Chapter 20

�Luke!� Laura cried as the diner burnt. Robert ran toward the fire and tried to get inside but it was useless. The building kept on burning.

Everyone stood around watching as the building burnt and in fact Kelly�s burnt to the ground. Ruby didn�t care about the diner. All she cared about was the fact that she had lost look. She stood behind Laura resting a loving hand on her shoulder. Laura just cried uncontrollably while her heart went up in flames. Lucky and Zander both stood near by wondering what they going to do now. Both their fathers were gone and they had no idea how to react. Even Carly was crying as the building burnt. She didn�t know why but she was hurting just as much as Lucky was. Jason stood near in protective mood. He didn�t know what else to do like the others he was helpless to stop what was happening.

The fire had gone on for over two hours but finally it was out. The only thing left was the freezer that stood in the middle of the rubble. The fireman found three dead bodies but they were so burnt you couldn�t tell who was who. �There should five,� Robert said after the fireman told him.

�They could be so burnt we may never find them,� the fireman said.

Robert nodded and looked over at Laura as she watched the body bags being left out of the rubble. She was pail and she looked like she hated ten years. Then her got wide and she started towards the rubble. �Luke!� she said in a voice unbelieving.

Robert turned and watched as Luke and Roy walked out of the freeze. They didn�t even have a scratch on them. �I�ll be damned,� Robert said having trouble believing what he was seeing.

�Dad,� Lucky and Zander yelled at the same time and took off running towards their father.

Luke smiled as he got hugged and kissed by Laura and Lucky. �I�m ok,� he said smiling.

�You rogue,� Ruby yelled walking to him and hugging him.

�Thanks for putting that freezer in,� Luke said kissing his aunt.

�How?� Robert asked as he joined the group.

Luke laughed and said, �Mate, it is along story.�

�What about the contents of the box?� Larken asked he and Ford joined the group.

Roy and Luke looked at each other and laughed. �It went to Hell with Damion.�

�You blew it up?� Ford asked.

�That�s right. You might be able to put it back together that is if you find the pieces,� Luke said laughing as he walked away with his arm around Laura leaving the two agents standing their fuming.

A little while later the group was at Bobbies drinking coffee and listening to Luke�s tail on how he and Roy survived the fire. �Well, you see the bomb I put on a timer. Roy knew I did it. We had about three minutes to take out Damion his men and get our asses into the freeze.�

�We burly made it,� Roy said wishing Luke would have give them more time. He didn�t have to cut it so close.

�Wait you planned on blowing up my diner?� Ruby asked him.

�Yeah,� Luke said smiling.

�You rat,� Ruby yelled as she pounded on Luke with her fists.

�Ruby stop,� Luke begged as he blocked her blows with her hands. �I did it for a reason.�

�It better be good,� Ruby said stopping and glaring at him.

�Well, for one. I wanted Damion dead and the other was to hide that I had this,� Luke said and he pulled out from his coat the papers that were in the box.

�What is that?� Robert asked.

�Just the contents of the box that Ford and Larken want so badly,� Luke said smiling.

�Luke, you amaze me,� Robert said taking the papers and starting to the look them over.

�No wonder they wanted this stuff,� Robert said looking at Luke in shock.

�Yeah, the names of every cop and FBI agent on Frank�s pay roll and guess whose name is on it,� Luke said smiling at his wife.

�Larken?� Laura asked.

�You got it,� Luke said.

�I don�t believe it,� Bobbie said.

�Believe it sis. Roy and I thought he was bad but didn�t how bad and from what those papers say. Larken has been on the take for a very long time,� Luke said.

�To long,� Roy said still angry at the fact that Larken had been working for Frank ever since he started working for the FBI.

�What else was in there,� Carly asked.

�A letter for you from your mother,� Luke said and he handed the letter over to Carly.

Carly opened the letter and it read�.

Caroline, my sweet little girl,

If you are reading this what the doctors told me was true. I wasn�t able to survive giving birth. I want you to know that I never wanted to leave you but it looks like fate isn�t going to allow us to get to one another.

If you are wondering why I never told my mother who your father was it was to protect you. You see I know my father very well. I was his little girl. I know that he would use you to get to your father. I don�t want that for you or him.

Now, I don�t hate you father either because he doesn�t know about you. I was going to tell him the night we were going to marry. You see little one, I wasn�t just my father�s little girl but was just like him. I used who I was to get your father into my bed. He never loved me. He loved another and they ended up together. In fact, he put your grandfather in prison.

Now, don�t feel bad about that, because I hope my father dies there. He isn�t a loving man. He destroyed my half brother with is hate and in a way tried to destroy me.

You though he will never hurt. I will not allow it. You see I owe you one. You showed me how to love. So, I�m going to keep from him. The cost though is keeping you from your father. Like I said, my father will use to get to him. I can not let that happen. It is my way of paying your father back from giving me you.

So, little one when you read this. My father is either dead or my mother is. I hope it is the latter because I hate to think of her gone out of your life. Either way, you need to know the truth. So, here it is. Your father�s name is Luke Spencer. You can go to Port Charles and find his family. If he isn�t there they can find him for you.

Carly looked up at Luke and said, �You knew.�

�I figured it out,� Luke said smiling at the girl.

�You and Jennifer?� Bobbie said shocked. �You ok with this?� she asked looking at Laura.

�Yeah,� Laura said smiling at Luke.

�So, we are really related?� Lucky said smiling at Carly.

�You have to be,� Jason said hugging Carly. �You ok?�

�Yes, I�m fine. After everything has happened I know why she never said anything. I also can�t hate you but that doesn�t give you the right to boss me around,� Carly said glaring at Luke. �I�m my own boss.�

�We will see,� Luke said thinking he was in trouble with this one. Not only did she have his mouth but her mother�s temper. It wasn�t going to be a good not at all. Everyone laughed at this and Bobbie went make more coffee. She didn�t know what was going to happen next but nothing would surprise her in this family not one thing.
