Against the World
They were bruised and hurt. Not physically, but emotionally. They felt as if the entire world was

crashing down on top of them. Everyone seemed like their enemy. Frasier Crane and Niles Crane only
had each other.

Their cries of despair echoed hopelessly into the dreary Seattle sky. Their tears could flood

numerous oceans, but no one realised that they were drowning. Only the taunts of condemnation

awaited the two men. However, they felt their situation was justified. They wanted the world to look

beyond their relationship. Yet, nobody  seemed to understand them.

Frasier hugged his brother Niles tightly. "I'm here, Niles. I'll be with you. It's OK," he reassured him.

Even Frasier's eyes welled up with tears. Niles held on to Frasier tighter and replied, "Frasier, I love

you. No matter what anybody says about us, I will always be there for you."

Their mother had passed away, and their father never truly cared about them. But Frasier and

Niles' situation was different from the standard "my parents didn't give a damn about me" tale. Their

father and many others around them didn't understand. Their brothers kept their relationship a secret,
but they couldn't stop the number of rumours that were circulating around them.

The brothers knew that their wounds would never heal. They could comfort each other, kiss, hug,

drink sherry and such with each other, but those were only pain relievers. They could only temporarily

numb the pain; the wounds themselves, however, could never disappear.

Wherever they were, as long as the two brothers were alone, that location became their safe

haven. So again, just as any other teary night, they slept in a large sleeping bag, covered in countless

blankets. They knew that the next day would bring more challenges. However, they wanted to stay in a

state of slumber as long as possible. At least, nobody could threaten them in their dreams.
