| Chapter 10 Two mouths later Lucky and Zander sat up front in the cockpit flying over the Atlantic Ocean on their way home to Port Charles. �Do you think he will be ok?� Lucky asked Zander glancing back toward the back of the plane. �Sure, man. Your father is a fighter. He is just a little down right now,� Zander said smiling at Lucky. �I hope so. He doesn�t even try to work with Alex,� Lucky said sadly. Luke�s seizures have stopped thanks to the medication Alex was giving him. The trouble was Luke wasn�t doing anything to get better. He just lies there. �Come on, Lucky. It will be ok,� Zander said patting his friend on the back. Lucky nodded and the worked the controls changing the plane�s direction towards New York. �So, how is Emily?� �Ok, I guess. We talk about school and work but she refuses to talk about AJ,� Lucky said his voice laced with rage. He didn�t like AJ to Lucky AJ was scum for what he did to his sister. �I really don�t blame her,� Zander said. �Yeah, I know. She said that Monica and Alan are leaving it up to her if she wanted to see him. They want to have a family dinner for Thanksgiving. She might be having Thanksgiving with us,� Lucky said. �That would good for you?� Zander said grinning. �Yeah, I miss her. I miss all of them. I�m ready to go home and get my life going again,� Lucky said. �Do that. I know you love your father but Lucky he has to do this on his own. You can�t do it for him,� Zander said to Lucky. �I know. I have been there. Remember! I know how he feels. I also know dad has to do this all by himself!� Lucky said. ***************************** Luke was asleep. Laura was sitting beside him watching him. Lu was reading a book, Ruby was resting as well and Alex was watching Laura. �You do need to rest,� Alex told her. �I�ll rest when I get home,� Laura said. �Yes, after you get Lucky and Lu settled and put Luke to bed. Laura you can�t take care of him alone,� Alex said. She wanted Laura to either hire a nurse or put Luke into the hospital. She didn�t think Laura could do this by herself. �I married Luke for better or worse. I will not turn him over to someone else like I did my son,� Laura said firmly. �Not all nurses are like Alice,� Alex reminded Laura. �I know that is why Amy will come and relieve me on her days off,� Laura said. �Oh, great. Doesn�t Luke hate Amy?� Alex asked. �He doesn�t hate her. He just doesn�t like her,� Laura said smiling a bit. ********************************** Mikkos was waiting for this Kristina. She had saved his office to last to decorate. Mikkos didn�t mind this. He had other things to deal with and finding a place Ruby had been one of them. He had several in mind and he hoped when she landed that she would like one of them. There was a knock on his door. �Enter,� Mikkos called out as Kristina opened the door and walked on inside. �Ready?� she said with smile on her face. At first Mikkos thought that he was seeing a ghost. He had to be because the woman before him was dead. Helena had killed her a long time go. Mikkos remembered Crystal�s funeral. He remembered the look on her father�s face blaming him for his daughter�s death. It was his fault. He knew what Helena was like but couldn�t help but falling far that lovely face. Kristina stood there looking at Mikkos while he looked at her. �Ah, Mr. Cassadine?� she said finally. �You ok?� �What?� Mikkos said suddenly brought back to reality. �Sorry, you remind me of someone.� �It is ok. I believe everyone has a twin in the world,� Kristina said and she put down the samples she was holding on a make shift table. �I looked at your office on the island. It gave me some idea of your taste but I do have some questions.� �Ask away,� Mikkos said smiling still thinking of Crystal. He didn�t know if everyone had a twin but he did know that this girl was a lot like his old lover. She even talked like her. �Well for one do you like that desk?� Kristina asked. Mikkos smiled and said, �Young lady that desk has been in my family for centuries. So, yes the desk moves with me.� �Ok, ah can we at least get you a new chair?� Kristina asked. �Don�t like my chair?� Mikkos asked. �It is a bit worn,� Kristina said smiling. �What do you suggest?� Mikkos asked smiling at the young woman. Kristina smiled back and she gave Mikkos the run down on what she thought his office should look like. ******************************* �I�ll finish here. You go help get your dad ready to move,� Zander said to Lucky. They just landed the jet at the Cassadine private airport. Lucky got up and went towards the back of the plane where Laura was fighting to strap his father down to move him. �Hey, pop.� Lucky said walking up to Luke and placing a hand on Luke�s right arm. �I know you hate this but it will be just for a moment. You don�t want to fall out do you?� Luke glared at Lucky as Lucky strapped him down. Laura stood there smiling. Lucky was the only one that Luke didn�t fight. He just either did have the heart to do it or refused to. Laura didn�t know which one it was but she really didn�t care. She was just glad that Luke responded to someone. �Be careful with him,� Lucky ordered the guards moments later as they eased Luke through the doorway of the plane and down the stairs. �Yes sir,� the guards replied as they moved Luke down the stairs. Waiting for them below was a van specially made to transport Luke or it was made for Lucky when he was unable to walk. Mikkos just had taken it out of storage. The guards placed Luke inside the van and make sure that the transport was locked down. �I get the front,� Lu said jumping happily into the passenger seat. Laura let her and she climbed into the back with Luke. One of the guards walked up to Zander who was unloading the plane. �I have orders to tell you to report at Victor�s office at the new offices.� The guard said to Zander. �Ok, you going to make sure things make it where they belong?� Zander asked the guard. �Yes, sir,� the guard said taking over the unloading of the jet. Zander smiled and started to walk away. �That means you have the jet stored in its hanger.� �I will sir,� the guard said not bothering to stop his work. Lucky was in the drive seat of the van when Zander popped his head in through the window. �I have to go. Victor is calling. I�ll catch up with you later.� �Got it,� Lucky said smiling. �Bye mom,� Zander said smiling at his mother. �Tell Victor I�ll catch up with him later. I just want to make sure Luke gets settled in,� Alex said. �You got it,� Zander said and he walked to his car that was waiting for him near by. ********************************* It took awhile but Luke was finally settled into bed. Laura turned to her son and said, �Go find your friends.� �You sure?� Lucky asked. �I�m sure. I can deal with your father,� Laura said smiling. �Ok,� Lucky said smiling. �Can I go down and see Tammy?� Lu asked. �Go head but be back by supper,� Laura told her daughter. �Ok,� Lu said and she was off like a flash. Lucky was right behind her leaving Laura, Ruby and Alex alone together. Ruby sighed heavily as she dropped back into one of the chairs. �I�ll make some tea.� Mrs. Carlson said heading towards the kitchen. Laura sat in the other chair and Alex sat on the couch. �What a day,� Laura sighed. �Yes, and it will get worse,� Ruby said sadly. �He�ll come around,� Laura said. �I hope so. The longer he refuses to work the harder it will be for him to get better,� Alex told Laura. �I know,� Laura said sadly and she got up to stand in the doorway watch Luke sleep. Ruby and Alex looked at each other wondering what to do. Neither one believed Laura was ready for the fight that was ahead of her. Also neither thought Luke was willing to fight any more.
