"I am writing to you in the hope that I may clean up a situation that is, to me, clearly unacceptable, and certainly baffling. I contacted NHBI [National Home Business Inc.] in January regarding their program of "Internet Consultant", that they have advertised through e-mail. After discussion with their representatives, I signed on to their program, with very different ideas as to the content. Having no available cash to participate in the program, I agreed to lease the equipment through Leasecomm. Upon inspection of this equipment, I realized that what NHBI had leased to me was not what I believed to have signed up for. I subsequently contacted both NHBI and Leasecomm to notify them of what I believed was a misrepresentation by NHBI. I stated that I did not receive support that NHBI promised. I also believed that I would be able to return the equipment, and that I stated my willingness to mail this equipment at my own cost.

After a period of almost a month, without any prior notification from Leasecomm, I found that $131.25 was taken from my checking account. I was informed that Leasecomm Legal Dept. had ruled against me, and was moving to a judgement based on my signature on the lease form, and the phone call from their representative. I have made inquiries to Leasecomm to effect a "buyout" of this lease, based on their statements that my credit rating would be affected by their action. Nonetheless I have no intention of activating the equipment that NHBI has sent me. I reiterate my offer to send this equipment to NHBI, or Leasecomm, at my own expense. The equipment is something that I find worthless, but that Leasecomm and NHBI want me to pay $4,291.12 to effect a buyout. (I have since had another payment of $137.25 taken from my checking account.) …"

NOTE: NHBI, National Home Business, actually went out of business. Those who signed the lease for a fraudulent home business opportunity are forced to continue to pay Leasecomm even though they didn't get what they were promised. Another company that comes up in complaints repeatedly is Cardservice International for merchant credit card processing services.
