| Chapter Eleven Luke and Lauras wedding anniversary Lucky walked into the dark penthouse and almost thought it was empty. He was about to turn on the light but a voice for the dark startled him. Dont turn on the light. Luke said in a drunken voice. Lucky realized what day it was and wasnt to surprised to find Luke drunk. He found his father sitting on the couch looking at his mothers wedding ring. Dad are you all right? Lucky asked. Sure, my wife is dead and so is my daughter but Im find. Luke said sarcastically. Lucky almost thought about leaving but saw a gun lying down beside Luke and changed his mind. Lucky moved slowly and sat down in a chair. Dad, What are you doing with the gun? Lucky asked in a low voice. I was going to end it but I changed my mind. I couldnt leave you like that and not on this day. Lucky, I will always miss her but I have to put her away or loose myself completely. Luke said. Lucky noticed the other ring beside Lauras and realized what he meant. Lucky let out the breath he was holding. Luke wasnt as gone as he looked. I know and I have been waiting for you to do it. Lucky said and joined him on the couch. He placed the gun a few feet away. I think it is time we let go. Mom and Lu are gone and they arent coming back. Good bye Angel. Luke said and placed the rings in a box and closed the lid. He locked the rings up in the safe and turned to Lucky. You hungry. Sure, how about going out? Lucky said. Why not. Luke said and grabbed his coat. Father and son headed to the door. Luke and Lucky were going to be all right. They would always miss Laura and Lu but things do move on. Luke and Lucky sat in the restaurant and in the background played a soft song. The tune reminded them of Laura but for the first time in a long while the pain was gone and the good memories were allowed to come out.
