My first attempt at prime focus astrophotography. An obvious object to start out with. Some blurring due to tracking and balance problem (operator error).

Celestron C8 SCT (AS-SGT), Pentax K-1000 35mm,
Kodak Max 800 film at prime focus, 5 minutes.

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I have always been interested in astronomy since I was a kid watching the Skylab flyovers. I have only been serious since around August of 2003 during the Mars encounter.. I realized that the scope I received for Xmas 2002 was not going to do the job (Tasco 60mm Luminova "650x") when attempted views of Jupiter looked like a bright white blob. After some serious re-evaluation about what scope would best suit my needs, I settled on a Celestron C8 Advanced Series SGT which I purchased in June of 2003 and received the first week of August 2003. This has been a very good investment for me and have been very pleased with it's performance. I have added various accessories for visual observing, afocal photography for my Olympus C-2100 (digital) and Pentax K-1000 (35mm), and prime focus/piggyback astrophotography. These items are all listed on My Equipment page. I am not, by all means, a skilled astrophotographer or astonomer, but this hobby is one I thoroughly enjoy.
