Chapter Twenty Seven

Helena gave Mrs. Landsbury the week off to see her son, Andrew. Margaret
Landsbury went on the trip with the journal she kept over the years and pent up
anger at her son and Michael Cassadine.

Andrew met his mother at the airport and was glad to see her. She'd changed
greatly and they talked about everything but the bomb she had planned. Margaret
walked into her room and found Michael sitting in one of chairs. "Aggie. I'm
glad to see you," he said with all his charm.

"You snake. How dare you show your face to me?" Margaret snapped at him.

"Aggie. What's wrong? Michael asked.

"Don't Aggie me. You and this thing over here is what is wrong," she said
pointing to her son. They didn't move or speak. They let her vent her anger. "I
thought you both knew better than to leave any child with the Cassadines. You
should have taken all of those kids with you, but now your grandson is paying
for it."

"Nikolas? What did they do to him?" Michael demanded.

"Not Nikolas. He is hurting but not as bad as Lucas. He is destroyed and you let
it happen," she said walking up to Michael's face.

"Lucas?" Michael said with a questioning voice.

Margaret opened her small bag and placed photos, newspaper cut outs, and the
journal on the table. "Here is what I'm talking about. This is your grandson,
Lucas and this is your son, Luke," she said holding up the picture of Lucky and
the newspaper cut out of Luke.

Michael slowly went through all the information that she dumped on him and went
cold. He got up when he was done reading picked up a lamp and threw it across
the room. "How dare they treat my blood that way? I'm going to rip them apart,"
Michael said with cold blue eyes.

"Andrew, get Steven here now. I want all the information you can get on Luke
Spencer and I want it today," Michael ordered.

"Aggie. I promise you before this month is up Lucky, is going to get his wish,"
Michael said without a sign of compassion his voice.

Michael was sitting in his room going over papers that Andrew gave him. Alena,
Steven, and Andrew took Margaret to dinner. Michael was waiting for someone. The
door opened and Michael said, "Sit down, Helena."

"How did you know it was me?" she said sitting in the chair in front of him.

"I know you better than you know yourself. So, tell me everything?" Michael
ordered.

"Luke killed your family and now he is paying for it," she said coldly.

"They deserved to die and you don't have the passion of caring this out alone. I
was lied to when they said Methos was dead, wasn't I?" Michael demanded leaning
forward a little.

"Yes," Helena said softly.

"You bitch. I'm not going to kill you, sweetheart. I'm going to keep you alive
and make your life a living hell. You are going to pay for everything that
little bastard of yours did to my grandsons," Michael said getting up from his
chair and walked to her.

Michael grabbed her by the neck and gently squeezed. "Helena, I'm going to say
this once and I want the truth or I will find a nice buyer for you," Michael
said. "What are they up to?"

Helena looked into his eyes and knew he meant every word he said. She tried to
take a deep breath but it was hard with Michael's hand on her throat. "Methos is
brainwashing Lucas to kill you, but there is problem Stavros went too far and
now Lucas shut down. They need Luke to get him back on track. I talked them into
using you. Luke wouldn't trust us after all these years. He would smell a trap.
After Lucas gets better, Methos is planning a big charade. He is going to kidnap
my sister and Andrew and make them switch places with Stavros and me. He would
use Steven but the boy is too dangerous. He is going to have him killed before
then. He knows you are sick and you don't have too much time left. Methos wants
your power," she told him.

Michael looked at her and then let go. "Get out of my sight and pray I don't
ever see you again. Helena you have one chance to redeem yourself. Protect that
boy until I figure this out," Michael said to her before she left. Helena ran
from the room and quickly left to go back to the island. She knew Michael could
have anyone working for him and could end her life any time he wanted.

Michael was waiting for the group to come back. "Aggie. You're not going back to
that place. I have a safe house waiting for you. Steven will take you there,"
Michael ordered.

Steven took his grandmother to the safe house and left the three friends to
talk. Michael told them what Helena said. "I don't believe they think you're the
one that's dying," Andrew said.

"I know. We are," Alena said flatly.

"I know that and I have a plan to save your son and my family at that the same
time. Andrew, I know about the death pact you made with Alena. I'm asking you to
break it at least part way. Let Methos take you and Alena. I want them to think
their plan is working. I will promise to protect your son with my life," Michael
told them.

"We agree. What are you up to, old friend?" Andrew said.

"I'm going to let them think I'm not up to strength and let them go on with
their game plan but I'm going to turn the tables on them," Michael said with an
evil smile.

They toasted to old times and the last big game. They knew this was the last
time any of them could say good bye. Michael was in pain about losing his
friends but at least they were going to die fighting and not by the cancer that
was killing them.
