| Chapter 7 Mikkos and Ruby were resting in the family room in the house of Russia. Lucky and Lu were working on their studies on the floor near the fire. Bobbie was trying to read a book and relax from her first day away from the hospital but for some reason she couldn�t. She hadn�t figured out why but she knew something was off. The phone rang everyone jumped. Lucky and Lu both looked wide eyes at the phone wondering if it was about their father. Mikkos picked it up and said, �Stefan?� Lucky and Lu both relaxed and when back to their homework. Bobbie just got tenser. �What�s going on?� she heard Mikkos asked. �What? Oh, God. How is she? Yes, I understand. I�m sure she would. We will be on first flight out.� �What�s wrong?� Bobbie asked her heart in her throat. �Bobbie, Carly was attacked. She is in the hospital. She is alive but Stefan thinks you need to come home,� Mikkos said sadly. �How bad is she?� Lucky asked looking up from his studies. �She wasn�t raped but he did try. She fought back and for that he cut her face up,� Mikkos said. �Oh, no,� Bobbie said tears running down her cheeks. �My baby.� �Go pack Bobbie. I�ll call the airport,� Mikkos said and Bobbie took off with Ruby behind her. Lucky looked up at his grandfather and said, �Your going back because of Uncle Victor.� �Yes, Stefan said he isn�t happy and I have to make sure he doesn�t do something stupid,� Mikkos said. �Don�t worry. I�ll be back.� �Take care Carly,� Lucky said. He hadn�t been close to Carly lately but he still cared about her. She was still a very important part of his life. He hated that someone hurt her like that. Mikkos nodded like he understood and he got up to take care of things. ************************ BJ walked into the door to find Stefan sitting at the kitchen table surrounded by files. �How was work?� Stefan asked. �Don�t ask,� BJ said going up the stairs without commenting anything else. �Oh, oh.� Lucas said from his place across from his father. �Yeah, it looks like realty hit our little girl,� Stefan said trying hard not to smile. BJ wanted to be a doctor at that is what she said but he never seen her as a doctor. It wasn�t the fact that he didn�t think she had the brains not to do it. He just didn�t think she her heart was in it. �I think I�m going to avoid her,� Lucas said smiling going back to his schoolwork. Stefan smiled and went back to his work. He knew when BJ was ready to talk. She would talk. She wasn�t shy about that. So, he figured he would wait for her to come to him. *************************** Laura was with Zander when Mikkos called from the airport. She was sad about what happened to Carly but at this moment she had her own troubles to deal with. Laura went into Luke�s room and found him sitting up trying to reach for the glass on the table. �Here, let me,� Laura said picking up the glass and holding it so Luke could take a drink. �Don�t have to,� Luke said in a broken voice. �I want to,� Laura said bending down and kissing him. Laura ran her hand over Luke�s cheek. She sat there talking to him and trying to reassure him. Luke deep inside wasn�t having any of it. All Luke could think about was how much of burden he was on his family and how it would be better off if he just died. ************************** Victor stood in the alley behind the police station. An officer walked out holding a file in his hand. �If I get caught doing this,� the officer said to Victor. �Don�t worry. You are being paid well enough to take this risk,� Victor said taking the file and giving it quick once over. The PCPD had nothing on the man that hurt his daughter. It didn�t surprise Victor one bit. He handed the file back and said, �You call me the moment anything changes.� �Yes, sir,� the officer said as Victor turned and walked way. *************************** Sonny and Alexis found out about Carly through the family grapevine. They went to the hospital to see if they could do anything. They walked into the room to see Jason sitting beside Carly�s bed. �Hey, pal,� Sonny said as he and Alexis walked into the room. �Hi,� Jason said sadly. �How is she?� Alexis asked. �She hasn�t woke up at all. Father said she won�t either,� Jason said as she rubbed Carly�s hand. �We are sorry,� Sonny said not knowing what to say to Jason. He knew how he would feel if it was Alexis. �Not your fault,� Jason said sadly. �Where are the kids? You need someone to look after them?� Alexis asked. �No, my parents are looking after them. Thanks for coming,� Jason said. Sonny and Alexis took the hint. Jason didn�t want anyone around. All Jason needed right at this moment is being alone with his wife. Sonny and Alexis walked out of the room and down the hallway together. �I feel sorry for them.� �Yeah but they will be ok. Carly is a fighter,� Sonny said gripping Alexis hand. �Yes, she is a lot like her father,� Alexis said. �Ah, speaking of her father. I wonder how he is doing with this?� Sonny asked. �You really need to ask that?� Alexis said raising her eyebrow at Sonny. Sonny just smiled and they went to the elevators down the hall.
