| Weekly Lesson Planning and Organization To keep track of what is to be accomplished everyday, we went to an office supply store and purchased some inexpensive duotangs that had filing pockets inside it. On the first set of pockets, I labelled them for each day of the week - Monday through Friday. On the pockets following, I labelled them as follows: "Work to be Marked", "Work to be Corrected" and "Work to be filed". Inside each days pocket, I will place the photocopied pages of the days work along with a recipe card that has all additional work written on it. As the days work is completed, it is shifted to the "Work to be Marked" file where I can then go and retrieve it and file it away accordingly - if corrections are needed or it can simply be filed into the appropriate binder. Storing Completed Work For completed work, we use the binder system. The binders are labelled as follows: Science: in this binder we added dividers for each area of study. The Human Body, Space, Characteristics of Flight, Diversity of Living Things, Electricity and Motion. General: This binder houses our Religion and Geography lessons. Language Arts: The dividers here are as follows.. Wordly Wise, Grammar, Creative Writing, Spelling, English Smart, Dictionary, Reading (books read) Math History: Outlines (narrations, pictures etc), Time lines, Daily Life (Food, Dress, Architecture etc) Religion, Cities and Settlements (Maps and cultural Diagrams), Great Men and Women (biography sheet, write up and picture of the person), Vocabulary (Write the word, a synonym, use the word in a sentence) Inventions and Technology (Drawings, pictures, a write up of interesting/important inventions) For More Planning and Organizational tips, go to our "forms" page and print out free copies of our forms!
