Chapter 15

Mikkos and Stefan stood in the middle of a group of press and other city dignitaries. They were talking about the future and what plans they had for the company. Mikkos leaned close to his son and asked, �Where is he?�

�He will be here,� Stefan said trying hard not to laugh at his father. This summer Mikkos had managed to separate the family money for the power of the prince. He also managed to convince Lucky and Luke to except their places as the princes. Ok, Lucky a bit more then Luke. In fact this evening Mikkos wanted or needed Lucky to the prince but so far Lucky wasn�t here. Mikkos was starting to fear that the kid just decided to skip the party all together. Stefan thought there was another reason why he was late and hoped it didn�t have anything to do with Luke.

Scott Baldwin stood by Marcus Taggert and Dara Jenson. They were watching off to the side smiling at the right times as the Mayor and Mikkos talked. �So, that�s the grand prince himself,� Scott said seeing some of Luke in the man. Their looks might be a bit different but Mikkos and Luke had the same personally. They both came off acting better then everyone one around them.

�Yes it is,� Taggert said coldly. He didn�t like Mikkos. He knew that Mikkos and Victor had bought off some cops in the precinct. It bothered him that those men acted like they ran this town and the trouble were they were close in doing so. All they had to do now is take over commissioners job and mayor and they had the city right were they wanted it.

�Where is his brother Victor?� Scott asked.

�Over there,� Dara said pointing to Victor who at this moment was standing next to his wife and talking to some of the doctors from the hospital.

Scott looked at Victor and the first thing he noticed was that Victor and Luke had the same facial features. Victor was dark skinned and had dark hair. Luke was blond and bit lighter skinned but they both had the same long faces and were about the same height. �Do you think you will ever prove that he had anything to do with either Damion�s death or Sam�s?� Scott asked Taggert.

�No, the Cassadines cover their tracks. I suspect that Victor was the killer only because of the information I got from Scotland Yard. They say that Victor was and most probably still is Mikkos go to man when he wants to get rid of someone. It was kind of conveniently that two of the four people that kidnapped the crown prince end up dead,� Taggert said coldly.

�And the other two plead no contest,� Dara added.

�Yeah, well. This will not happen when I�m in charge as DA. It is time to show the Cassadines that they are not in Russia any more. They do not and will not run this city like it is their own toy,� Scott said coldly.

�Good,� Taggert said glad someone besides himself was willing to stand up to the Cassadines.

Bobbie and BJ were standing off to the side near Scott and the others. They heard everything that the three said. BJ almost walked over and gave them a piece of her mind but her mother wouldn�t let her. �Well, let your grandfather to handle this,� Bobbie said to her daughter and the two walked away.

Nikolas and Gia were near the front door of the building watching for Lucky. It was Gia that spotted his Jag pull into the parking lot. �There he is,� Gia said to Nikolas.

�About time, Grandfather is driving me crazy asking if I heard from Lucky,� Nikolas said as he watched Lucky climb out of his Jag and deal with the press. Nikolas noticed that Lucky hate for the press has grown since he got back from Russia. Lucky gave them almost nothing of information as he walked past them. �He really hates them doesn�t he,� Nikolas said to Gia.

�Yes he does,� Gia said smiling as a cameraman shoved a camera into Lucky�s face wanting him to smile but all he got was Lucky�s best mimic of his father. The look that said back off buddy before I bust you one!

Nikolas and Gia stood off to the side as Lucky walked into the building. �Don�t those people have families?� Lucky asked looking disgusted at his brother and soon to be sister in law.

Nikolas and Gia smiled and Gia said, �That is why are there.�

�Come on forget about them. Grandfather is throwing a fit because you are late,� Nikolas said and the three of them walked into the party towards Mikkos and Stefan.

By this time, the Mayor called Scott over and introduced the new DA to Mikkos and Stefan. Stefan was alert about Scott. He didn�t like the guy. He didn�t like how he acted and he knew there was still bad blood between Scott and Luke. Stefan knew men Scott loved to carry out a grudge. �Finally,� Mikkos said as he spotted Nikolas, Lucky and Gia walking towards them.

�Sorry, I�m late,� Lucky, said noticing the look he was getting from his grandfather.

�It is ok. Mr. Baldwin. Mr. Anderson. I would like you to meet my grandson, Lucky Spencer,� Mikkos said smiling proudly with on hand resting on Lucky�s shoulder.

Lucky smiled as she shook Scott and the Mayor�s hands. �Nice to meet you,� He said acting politely.

�You look your mother,� Scott said smiling.

Lucky was taken back by this and asked, �You know my mother?�

�Oh, yes. I am a very old friend of hers. I don�t know if she ever talked about me but I�m Scott Baldwin!� Scott said smiling.

Yes, Laura talked about Scott and so did Luke. Lucky didn�t know what to say to that man that his mother was once married to. It was Nikolas that spoke for the both of them. �Yes, we heard about you and we are glad to finally meet you,� Nikolas said shaking Scott�s hand.

�Nice to meet as you as well. How is your father?� Scott asked he looked at Lucky.

�Dads doing great. He will be back to his normal self before anyone realizes it,� Lucky said finally finding his voice. He turned to his grandfather and said, �I�m going to raid the food table. I didn�t get a chance to have supper.�

�Sure and when you get done we will get to the ribbon cutting,� Mikkos said and Lucky walked away. Mikkos knew who by this time and like Stefan he was alert. He heard the hate in Scott�s voice as he asked about Luke. If this man wanted to go after his son then he was going to have get through him first. Luke wasn�t able to fight anyone. Mikkos knew this and he decide it was up to him to do Luke�s fighting for him.

�What an ass,� Lucky said as he walked to the table where finger food was laid out.

�Who was that?� Gia asked as they walked not understanding Lucky�s reaction to this man.

�That was our mother�s ex husband,� Nikolas said hoping Lucky would watch his temper. He knew about the bad blood between Scott and Luke. He also knew that Lucky would always felt compelled to defend his father specially when Luke couldn�t defend himself.

�Oh,� was all Gia said. She heard the stories. Nikolas told her about his mother�s past life before Luke, Stavros or Stefan. Now that Gia met Scott, she knew why Laura devoiced him. He was a real jerk.

Later on in the evening, Victor had gone off to check things out with his security team. He was walking down the hall when suddenly he was grabbed from behind. He quickly moved shoved his attacker against the wall. �Oh, my,� Tracy Quartermaine said smiling as she looked into the stunned face of Victor.

�What are you doing?� Victor asked letting Tracy go.

�I was trying to get your attention,� Tracy said as she seductively ran her hand up and down his chest.

It had been a long time since someone came on to him. He liked it but he knew his wife would hate it. �Tracy,� Victor said backing away from her. �Alex sees this and she is going to kill me.�

�What worried about your wife?� Tracy asked smiling at Victor.

�No. Yes,� Victor said in complete frustration. He was tempted to do what she was suggesting, very tempted. The trouble was he really loved Alex. So, Victor pulled himself away from Tracy and said, �I have to go.� And he quickly walked away!

Tracy stood there smiling. She didn�t care that Victor loved Alex. She didn�t care that he didn�t love her. Victor was rich and he could have a lot of power with the right woman at his side. She also knew that sooner or later her father was going to pick either her son or Max to run ELQ. She would be out and Tracy was never the type to sit and wait to get the boot. She was going to place herself with Victor. He just didn�t know it yet!

Lucky arrived home late with food he picked up from the near by Taco Bell. His mother still up and Lucky guessed she was waiting for him. �How was the party?� Laura asked as Lucky walked into the room.

�Oh, great. I met your ex-husband. He was a real ass,� Lucky said coldly as she sat down on the couch.

�Oh, no. You saw Scott!� Laura said looking to make sure the door of Luke�s room was closed. She didn�t need him to know that Scott was back. Luke was hard enough to live with. He would be impossible if he knew this bit of news.

�Yeah, he is our new DA. BJ told me he is out for blood of Grandfather and Uncle Victor. Mom, I know I he was an old friend of yours but what in hell see in the guy?� Lucky asked looking at frustration at his mother.

Laura smiled and said, �I was young.�

�Yeah,� Lucky said as he opened his bag of food and started to eat.

Laura smiled and asked, �Besides Scott. How did things go?�

�Ok. The press was a pain but I�m getting used to them. Oh, Gia and Nikolas want to come over Saturday. They are bringing Stefan and Bobbie. I think they want to talk wedding,� Lucky said smiling.

�About time,� Laura said smiling. She needed a wedding. It would help her keep from killing her husband.

�I think so as well,� Lucky said between tacos. �How is pop?�

�Let�s just say I would love to pop him,� Laura snapped.

�Oh, no. What did he do?� Lucky asked.

�I decided to give him a bath. Which I am not doing it again,� Laura snapped just thinking about it.

�Mom, I hate to say this but I�m starting to think we are going to need help with dad. He keeps on fighting us with everything we do for him. It is like he doesn�t want to get better,� Lucky said sadly.

�Yeah, I�m going to give him a bit more time and if that doesn�t work. I�ll have to think about something else,� Laura said hating to think about it but she knew Lucky was right. If Luke didn�t start working with them maybe someone else could get him to do it.

�Well, I�m with you with ever you decided,� Lucky, said getting up and giving his mother a hug. Laura nodded and then stood up and headed upstairs giving Lucky time to finish eating before he went to bed.
