Lea's Journey's Home Page
Hi all and Welcome!

I built this site preparing for Bariatric Surgery in hopes that as much as it helps me it might help someone else along the way.  I have been pursuing my surgery for about 3 months now and I have found there is a lot to absorb.  With that in mind I hope that this website will be helpful on your journey.

But first let me tell you a little bit about me

I am happily married for 25 years, to not only my soul mate, but also my very best friend.  We have three children, and 5 grandchildren.  Now to the sad part I am 45 years old and have been over weight most of my adult life.  I have reach an all time high of 260 pounds with a BMI of 45.

I started this journey for several reasons.  The first and most important is my future I WANT TO HAVE ONE!  My hubby and I are at the age that were starting to think about retirement and I want to make sure we do that together.  At the alarming rate Im falling apart health wise I decided to have this surgery to ensure that we sit on the beach, old and wrinkled and tanned, and enjoy our twilight years.  Some of the things I noticed are, Energy. whats that, I have none.  What use to be simple tasks now take an act of congress, we wont even go into tying my shoes.  My liver enzymes go up and down like a merry-go-round.  Im giving a whole new meaning to sweet dreamless, with sleep apnea you dont dream, darn it I want those back, some of them were funlol.  My self image not to mention my self respect is so low, sometimes I feel like no one should love me, why should they, I cant.  And one of the oddest things is there is a stranger looking back at me when I look in the mirror. Oh well anyway, I keep telling myself this will all be a thing of the past, and the future is looking brighter.

Please enjoy this website and I hope it helps.  I will be updating this as I go along so please check back often.
