Chapter One  Meeting the Devil

Lucky Spencer walked to the end of the dock. He could not believe how messed up things were. At least they could not get worse, he said to himself. (Dont count on it.)

Got the money? boomed a voice from behind.

Only half. I get the rest tomorrow. I promise. Lucky said handing over a roll of bills. Looking apprehensively at the two large goons.

Not good enough, kid. Now you owe me $1200 and I want it tomorrow. Im going to leave you with a little reminder. the hood snarled.

Lucky was grabbed by the arms. The two goons held him in place while the loan shark slammed a fist into his midsection. They were about to break his fingers when a voice yelled out.

I wouldnt do that if I were you? said Damion strolling out from the shadows.

Stay out of this? This is none of your concern. growled the loan shark.

Ignoring the remark. Damion asked, How much dose the kid owe?

$1200 came the reply.

Here. Damion said throwing the money at the men, Now get out of here.

Lucky was leaning over holding his stomach. Tries getting the words I dont need you out but he was having trouble getting his breath. Damion strolled over (I should say slithered) and helped him to straighten up.

I didnt need your help? Lucky said trying to walk away.

Damion grabbed him by the arm pulled him into the nearest alley. Youre not going anywhere? he said.
