| Chapter 11 A few days later, Alex ordered therapy for Lucky. He was now talking without almost any trouble but he still wasn�t able to move around freely. She was hoping that teaching Lucky�s muscles to move again would help him. Luke and Laura stood watching from the hall as Lucky fought to stand up for the very first time. �I wish he would let me be with him,� Laura said turning to Luke. �Angel, you know why he doesn�t. He wants to keep some of his pride. This is hard enough on him the way it is. So, how about giving Lucky what he wants and go get some coffee,� Luke said wrapping his arm around his wife and gently guiding her away from the door. They walked down the hall and headed towards the cafeteria. �Luke, have you talked to Lucky about this accident?� Laura asked as they walked. �No, I have been putting it off,� Luke admitted. �Yeah, hard to be mad at his recklessness when it cost him so much already,� Laura said sadly. �Yeah, doubly hard when you realize he got that reckless streak from me,� Luke said with a cocky grin on his face. �Yeah, that two,� Laura said smiling as well and hugging her husband. ************************************************ Nikolas and Zander walked into Lucky�s therapy session just as it was about to end. The nurse helped him back into his wheel chair and said, �You did good to day,� �Thanks,� Lucky said he was glad to ache all over. This was the first time he really felt like he did something since he woke up. �I�ll take you back to your room in a moment,� the nurse said. �Don�t worry about it. My brother and cousin will take me,� Lucky said pointing in the direction of Nikolas and Zander. �Ok,� the nurse replied and went to help out another patient. Nikolas and Zander walked up to Lucky and Nikolas asked, �You ready to get out of here for awhile?� �What do you have in mind?� Lucky asked the idea of being outside again was appealing. �You�ll see,� Zander said as Nikolas and him both pushed Lucky from the room. Lucky sat in his chair looking at them with a puzzled look on his face. He had no idea what they were up to but he knew those looks and that only lead to trouble most of the time. Zander and Nikolas went out the back away pushing Lucky alone. �Ah, guys. You do know I�m already in hot water with mom and dad,� Lucky said smiling at his brother and cousin. �Yeah, we know,� Nikolas said liking the worried look on Lucky�s face. It wasn�t to often that Lucky got that way. He normally was to at ease with things. Lucky didn�t know if he liked those looks and wondered if his parents would by a kidnapping story. ****************************************** Edward was at his office at ELQ when his detective walked in with a smile on his face. �Mr. Quartermaine, I think I have exactly what you asked for.� �Tell me about it,� Edward said putting down his pen and looking intently at the new arrival. �I�ll do better then that,� the detective said placing a file in front of Edward. Edward picked up the file and read it. As he did so a cold and evil smile came across his face. �Oh, this is good,� Edward said looking up at his detective. �Thought you would like it,� the man said. �Oh, I do,� Edward said pointing his desk draw and pulling out his checkbook. He paid the man twice the agreed amount. �A bonus,� Edward said handing over the check. �Thanks,� the detective said before leaving the room. Edward didn�t even notice the man leaving. He sat there looking over the file with a cold evil smile on his face. ************************************** Edward wouldn�t be smiling for long if he would have known what was going on at Spoon Island. Mrs. Lansberry showed a man into Mikkos� office. �Adam,� Mikkos said getting up and greeting his old friend. �Nice to see you again.� �Nice to see you,� Adam Chandler said smiling as he shook Mikkos hand. �Sit,� Mikkos, said pointing to a chair next to him. As Adam sat down, Mikkos offered. �What can I get you?� �Nothing,� Adam said looking at Mikkos intently. �What I want is to know what you want from me?� Mikkos smiled and said, �I have information for you that I think it is about time you knew about,� Mikkos said and he handed a file over to his friend. Adam read the file then looked at up at Mikkos. �Is this one of your games?� �No.� Mikkos said. �At least not about you. Edward Quartermaine family was responsible for my grandson�s accident. I was looking for a way to destroy the man when I came across this information. I knew what is like raising a child that isn�t mine. I know what pain this brings to a person when the truth comes out. I wouldn�t hurt you in this manner if I didn�t believe it was necessary to coming out.� Adam Chandler laughed and said, �Mikkos, you and me are cut from the same cloth. This might be the truth but you are doing this for me. You want something. What is it?� Mikkos smiled and said, �All I want is to see Edward Quartermaine suffer. I think he owes you for raising Skye. Don�t you?� Adam nodded and said, �Yeah, if this is true. I�ll check into it then I�ll get back to you.� �You do that but before you leave. My cook has prepared a meal for us. Let�s go in joy it,� Mikkos said smiling. Adam nodded and the two men got up and went towards the dinning room. ******************************************** Zander and Nikolas took Lucky out back of the hospital near a hug oak tree that was growing near by. Under the tree, Gia, Robin and Emily had set up a picnic. Josh and BJ were there as well. Lucky smiled as they neared the group. �Surprised,� Nikolas said smiling. �Yeah, you had me worried there for a moment,� Lucky said laughing. �Now we are even,� Zander said as they stopped the chair near the blanket and moved Lucky on to it. After Lucky was on the ground and the chair was out of the way. Emily moved beside Lucky. �This will be better then hospital food,� Emily promised. Lucky took a sniff and smiled, �BBQ!� �What else,� Robin said pulling open the basket and handed over a plate for Lucky all ready filled to the brim with food. As the teens ate, Lucky for got about where he was and what was head of him. He just enjoyed being his friends and having fun on the last few days of summer. Alex, Luke and Laura watched out of view of the group. �This was a good idea,� Laura said glad to see Lucky really laughing again. �Yeah, this is what he needs right now. Normalcy,� Alex said smiling. �You sure he is ok?� Luke asked. He couldn�t help but worry about Lucky specially after loosing him. �Yes, Luke. Lucky will be fine. What is wrong with him now is that he hasn�t moved body in so long that he kind of forgot how too. His speech is back to normal and his other injures have heal. So, I say in few days. It is time he goes home,� Alex said smiling when she got shocked looks from Luke and Laura. �Home!� Laura said having trouble being Alex had actually said that. �Yes, he might have stay down stairs until he is able to move around better but I think he will heal faster at home then in this hospital,� Alex said grinning. �Thanks,� Luke said hugging the doctor. �I owe you a lot.� �Just don�t hurt my husband to much,� Alex said smiling. �Deal,� Luke said. **************************************** Carly and Jason spent the day in the park with the twins. As the kids ran about with the nanny watching over them, Jason and Carly sat on a bench together talking. �How is your mother doing?� Carly asked. �Ok. Alan and her aren�t talking. I�m kind of worried that this might end their marriage,� Jason admitted. �I�m sorry. I might hate Edward and AJ but Monica has always dealt with me fairly. I wish things would be different for her,� Carly said sadly. �I do too. I keep wishing that Mikkos stop this but I know he will not until he brings Edward to his knees,� Jason admitted sadly. He might not agree with his grandfather but he was family. His family and this were hard on him but Jason knew there was nothing he could to stop it. �I wish AJ would just stayed out of this,� Carly said sadly. �Coming from a person, who won a great victory getting Edward off the board that is saying a lot,� Jason said eyeing his wife suspiciously. Carly smiled and said, �I know you might agree with what I did but I felt that I had to do something at the time.� �I know. I understand. You wanted to help your family. I want to do the same thing. I can�t stop this fighting but if my mother; Emily or Grandmother needs me. I�ll be there for them. I�ll open my home to them as well. I hope you will understand when that day comes,� Jason said hugging Carly. �I do and I�ll stand by you what ever you decided,� Carly said hugging Jason. �Thanks,� Jason said and with quick movement. He grabbed Michael who had been trying to sneak up behind his father. He swung the boy around sending out giggles and laughter from the small child.
