| Chapter 3 The next morning Laura was in the kitchen when Lucky came down for breakfast. It was Saturday and he was the last one up. Luke had gone out to get some supplies to fix the house. He had been putting off some odd jobs and with Laura home. She managed to get him motivated to finally work on them. "Good morning, sleepy head," Laura said as she placed his breakfast in front of him. "Boy, I missed you," Lucky said with a smile at the hot breakfast that was in front of him. "Well, I missed you, too," Laura said kissing him on the head and went to finish cleaning things up. She had waited until he was almost done with the plate before bring up what was on her mind. "So, how did you like working for Helena?" Laura heard a load clank as his fork hit his plate. She turned around and saw a very stunned Lucky looking back at her. "Yes, your father told me everything last night and I am wondering what you were thinking?" "I wasn't," Lucky said sadly. He was having trouble looking his mother in the eye and Laura walked over and pulled his head up to hers. "Lucky, I love you but if you ever do something like that again. I am going to wring your neck," Laura told him. "I won't," Lucky said trying not to laugh at her last part of her sentence. "Baby, why didn't you come to me. We could have talked about everything and worked it out as a family. Going to the streets and working for Helena just made matters worse," Laura said as she sat down beside him. "I was mad at you. Dad. The world. All I knew was that you were raped by him and that made the rest a lie," Lucky said. "No, it didn't make us a lie. Right, Luke raped me and it took us a long time to get over that event. It had something to do with us, not you. By the time you were born, I never once thought about that night. So, you had no right being mad about it because it didn't happen to you," Laura told him. "I know it didn't but I couldn't understand how you could have married the man that hurt you," Lucky told her. "I can't tell you why I feel in love with Luke. Love is unpredictable and it hits you out of no where. All I know is that the love healed the pain. Luke stood by me and helped me in now way any one else could because he knew what I went through. So, loving him became easy," Laura told him. "I got it. Now! I was just so upset that I couldn't listen to anyone. You see, I have friend that was raped and I still want her rapist to be caught. I should have been with her but I wasn't. She got hurt because of it," Lucky told her. "Liz, right?" Laura asked. "Yeah. Who told you?" Lucky asked her. "Your father. He has been getting me caught up with my son's lives. I want to meet your friend and maybe I can help her. What happened to me wasn't anything like what happened to her. You do understand that don't you?" Laura asked him. "Yes," Lucky said and he gave his mother a hug. He was glad that she was home and now that she was home. He felt everything was going to be all right. The two of them sat and talked more about the thinks she missed and Lucky told her everything about Liz. Laura could tell that he was in love with this young girl and the protective mother in her wondered if this girl was good enough for her son. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke stopped by the hospital before going home to work on the house. He knew he was putting things off again but he also needed to talk to Bobbie. He was hoping that she could clear a few things up and one of them was why Laura didn't shot him last night. He was grateful that she didn't that didn't make him feel any better about things. The elevator door opened and he wasn't to surprise to find Stefan standing by the desk bugging Bobbie. She has told him many ways that she didn't like him but Stefan just couldn't take no for an answer. "Barbara, what did I do to you?" Luke heard Stefan ask Bobbie. "You were born," Luke said as he joined the couple. Bobbie smiled at Luke's remark. "Very witty Spencer. I was talking to your sister. Not you," Stefan said coldly. "Sorry, I just couldn't help but add lib. Oh, by the way. Laura is home and for good this time," Luke said with a smug smile on his face. Stefan tried to hide that fact that this news upset him but Luke knew it got to him. "I will inform Nikolas that his mother is home," Stefan said. "When she get back?" Bobbie asked trying to ignore Stefan. "Last night," Luke said and she could tell there was more but he wasn't going to tell her in front of Stefan. "Mr. Cassadine, could you please excuse me. I am going to talk to my brother alone," Bobbie said and her and Luke walked down the hall out of earshot of the man. "What's wrong?" Bobbie asked Luke. "I had to tell Laura about me and Helena. The old bat sent her pictures of us in bed," Luke whispered. "Oh, no. How did Laura take it?" Bobbie asked. "Better the I thought she would. We even slept together last night and that is the problem. Why didn't she shot me?" Luke asked. "Luke," Bobbie said shocked at his tone of voice. "You forgave Laura for not only sleeping with Stavors but his brother. I think she could at least understand what you did with the old witch." "That is what she told me. I guess I just needed someone else to say it. What did he want anyway?" Luke asked her pointing down the hall at Stefan. "He wants me join him for dinner. I told him to get lost. I wish that man would take a hint. How could I even think about going out with the son of the man that hurt my big brother so badly," Bobbie said and she gave Luke a kiss on the check. "You almost added your nephew to that list," Luke said. "What? Lucky? What did the witch do to him?" Bobbie snapped her voice getting a little to loud. "Easy," Luke said as he looked around at the people looking at them and pulled her deeper down the hall before telling her about the events on the yacht. "If I were you, I would get a good check up," Bobbie said without a hint of humor in her voice. "Don't worry about me and Lucky is ok. He a little shaken up but he getting over it," Luke said. "I would love to punch that woman right in the mouth. She should be arrested for child molestation. Lucky is only fifteen years old," Bobbie said. "I was only a year older then he is now," Luke remaindered her. "I know that and she should be arrest for that as well," Bobbie snapped. "Bobbie," Luke warned her. "Let me deal with Helena. I didn't tell you to get you all upset. I just needed someone to talk to about things." "I will be good but you watch your back. I don't trust that woman," Bobbie said and she looked at her watch. "I have to go. You tell Laura that I will stop by later," and with that Bobbie was off and running. Luke had left the hospital right then and headed home. He needed to get to work on fixing the house up for Laura or she was never going to let him rest until he was done with it. Stefan watched him leave then headed to his office. He didn't hear what Bobbie and Luke talked about but he didn't think it mattered. All that mattered was that Laura was back after he told her exactly what would have happened if she ever returned. He was now going to go over to see her some time and reminder of this. He wasn't going to let Luke and Laura is together. If he couldn't have her then no one was going to have her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke was fixing the light switch later that day when Laura came down stairs with her coat on. "Luke, I'm going to go see Nikolas. I have a few things to talk to him about," Laura said as she stopped down at the bottom of the stairs. "Watch yourself around the Count. He didn't look to happy when I told him that you were home," Luke said. "I will and I have been meaning to thank you for not shoot him. You could have after I told you about us," Laura said giving him a kiss. "I thought about it," Luke said as he put down the screwdriver. "What stopped you?" Laura asked shocked to here about this. "It has to do with the last time I saw Helena. She was acted strange and I followed her to find out what she was up too. I saw her and Victor kill a woman. The reason was because she gave birth to Mikkos daughter. As I stood in the shadows with the gun pointing at Stefan that night came back to me. I left Helena right then and there because of that event. I just couldn't turn around and do the same thing," Luke admitted. "What a sick family," Laura said as she pulled Luke to her. "I am glad that you didn't kill him. Stefan means nothing to me any more and he can't break us up because I will not let him." "I know that and if you can live with my past with Helena. I can live with your past with Stavors and Stefan," Luke told her. "By the way, do you know what happened to the child?" Laura asked not expecting he knew the answer. "Natasha?" Luke said with an evil smile. "You know her as Alexis Davis." "What?" Laura said in shock. "You got it. Stefan half sister is his cousin," Luke said. "Oh, my. I wonder if he knows this?" Laura said with the same evil smile. "We might tell him later but not yet. This truth needs a good time and place," Luke told her. "I'll be good but I want to see his face. This would really throw a curve in his great plan for his family," Laura said and she left then to go see her son. Chapter 4 Back to Luke's Secret Past |
