| Chapter 14 After hanging up with Robert, Luke just couldn�t sit by and let Damion walked out of the no name. So, without out a gun and out of pure impulse, Luke stood up and yelled, �Freeze FBI!� Damion took one look at Luke and shoved a waitress in his direction. The woman fell against Luke and Damion took off. Before Laura could even get out of the booth, Luke was running after Damion. �Damn it!� Laura cursed as she stood in the middle of the restaurant. Robert showed up a few moments later with Taggert and his other men. �Where is Luke?� Robert asked but he knew the answer before he asked the question. �Guess!� Laura snapped. Robert groaned and walked over where Sonny was standing. �At least you didn�t run, Taggert take him down town!� Robert ordered. �What are the chargers?� Sonny demanded. Robert didn�t say a word. Taggert just handcuffed Sonny and took him away. Robert looked at Laura and said, �Let take you to Kelly�s!� �Thanks,� Laura said and they walked to the car. *************************************** Laura was up until late when Luke finally into the diner. �You didn�t have to wait up,� he said as he kissed her. �Did you get him?� Laura asked. �No, he got away but not for long. He can�t run forever,� Luke said coldly. Laura nodded and she leaned against him. �I just want this over with. I want to be able to start our life without worrying about Damion.� Luke smiled at her and said, �Why not start now? I�m not going to wait on Damion Smith to be locked away. We lost enough time with our son.� �What about Roy?� Laura asked. �Roy and I were talking today. We have can pool our money together get one big place. It will be big enough for Carly and Jason as well. I�m sure they will part of our lives from now on,� Luke said kissing her. �And what if Carly is your daughter?� Laura asked. �I don�t know. Maybe finding out where key goes to it might help. The FBI is still going through Virginia things. They will contact me as soon as we can go the house. Maybe there will be clue there,� Luke told her. �Until then we start over,� Laura said and they head upstairs. She didn�t know what to think about Carly but at this moment she couldn�t do much with her. Lucky cared for her and that meant she was stuck with her. Laura and Luke were heading upstairs when Luke asked, �Where is everyone?� �Bobbie has them. Roy is parked out front of the brownstone just in case there is trouble,� Laura said with knowing smile on her face. �I�m not complaining about being alone but my sister took all four of them and Tony didn�t complain?� Luke asked his wife. �Tony doesn�t mind Zander or the others. It is Roy he is having trouble with but then again Tony is at work,� Laura said smiling at her husband. Luke looked at her and she nodded her head. �It is Bobbie�s idea and marriage. I�m not even going to comment.� �Ok,� Luke said and he went upstairs with Laura thinking how long it has been since he really been alone with his wife. **************************************** Laura made a mistake. She sent Luke, Jason and Roy to find them a place to live. Luke came up with a firehouse. Laura around the old building in shock. �This is ours?� she asked hoping they didn�t sign anything. �Not yet but will be,� Luke said with a smiling. Laura wasn�t smiling. She looked at him like he was crazy. Luke walked around the building and said, �We lucked out. Jason here worked for a construction company. He knows the codes and how fix a place up like this.� �How nice,� Laura said still not sold on the place. �Angel,� Luke said pleading. �This is the best thing for us. We can convert this building into three separate living places. Jason can have his own place. Roy and Zander can have theirs and Lucky and us can have another. He didn�t Carly was going to stay. It was totally up to the girl. He just hadn�t asked her yet. Laura looked at Luke. �How much?� �200,� Luke said. �Thousand?� Laura said her eyes growing wide. �Yes, but Jason is going to save us on the labor. He will do must of the work himself,� Luke said. �Until then?� Laura asked. �We live with Ruby,� Luke said smiling. �Ok,� Laura said hoping that with little work the place will not look bad. She did look at the pole though and said, �That goes.� �Angel?� Luke pleaded. �I can see you and Lucky now. Forget it. It comes down,� Laura ordered. Luke figured talk her into keeping it. He had time. It would take Jason awhile to get to that part of the project. ***************************** Carly sat in the lunchroom board out of her mind. She hated school always did. What was worse she got stuck with Robin little Miss Sunshine. The girl was sickening. �So, what do you think of school so far?� Robin asked. She wasn�t happy about taking Carly around either. In fact, she hated the idea. Carly and her weren�t exactly the same type. �It sucks,� Carly said coldly. �You don�t school?� Robin asked. �You do?� Carly said not surprised that she liked it. �Yes,� Robin said. Carly shook her head in disgust. God, she wished she hadn�t promised Jason that she wouldn�t ditch. If she hadn�t then she would be gone by now. Things lightened up when Zander walked up and asked, �Can I join you?� �Sure,� Carly said glad that he sat down. She liked Zander. He had a hell of a lot of a better personality then Robin did. �You�re late?� Robin said. �Yeah, I got busted smoking in the men�s room,� Zander complained. �You smoke?� Carly asked. She had been dying for a cigarette and didn�t know she could have bumped one from him. �Yeah, Laura is going to kill me. She doesn�t know I do it,� Zander said holding up a parent slip. �I�m hoping that dad will be home and he can sign this.� �Smoking bad for you know that don�t you?� Robin asked. �Yeah,� Zander said in his I should care sounding tone. �Can I have one for later?� Carly asked hopefully. �Sure,� Zander said holding out the pack for her. �Thanks,� Carly said smiling. �So, what are you doing after school?� Carly asked hoping that maybe it would be a bit more lively then hanging out Kelly�s. The place wouldn�t be that bad if it wasn�t home. �I thought we go to Kelly�s,� Robin said. She knew it was safer if they didn�t do too much specially with Damion hanging around out there. Zander shook his head and said, �How about the fire house? I would like to check that place out.� �I�d like that as well,� Carly said smiling. Robin wasn�t smiling.
