| Chapter 16 The Next day. Port Charles Kennel?? (I don't know if PC has a pet shop... LOL) "You all right, Courtney?" Carly asked, concerned walking through the Kennel, Michael beside her. :"Fine." She answered plainly. "You know if you wanna talk about it...." "I don't." She sighed. "But you..." "I said I don't." She repeated. "Alrite," She said backing off, "but if you want to, you know you can talk to me." Courtney looked up at Carly and told her, sincerely. "Thanks." Lightening the mood she asked, "So which dog? They are all so cute." "I wish we could take them all home." Carly murmured. "Why can't we?" Michael asked his Momma. "Yeah why not?" Courtney chimed in, feeling a bit better. "Cuz I'm afraid if we bring 'em all home Sonny might c-" began, but stopped, covering Michael's ears. "Cook em." She whispered not wanting him to believe his Uncle Sonny would cook a dog...when in all honesty...Sonny might. Courtney laughed at the joke she was making, but Carly remained serious. "HE would actually do that?" She asked. "Probably." She answered. "Man..." She trailed off. "Oh, mommy! I want this one!" Michael exclaimed running towards a cage. Inside a puppy, who had to be about 2 months top, peered out at them. It was peculiar looking dog, but an extremely adorable one at that. Its stomach was a coat of white, the back of the small dog looked a light tan, with hints of a chocolate brown. The tip of its ear to about the middle was dipped in jet black, with dark, dark brown, almost black but not quite, paws. It didn't weigh more than 5 pounds, and was about 8 or so inches at the shoulder. When it wagged its tale in happiness at Michael, Carly knew that this puppy would be "it". She read the tag out loud, "Sex-Female. Breed-Mixed half Pomeranian Half Shitzu. Age-about 2 or so months. It's a cute little thing, ain't it Co?" "That it is. But don't you think we should wait for Michael to help pick out the dog...?" "No." She said casually. "He said ok. Plus wouldn't it be funny to surprise Uncle Sonny, Michael?" "Yeah!" "Ok then! We have ourselves a puppy!" She smiled enthusiastically. The Penthouse. He haggardly walked, half dragged himself through the doors. He wanted to just curl up into bed, with his gorgeous wife, that was in no doubt waiting for him. To tired to even turn on lights, he decided to just sit on the couch for a moment so he could make the trip up the long stairs. He was midway sitting down when it spoke, noticing it's presence. "Yelp! Yelp!" What was that? He wondered. He went to move to the light switched, but tripped over something and fell flat on the ground, while the noise got louder. "YELP YELP! YELP!" "What the hell is that?!" He said now, out loud. The lights began to turn on upstairs, as Carly and Courtney came down. "What in God's name is going....Sonny? What the heck are you doing on the floor?" Carly asked. "YELP YELP!" She heard the noise of the little puppy and quickly ran over to it, soothing her. "Aww, did that mean ol' man hurt you?" "No, Carly I'm fine. Please make no motion to help." He sarcastically said, while standing up. "What did you do to the puppy?" "Puppy? What Puppy? "The puppy we got today." "Yeah." Courtney chimed in. "You bought a puppy?" He asked, shocked, appalled. "No, we adopted it." "Same thing. And when were you going to mention this?" Sonny asked, peeved. How could they get a dog without his consent? "When you asked." Carly and Courtney stated, nonchalantly "Well, I don't want it. Get rid of it." "Sonny!" Carly yelled, upset. "She can hear you!" She talked soothingly to the dog, reassuring they wouldn't get rid of her. "Don't listen to him, if he keeps it up he'll be the one we get rid of it." "Hey!" Sonny exclaimed. "We're getting rid of it." He persisted. "No." "No." "No? Yes, we can't have a dog!" "Why not? You said we could!" Carly shot back at him. "What? When?" He actually remembered when they discuss this, and even though he didn't actually disagree or agree, he wasn't going down without a fight. He needed to keep *some* dignity. "Fine. We can get rid of the dog." Carly said. "What?" Sonny was puzzled. She wouldn't just give up like that. She was up to something. "Yeah, but you got to tell Michael." "Good one Carly!" Courtney encouraged. "What...I can't..." "You know, he really loved that puppy. He was so happy when he saw that puppy. His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. Right Courtney?" She elbowed the girl. "What? Oh yeah. You should have seen him. The smile on that boy..." She trailed off. "I mean even though we just got it today, they had grown so close. You should see them. Following each other around. Its the cutest thing I've ever seen. But if you really want to shatter Michael heart into a million pieces..." "Fine! Fine. We'll keep the damn mutt. But if it pees, chews, or scratches one piece of the furniture its out!" "Oh Sonny we knew you would see it our way!" The two girls hugged him while the puppy licked his face. Mid Morning. He buried his head under the pillow as the constant noise continued. There was only one thing that could cause such a horrible noise...the mutt. He gently poked Carly on the side, waking her up. "Carly....Carly." He whispered. "What?" She mumbled into the pillow. "The dog, its barking." "So? Take it for a walk." "Why don't you? I took it out before we all went to bed." She looked up from the pillow with puppy dogs eyes. "Please?" She whimpered. "I'm so tired. And plus you didn't take it out, Johnny did." "Carly......" "Could you please?" She asked as the noise increased. "Fine, fine." He groaned, rolling out of bed, grabbing his slippers and putting oh his robe. He muttered. "They are the ones who wanted the dog and look what fool got stuck taking care of it. Come on mutt." He called to the dog. He slowly walked down the stairs, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. The puppy followed at his feet, biting them occasionally. "Would you cut it out?" He grabbed the leash and hooked it on the dog's collar. He opened the door and thrust the leash into Johnny's direction. "Here take it for a walk." Before Johnny could protest, the door was slam shut. He was halfway into his room when the noise that was before, was replaced by the most annoying screech he'd ever heard. "Soonnnny." Came the noise from the bed. "I thought you took it out?" "I did..." "Did you make poor Johnny do it?" "Yeah..." "Sonny!" "What?" "She wants you to do it." "I'm not going to walk the damn mutt at 3 in the morning!" "You will if you want back in this bed!" She threatened. She finally looked up at Sonny and noticed the look of disbelief. "Don't think I will? Try me." He left without a sound. Next Morning. "Good Morning." Carly breezed down the stairs, cheerfully. "You must have got a lot of sleep." Sonny asked, envious, who appeared to be oh, somewhat tired. "Yeah actually I did." Carly said, noting that Sonny indeed looked tired. "Did you?" She questioned innocently. "Shut up." "Aw, is poor Sonny tired? Did the little puppy tire you out?" She said in a baby voice. "Yeah well after its walk, she decided it would be "fun" to attack me. Look!" He said rolling up his sleeves sticking out his arms to reveal little red scratches that trailed up and down his arm. " IT marked me!" She stifled a laugh as Courtney came down. "What marked you?" "The puppy." Carly answered. "Hahahahahhaha!" Courtney laughed. "It's not funny!" Sonny said, hurt. "I'm sorry." Courtney said, between laughs. "But it is." That caused Carly to laugh, which made Courtney laugh harder. "That's right." Sonny said getting up from the table. "You two laugh it up. While you stand there making fun of my misfortune, I have a job to get to." He quickly kissed the both of them and with that he was gone. "Puppy!" Carly yelled calling the dog, when she stopped laughing. "Pup-! We need to give that dog a name." She faced Courtney who nodded her head in agreement. Courtney grabbed a piece of bacon and yelled, "Food!" The pup came running down the stairs. "Here you go." She patted the dog's head. "I'm sorry, puppy. It has no fat or grease or any good stuff like that. Sonny made it." Carly said sympathetically. When the dog was done eating, she picked it up, and looked at it. "Let's name it FiFi." Courtney piped in. "Ew, no. Sounds like something Lexi would name her dog." "Who?" "Sonny's attorney...don't get me started on her." "Oh...well anyway I'm not crazy about that name, but it would drive Sonny up the wall." Courtney smiled a tad bit devilishly Carly looked at her, astounded. "You learn well."
