Chapter Eight - I hate that man

Luke awoke with a horn blasting in his ear. His body still felt like, he had
taken a few rounds with a prizefighter. Sitting up, Luke found Lucky lying right
beside him. Looking at the clock beside the bed the time read 5:00 a.m. Hes
crazy. No one gets up at this ungodly hour. Luke said laying back down.

Suddenly Lord Death picture came over the TV. All right you two get up. We have
a long day ahead. with that both of their wristbands activated.

All right cut the crap. Were up! yelled Luke.

Dad. I thought I would never say this, but I mess Stavros. He at least let me
sleep. said Lucky sitting back down on the bed.

Cowboy. Im going to kill that Cassadine. Somehow, I will shove that control
box down his throat. Luke said going to the closet.

They headed into the dinning hall for breakfast. Michael was all ready eating.
Youre late. Ill forgive you this time, but from now on you will be on time.
Eat! After breakfast, Ill show you around are little facility. He said.

After two hours of walking, Luke was totally lost. This place is like amaze,
he thought. They could serve for years down here without coming up for air.
Michaels operation was so vast that it went seven stories below ground. He
could grow and make just about any food that was need to survive. His smuggling
operation was vast. It consisted of just about everything you could think of.

Where is your human cargo? Luke asked not really wanting the answer.

Not here in this facility, but I have five just like this one. Nothing but! he
said.

Lucky and Luke just looked at each other. This man was proud of it. Luke decided
at that point Michael was going down. Even if it meant ending his own life, but
his first problem was to get Lucky out of the line of fire.

Lucky, Why dont you go into the library. While me and your father talk.
Michael said opening the door.

Luke really didnt want to be separated but at this moment he really didnt have
a chose. So, Lucky entered the library and the second the door was closed. He
came face to face with his past. Covering the library walls were paintings from
the Cassadine Island. He slowly walked around the room until he stopped in front
of a painting with Helena and Michael in it. At first he didnt remember doing
it but slowly the memory came back.

Lucas. came Helenas voice. This is Michael. He is a dear friend of the
family. Lucas is staying with us until his parents get back on their feet. They
are old and dear friends of mine, she said.

Nice to meet you Lucas. I have seen some of your work. You are very talented.
How about painting a picture of Helena and I? You can do the main sketch while
we talk, said Michael.

Lucky smiled and walked over to his chair and started drawing. Something about
that man wasnt right. His words were kind but his face was as cold as ice.

Lucky didnt realize that an hour had past. He had starred at the painting all
that time remembering pits and pieces of the past. I didnt know you met him.
Luke asked bring his son back to the present.

I didnt either until now. He used to come and talk with Helena when everyone
was gone. Lucky said turning toward his father. Dad, I dont think Helena
liked him.

Why do you say that? Luke asked.

She acted different when he was around. I think she was really scared of him.
Lucky said.

So, the old witch was afraid of something. I wonder if there is more of the
story between the Cassadine brothers then Stefan knew about. Luke thought out
loud.

I think there was, but what I dont remember. Helena told me something about
him. I was trying to remember when you came in. Lucky said.

Cowboy, listen to me. If you remember anything tell me right away. Something
about this hole mess isnt right. Helena had some kind of grand plan for you. I
beginning to wander if Michael wasnt involved some how, Luke said as him and
Lucky walked out of the room.

Weeks have gone by and it was like Luke and his son fell off the face of the
planet. No one had seen or heard from them since the night of the attack. Laura
had moved, her and Lu, into the Scorpio just in case they were next. Robert
wasnt going to take any chances with their lives.

Luke was too worried about Lucky to think of his wife. Ever since that tour of
the compound. Lucky was having extremely bad nightmares. He would awaken in a
cold sweat. Screaming at the top of his lungs. Lucky never remembered what they
were about, but he didnt go back to sleep after that either. So, both father
and son were exhausted when the entered there rooms.

Whats this? Luke asked picking up a note from the dresser. Here is something
to help Lucky sleep. This isnt a request. the note read. Luke wasnt about to
comply. He was about to flush the pills. When the pain came back at him in a
rush. Michaels voice come over the speakers. Lucky take them or your fathers
pain is going to get worse.

Luke wasnt about to give in that easy. He gripped the bottle but as the pain
increased. The harder it was for him to keep the bottle from Lucky. Lucky
finally got the bottle from his father and swallowed two of the pills. There
he screamed. Are you happy?

Without a word the pain stopped and Lucky help Luke to his feet. Dad are you
all right? he asked.

Yes, but you didnt have to take those things. You dont even know what they
were. Luke said breathing hard. He was trying to get to his feet.

It doesn't matter. I have a feeling Michael wouldnt give me something to hurt
me. He needs me to much. Lucky said laying his father on his bed.

How do you know? Luke asked.

He needs me to keep you in line. He realized that without me, you dont give a
dam about anything. Lucky said pulling the covers up. Go to sleep. Ill be
here tomorrow. Lucky promised his father.

The next day Lucky realized he slept the whole night threw without one single
dream. He got up early dressed and when to check up on his father. Luke was
still a sleep. It took Lucky a while to wake him. I hate that man. Luke said
trying to sit up.

How do you feel? he asked a little worried.

Fine. I didnt dream at all. Lucky said. How do you feel?

The same after his shock treatment. Luke said. Last night you said he
wouldnt do anything to hurt you because he needs me. I think your right but
dont count on that fact too much. He might realize he doesn't need either of us
and then we both have had it. Luke said getting dressed.
