HTML is a acronym for Hypertext Markup Language. HTML documents are plain-text files, which can be made in most text editors. Your main page, will be called index.html, this is the name of most home pages on the Internet, but on some servers, there are other names you can use, like on the Vancouver CommunityNet you may also use the name Welcome.html as your home page.
These plain text files are tagged or flagged, whichever you wish to say, with HTML Tags to give the document some formatting like, bolding, centering, Aligning, etc.
