefully. �No, I don�t mind. I would love to stay and chat with you but I do have to go,� Jason said hugging his sister. �I know but tell you want. I�ll be around all day. I�ll make it a point to stop by to chat before going home,� Emily promised. �Sounds good,� Jason said and he left. Carly came down with the twins at her feet. �Aunt Em!� The twins yelled running towards the young girl. �Hello, Emily,� Carly said smiling. �Hi, Carly,� Emily said bending down and hugging the twins. �How are you two?� Emily asked them. �Fine. What to see my boo boo?� Michael asked holding up his arm. �How did you get that?� Emily asked looking at the little scrap. �She pushed me,� Michael said pointing to his twin. �I did not!� Victoria cried out. �Ok. Ok! We are not doing this today. Go in the kitchen and get your breakfast,� Carly ordered and the kids walked way with the nanny right behind them. Emily stood up looked at Carly and said, �Sorry not being around lately. I was trying to avoid some tension at home.� �I understand and I didn�t do it to hurt your father. I did what was best for the hospital,� Carly said. �I know,� Emily said and after saying good bye to Carly. Emily joined the twins in the kitchen. ********************************************* Lucky, Zander, and Nikolas all were at the tailors getting fitted for new tuxes for the nurses� ball. Lucky leaned back in his chair and teased his brother. �Nikolas, give it up you are not impressing anyone,� Nikolas had been trying to get the attention of the young lady that was working the counter of the shop. �You have no room to talk,� Zander said shoving Lucky�s shoulder. Lucky shoved back and the boys went on picking on each other. Once they were fitted for the tuxes. They left the shop. As they walked to the car and young woman walked up to them and asked, �Are you related to Mikkos Cassadine?� Lucky looked at Zander and Nikolas and laughed. He knew a reporter when he spotted one. He just walked to Zander�s car and jumped in the back seat. Zander headed for the driver�s side leaving Nikolas to deal with the young woman. �If you want to talk about the family call the house. I�m sure they will be willing to talk,� Nikolas said. �I tried that,� the woman snapped. �Then I can�t help you,� Nikolas said opening the door. �I just have a few questions,� the woman yelled as Nikolas closed the door and Zander sped off down the road. Lucky laid in the back seat laughing. �What is it with these people? Don�t they ever give up?� �You would think they would but they don�t. They always want to find out something that isn�t there,� Nikolas said looking back at his brother. �I wonder what it is this time?� Zander asked. �Who cares. Right now, all I care about is getting back to the penthouse and back to Emily,� Lucky said looking up at the sky seeing black clouds floating towards them. �Zander, I�d put this top up. It�s going to rain.� �You sure?� Zander asked looking up at the sky briefly. �Oh, yeah,� Lucky said smiling as lighting flashed off in the distant. ********************************** Tony arrived at the hospital about ten that morning. Bobbie arriving at the hotel had been bad timing. He had this big meeting with Alex this day to see if got back his job or not. If Alex heard from Bobbie at all, he might as well kiss this job good bye. No way would Alex side against Stefan on any matter! Alex was sitting at her desk working on papers when Tony walked in. �Am I late?� Tony asked as he walked into the office. �No, right on time,� Alex said putting down the file and looking at Tony. �Take a seat!� she ordered. Tony sat down and looked at Alex. �Have you decided?� Tony asked her. �Yes, and I�ll give you a chance but there will a be a few conditions. I know there is bad blood between you and Bobbie. I want to make it very clear that you keep your problems with her away from the hospital. If it comes down to keeping you or her. I�ll pick Bobbie. It will be simple as that,� Alex told Tony. �I understand and thanks for the chances,� Tony said glad to know that he had his old job back. �You have Sean to thank for that. He asked me to do this for him and after what he did for Anna. I owe him,� Alex said looking at Tony without much emotion on her face. �Well, thank you anyway,� Tony said and he got the information he needed when and what time he was going to start work. Alex showed Tony to the door and said good bye. As Tony was leaving, Carly had been coming to see Alex about something. Carly didn�t even give Tony a second glance as he walked past her. �Why was he here?� Carly asked Alex as they walked into Alex�s office. �I gave Tony his job back,� Alex said going to her desk and sitting down again. �You what? Do you know what he is planning on doing? He is going to try and get BJ and Lucas away from my mother? Why would you give him his job back?� Carly demanded. Alex was surprised at this news but not shocked. She knew what Sean told her on why Tony left in the first place. She knew what it would feel like if it had been hear getting the phone call. This was one of the reasons she gave Tony his second chance. �Carly,� Alex said looking at her stepdaughter. �We got a lot of heat when Alan didn�t get his job back as Chief of Staff. The Quartermaines have caused a lot of trouble saying we are buying this town. Anna is taking a lot of heat because of her connection to this family. If we turn down Tony for this job just because he is trying to gain custody of his children that will be adding fuel to the fire. We might as well give him a chance,� Alex said flatly. �What about my mother?� Carly asked. �I told Tony if his personal life keeps him from doing is job then he is out of here. Bobbie has a much better record with this hospital,� Alex said. Carly smiled at his and said, �Not bad. He messed up we fire him out right but if he doesn�t we can make his life a living hell.� Alex shook her head at this and said, �You are your father�s daughter.� �You got it,� Carly said and they went on talking about other hospital business. **************************************** Tony met Alan for lunch that very afternoon at the PC Grille. �How did it go?� Alan asked as he sat down across from his old friend. �I got the job,� Tony said smiling. �I�m surprised but pleased,� Alan said raising his glass to toast Tony. �Yeah, so am I. It is one battle that is going to be easy,� Tony said sadly raising his glass as well. �It didn�t go well with BJ,� Alan said reading the look on Tony�s face. �No, it didn�t. She was cold and hostile to me. I lost my cool and hit her. Which only made matters worse,� Tony said putting down his glass and shaking his head sadly. �Alan, I messed up. I should have been up front with Bobbie in the first place but then she was with Robert and I blamed everyone connected with the WSB for Frisco�s death. Now, that all of that is behind me, I have to fight the Cassadines to get my children back,� Tony said sadly. �Well, I�ll do my best to help you. The Quartermaine�s might not have the money the Cassadines do but we still have some connections in this town. We will not let this fight go easy,� Alan promised his friend. �Thanks, Alan. I really appreciate it. I just don�t know if it is going to happen. Lucas might forgive me. He was always a little more open to all this then BJ was anyway. BJ on the other hand never forgave me for betraying her that is how she saw it. She took the loose of Maxie very hard and I got a lot of that hate,� Tony said sipping his drink. �Tony, you are her father. She loves you. She will understand,� Alan said. �Alan, I know I�m her father but I haven�t been in her life for a long time. She might be to mad at me to listen to what I have to say to her. She might just brush me off,� Tony said sadly. ************************************ Lucky and Emily were playing Sega on the floor of the Spencer living room. �Watch it!� Emily cried as Lucky�s man knocked hers around. �You go to slow,� Lucky laughed as his man moved way ahead of Emily. �Oh, yeah,� Emily yelled and the game went on. Lu sat watching with from the couch as the two battled it out. The door opened right and Luke walked in. �Hi, Daddy,� Lu called out. �Hey, princess,� Luke said walking in and leaning over the couch checking on what the kids were doing. �Who�s winning?� �Emily is,� Lu laughed glad to know someone can bet her brother in this game. �Good for you,� Luke said smiling. �I�m going to get some shut eye. I have to close the club tonight. Cowboy, wake me up about four. Oh, and Sonny wants me to check in on Alexis. She was a sleep now but could you go over in about an hour or so to look in on her,� Luke asked his son. �Sure, no problem,� Lucky said getting 1000 more points closing the gap between him and Emily�s score. �Good,� Luke said figuring Lucky didn�t hear a word he just said to him as he walked up the stairs to the bedrooms. ******************************************* Lucky didn�t completely miss what his father was telling him but he was a little late in going over to check on Alexis. Emily and Lucky stood at Alexis and Sonny�s door ringing the doorbell. �That�s weird,� Lucky said turning the doorknob shoving the door open. As he walked into the penthouse, he spotted Alexis lying on the floor panting. �Alexis!� Lucky screamed running to his Aunt�s side. �Emily go wake my father!� Lucky ordered. Alexis was panting and in oveous pain. She winced as Lucky rolled her over and laid her on her back propping pillows behind her back. �What happened?� Lucky asked as he worked. �I don�t know. I haven�t been feeling well all today. I thought it was something I ate but when I woke up my stomach started to cramp up. Lucky, my water broke. I�m not due yet! Something is wrong with the baby,� Alexis cried trying hard to keep the pain from over taking her. �Oh, no,� Lucky said realizing that Alexis was in labor. �Ah, breath, Alexis,� Lucky begged looking behind him for some sign of his father. Alexis laid there breathing hard and trying to remember what she learned in her lama�s classes. The door opened and Luke rushed in. He took on look at Alexis and realized what was going on. �Emily call the for an ambulance. Lucky get me some towels,� Luke ordered. �How far along are the contractions?� Luke asked Alexis. �I don�t know. This can�t be happening. This baby isn�t do for at least three weeks,� Alexis cried. Luke shook his head and looked at Alexis. �Tell the kid that. Sweet heart you are having a baby,� Luke said helping move Alexis in a more comfortable position. As Luke looked to see how for along Alexis was he winced. He saw the baby�s head. �Alexis, the next time a contraction hits you push,� Luke told her. �No, this baby isn�t due!� Alexis yelled. �Damn it, Natasha! This kid is coming and it is coming now. Now do what I told you to do!� Luke ordered. Lucky placed the towels beside his father and asked, �What do I do?� �Hold her hand and when I tell you lift her up,� Luke ordered. Spite what she wanted, the next time the pain over took Alexis she gave in and did what Luke had told her to do. She gripped Lucky�s hand tight almost cutting off the kid�s circulation. Emily stood back with Lu watching in amazement as Alexis gave birth. To Alexis it felt like a life time and as she fell back into Lucky�s arms she heard this bellowing of a baby crying. Luke smiled at Alexis and said, �She has your mouth.� He took one of the towels and wrapped the baby in it. Then he placed the little girl in Alexis� arms. Alexis looked down at the red little life in her arms and fell completely and madly in love with her. ************************************** By the time, Sonny arrived at the hospital to find both his women fast asleep. The baby was sleeping in her bed beside her mother. Sonny looked at the little girl and like her mother fell in love with her. �Hello, Anastasia,� Sonny said bending over lightly touching the child�s face. �I�m your father.� Alexis opened her eyes and smiled. �You mad at me?� Alexis asked. �No. I love you,� Sonny said walking over to Alexis and kissing her. �I love you, too,� Alexis said and they sat there watching their daughter sleep just marveling and the new life. ****************************** Outside Alexis room hovered the rest of the family. Ruby was trying to keep Mikkos out of the room giving Sonny and Alexis private time with new daughter. �No,� Ruby said grabbing Mikkos arm and pulling him once again way from the door. �He had enough time with them,� Mikkos snapped dying to get near the first grandchild he was actually around when they were born. �It has only been ten minutes. Now lets go down and get some coffee,� Ruby said pulling Mikkos down the hall. Stefan smiled looking at Luke and said, �She really has a way of controlling him don�t she.� �Defiantly,� Luke said laughing along with Stefan. Alex walked up and said, �I just got done talking to Alexis�s doctor. Mother and baby are fine.� �That�s good,� Laura said as she wrapped her arms and Luke and thinking about the time Lucky and Lu had been born. It was strange how a new birth brought those memories on. �Why don�t we go down to the cafeteria ourselves,� Luke said. Everyone there nodded and they went down for coffee or drinks. By the time they got back, Sonny and Alexis would have enough time alone with Anastasia ************************************ While giving Alexis time with Anastasia, Jason spent this time talking to Emily. �How�s things at home?� Jason asked as he walked along beside his sister. �Dad is normal for now. AJ has stopped drinking again. I found find myself like him again. Mom and me are great and Lila holds us together. Grandfather, well, he�s still the same,� Emily said laughing. �I�m glad. I was worried about you for awhile,� Jason said wrapping his arm around his sister. �Things would have been a lot harder if Lucky hadn�t been around. He helped keep me level,� Emily admitted. �I�m glad. So, you like Lucky?� Jason asked playing big brother. �Yes, I like Lucky,� Emily said laughing and holding her brother. �Your still number one to me though.� �I�m glad about that and I hope he takes care of you but no matter how much you like Lucky. Don�t let him lead you into trouble,� Jason told her. Emily knew this was coming and said, �Lucky made sure that BJ, Josh and I weren�t in the car. Jason, Lucky was pushed into that race. He deals with a lot of crap being related to Mikkos. Sometimes, he loose temper and takes the bate,� Jason nodded and said, �I know. I hear a lot of this by the docks. Emily, we can�t change the past. We are trying to change the future. It isn�t easy,� Jason told her. �I know. I also know that most of what I hear on the news is lies. I have heard enough the lies enough being a Quartermaine,� Emily said smiling. �Yeah, I know the same lies,� Jason said smiling. Jason and Emily turned a corner and ran right into Alan and Monica talking together. Jason has been very open to his mother. Monica, Emily and Lila are the only family members allowed near his kids. Alan was another story. Alan�s addiction just fueled Jason�s will to keep him away the twins. �Jason,� Monica said walking up and greeting her son. �How you doing?� Jason asked hugging his mother. �Fine. The kids?� Monica asked just brightening and the mention of the twins. �A hand full,� Jason said smiling. Alan walked up and father and son glared at each other. �It would be nice if we see them,� Alan said to Jason. �You will not see them not as long as I�m alive,� Jason said glaring with hate at his father. �You let Victor see them. Why are we the danger?� Alan asked. �Victor has never given me reason to worry about him. You on the other hand have given me plenty,� Jason said with hate. �Don�t,� Monica begged both of them. �It�s not me. He is the one that believes his new family are saints,� Alan snapped. �No, but neither are you,� Jason snapped and he looked at his mother and sister. �I better get back. I�ll never get a chance with Anastasia,� Jason said kissing hugging both of them before leaving. Monica looked at Alan. �Why do start with him?� she asked her husband. �He works for them,� Alan snapped. �Alan, you are your biggest enemy. You destroyed your life. Not Jason! Not the Cassadines!
