Thoughts, tools and links to help you succeed!

What are some of the things you want to achieve in life?

Financial security, recognition at work, a body that turns heads, perfect health perhaps? We all have different dreams and goals, and 'success' is a concept that differs from one person to the next, but one thing's for sure - we all want to succeed in some area of life.

Why is it then that many of us end up falling short of our goals, and feeling like we've failed?

I've certainly felt this way at times, and know only too well the difficulty in getting up again after having fallen. And I've also had the experience of failing repeatedly in something - trying the same thing over and over again, wondering why the result doesn't change.

What do we need to do succeed?

Recipes for success are many and varied, sometimes quite complex. I'd like to suggest a simple formula that can work in almost any situation, regardless of what it is we are aiming for...

Learn... Act... Achieve!

Make the effort to Learn - learn from your past mistakes, find out what others have done to succeed, spend time researching and/or studying, listen to the advice of those you trust. It's true that luck sometimes brings success (winning the lottery for example), but if you base your hopes and dreams on luck alone, you will most likely end up very disappointed. Success usually requires an effort on our part, but don't let that discourage you - even the path to success can be an exciting and enjoyable journey!

Act upon what you have learned - increasing our knowledge certainly has its benefits, but we will be no closer to the trophy of success without acting upon what we have learned. It can be exciting to read an inspirational book or article on body transformation, but it takes more than reading to bring about the change on a personal level - we need to implement the principals we have learned in order to see results!

The satisfaction of Achievement - there's something wonderful about the feeling you get when you know you have achieved one of your goals. It may have been something quite simple and quick to achieve, or it may have taken longer and required a bigger investment of our time, effort or money - in which case the sense of accomplishment may be greater. And the success often helps inspire and motivate us in pursuing other goals!

Time to start learning, acting & achieving!!
