| Crying...in the name of love | ||||||
| I was shocked to see my beloved Niles crying on the sofa, his knees buckled up, his expression l like a little child's. I had just came home from running some errands and I didn't know he had come to my flat. "Niles, what's wrong?" I tenderly, but worriedly asked him. He looks up, his tear-stained face looking even more childish and juvenile. "I can't believe what those men yelled at me...!" he mumbled, in a frustrating tone. "Who said what to you, Niles?" I coax him. "I just went to get a latte at Nervosa and some brash young man yelled to me, "Incest Committer! Niles Crane is a sinner who dates his brother!" I was in a more deeper state of shock. "You didn't tell him about our relationship, Niles?" I ask. "No, it's just...he said something like that he knew it all along...." Niles sniffs, looking even more helpless. I give him a tissue and wipe his tears off his face. "What if Dad finds out? What if he finds out we are dating each other?" he trembles, his tissue, crumpling out of his hand. I pick up the tissue and toss it in the dust bin. "Shh...Niles...everything will be all right. Dad doesn't know now and he never will know. If all else fails, we can bribe the people at Nervosa...we damn right contribute to their profits...," I strongly declared, stroking Niles' blonde hair. "I guess that might work," he replies weakly. "Do you want something to drink?" I ask Niles, now weary of any explanation. "Some hot chocolate would be nice....," he purrs in a kitten-like tone. I make him the hot chocolate and give it to him. It's his secret comfort drink; hot chocolate with fudge sauce, whipped cream and marshmallows. He takes a sip out of the steaming hot drink. "How's that, dear Niles?" I ask, putting my arm around him gently. "Much better," he tells me. I glance at the clock; it is already a quarter past nine. "You can spend the night here, Niles, if you want to," I suggest to Niles. "What about Dad?" Niles asks, slightly frightened. I chuckle. "He's on a poker trip with his friends, remember?" "Ahh...yes." I invited Niles to sleep in my room, just like we did when we were kids. Since my bed was a little too small for both of us, we decided to both sleep on the floor in sleeping bags. I set up the sleeping area by putting numerous warm, cosy blankets, then, I laid the sleeping bags down. I also gave us some warm, fluffly, velvety soft blankets to cuddle with. After we were done preparing for bed, I kiss him on the forehead. "'Night, Niles," I tell him. He tugs at my pyjama sleeves. He knows that's not enough. I softly kiss him on the lips...as we say our "Good Nights." |
