Chapter 11:

Lucky's grip on the flowers was tight and he almost broke the stems in half. He was walking around the markers to the one with his mother and sister's name on it. Lucky slowly lowered himself to the ground. All ready, his blue eyes were filling with tears and it felt like his heart was being ripped out of his chest.

Hi, Lucky said in a horse voice as he placed the flowers on the ground before their name. Kevin told me that talking to you would help. I dont buy it but I have to try something. You know, I miss you and want you with me everyday since you've been gone. As Lucky talked, the tears he was fighting back were slowly falling down his cheeks. I guess, you know what happened between me and dad. You might be the only one that understands both sides. I wish I did, but Ill get my answers. It will take time, but Ill getem. Lucky wiped his eyes and started to pick the weeds that were starting to grow around the marker. Everyone wants me to hate him. I cant. We are it. I never once thought about you dying. Not even when Frank was trying to kill us. I guess kids dont think of those things. I always thought I had time to tell you all that I wanted to. Now, it is too late and all because of Cassadine. He was the one that forced you on that plane that took your life. Ill hate him for as long as I live. Now, I know the hatred dad felt towards them because I feel it, too. I know you wanted me and Nikolas to be friends but it isnt going to happen. Not now and not ever. Lucky bowed his head and let everything out. He cried for over an hour and when he was done, he was left feeling empty and cold.

Lucky finally pulled himself up off the ground and headed out of the graveyard. He was near the front gate when he spotted Stefan standing by his car. Lucky couldnt help but go over and confront him.

What are you doing here? Lucky demanded as he stalked over to Stefan.

I have come to pay my respects. I was letting you finish before I went over, Stefan said trying to be nice to Lucky. He was no longer worried about Lucky and Luke. He had his mother to deal with and she was his main concern.

Go away. You did enough, Lucky said the anger he felt for Stefan was starting to boil over.

I have the right... Stefan said but Luck cut him off.

You have no rights. Lucky said his voice laced with venom. She was nothing to you but a tool to get back at my father. Like the rest of us are. We arent people and you could care less who gets hurt.

You are wrong Lucky. I loved your mother more then you will ever know. Stefan said trying to explain his feelings to Lucky but at the moment Lucky wasnt listening.

You loved her. Lucky mocked sarcastically. You cant love anyone. No Cassadine can. All any of you think about is what you want or what you can get. Well you cant have her now. You sent her way because she wanted my father and you couldnt face it. Now she is dead with my little sister and grandmother. You keep telling yourself that you loved her. If that helps you sleep at night, but it will not change anything. She is still dead and you still put her there. Lucky said getting right into Stefans face.

All Stefan did was stand there and wait for Luckys next move. Lucky slowly started walking away because he couldnt look at Stefan any longer. Just before he got out of earshot, Lucky stopped and turned around. Cassadine, I hope you enjoy your life because hell is coming and Im bringing it. Lucky picked up a rock and threw it right at Stefan. It hit him on the shoulder but Stefan didnt move. He just watched as Lucky stormed off.

Im all ready in hell, Stefan muttered and then headed to Lauras grave.

Lucky left the graveyard and walked for hours around town. His mind was racing but he still didnt have the right answers. Lucky found himself at the Spencer house standing on the front pouch. He stood frozen for a long time but then slowly reached out and opened the door. The place was exactly the way Bobbie had found it that night. You could even still see the dried blood on the floor of the steps were Lucky had fallen that day. He bent down and ran his hand over the spot and screamed. He kept screaming until Kevin walked in and wrapped his arms around him.

Its, okay, Dr. Collins said trying to calm Lucky down.

It isnt ok, Lucky said, the hate very evident in his voice. It will never be ok. Lucky pulled free and started to pace the room. His hands waving widely. Look at this place. You know why he did it. He was hurting. I know because I hurt just as much as he did. I finally understand his reasons for all of it. He was right, but she wouldnt listen. She said Stefan was different. He isnt. He is just like the others. He didnt get what he wanted so he destroyed her. Luckys eyes were burning with fire and the hate was clear on his face.

Lucky, Kevin said walking toward him with an out stretched hand, but Lucky pulled back. Kevin put his arm down but still kept on walking while talking softly.

What Luke did here had nothing to do with your mother or Stefan.

Yes it did. It had everything to do with it. He got drunk because he couldnt face life without her. He wrecked the house because she loved this house. He hit me because Im her son. Dont you see? If it wasnt for Stefan, she would alive and I would have my life back. Lucky said dropping into the only chair that was in the room.

Stefan didnt kill your mother. The plane crashed because of bad wiring, Kevin said turning one of the kitchen chairs up right and sitting down beside Lucky.

She left because of him. She wouldnt have if he had not forced her, Lucky said starting to get up. Kevin put a restraining hand on him and he sat back down.

Lucky, look at me, Kevin demanded. Stefan didnt set out to kill her. His actions my have taken her life, but how your father dealt with it was his fault. Stefan didnt put that bottle in his hands. He didnt force him to trash the house and he didnt force him to hit you. Luke did it all by himself. You can hate your fathers actions and still love him. Kevin watched for Luckys reactions but didnt get what he wanted.

You are missing the point. Stefan caused it all because he would not leave us alone and no one is going to convince me otherwise. Lucky said and stormed out of the house.

Kevin watched him go and cursed himself. The only wall Lucky had now was that he refused to believe that Luke was to blame for any of this. The anger he should feel toward his father was turned toward Stefan. Ever since Lucky read his mothers words, Lucky had found an outlet for his anger and nothing Kevin did changed his mind. The problem was now that the grief was gone; all Lucky had was anger. Kevin was worried that Lucky could either hurt himself or someone else before things got better.

Bobbie and Jake were up talking about the up and coming case when Lucky
walked into the house. He was almost to his room when Bobbie spotted him, threw open the kitchen door and called him to her. Lucky looked up at the sky and prayed that she wasnt going to get on his case for being late. He knew he was late but right now he didnt care to listen to any of it.

Lucky, Bobbie began seeing his face and knew something was bothering him. So, she decided not to bring up the fact that he was an hour later coming home then he had agreed. Jake needs to talk to you about a few things for when we go to court next week. He is thinking about putting you on the stand.

Me? Lucky said shocked and amazed that she would even allow it. He was getting so used to people treating him like he could break that this idea shocked him.

Unless, you dont want to take the stand, Bobbie said reading his reactions wrong.

No, I want to help, Lucky said quickly taking a seat and joining the group.

Good, Bobbie said with a wide smile on her face because for the first time, Lucky was almost like his old self again.

First, tell me about your little game with Stefan. Jake asked and he took out a note pad and started to write. Lucky told him everything about Tumoria and about the events that led up to his mothers death. He even filled in Jake about the entire Cassadine/Spencer war.

You're used to all of this? Jake asked, amazed how relaxed Lucky had been when he had told him the story.

Yeah, you should have been around when Frank and Damian were after us, Lucky said with a smile on his face.

I bet it was fun, Jake said looking over his notes for a few moments. So, Stefan was Unlucky and you almost got killed because of it?

Yes, he even admitted it. He said he didnt think I would go looking at these places. He was doing it to lead me to my grandmother. Lucky told Jake.

Why didnt he just tell you? Jake asked.

Because he wanted me dead. He only said he never wanted me hurt because mom was right in his face. He knew what he was doing and if it weren't for dad and Foster, I would have been dead, Lucky said coldly.

I didnt buy it then but I do now. Im sorry Lucky, Bobbie broke in grabbing her nephew's hand.

Its ok. You were under his spell just as much as my mother. She believed him too. She said that dads hate for Cassadines was clouding his thinking and it got her killed, Lucky said.

Well, Im wake and Im not going to die. I will be with you for a long time to come. Bobbie said. The three of them talked late into the night but finally exhaustion started to sink in and the group went to bed. Jake head back to Kellys and Lucky and Bobbie headed to bed.

The next day, Bobbie was going home from working the late shift and Stefan stopped her. Barbara? Stefan called out as he rushed toward her.

Bobbie stopped but she didnt look too happy to see him. What? she snapped.

I want to talk to you. Maybe we could get things settled before this gets to far, Stefan said and he slowly guided her to his car. He had taken the sedan that day. Helena had gotten rid of his driver and almost all the help that was loyal to him. He was now the stranger in his own home and he was starting to get used to it.

I dont want to talk. Not to you, Bobbie snapped trying to pull free.

Please," Stefan begged. "I am trying to meet you half way. Cant you do the same for me? Stefan asked.

Is this a trick? Bobbie asked him.

No, it isnt trick. I want to stop this before it goes too far, Stefan said sadly.
Bobbie looked at him and something told her that he was sincere. She decided that it wouldnt hurt to hear him out. At least she would have an idea of how far he was willing to go to end all of this.

Stefan smiled a half smile at her and slowly guided her to the car. The pair drove out of the parking garage and headed down the street. Stefan drove and talked at the same time. He was willing to offer her 1/4 of what Bobbie was asking and a divorce without any strings attached. Bobbie listened but didnt like any of it. She told him that she was willing to take half but that was it. Stefan couldnt do that because the money he was going to give her was coming from his private funds. The other amount would have to come from the family and he no longer controlled it. Stefan tried several times to get her to listen but she wouldnt budge. Stefan finally gave up and steered the car toward the docks. As he neared the docks, Stefan tried to slow down but as soon as he hit the break, the car just went faster. He looked at the floorboard and knew right away that his mother had done something to the car.

Stefan, slow down! Bobbie yelled as she noticed that they were speeding up.

I cant, Stefan said his voice full of panic. I cant even turn the wheel, he told her and they watched helplessly as the car went racing toward the edge of the docks.

Bobbie and Stefan tried to get the doors to open but it was useless. The car went crashing over the edge of the docks and hit the water hard. People who saw it go over stood and watched it vanish with both of its occupants trapped inside.
