About the Provider

Hi!  I'm Tammy and I'm 35 years old.   I'm married and the mother of 4 great kids who are 13, 12, 11, and 7.   I started my day care when my second oldest daughter was born in 1988.

My husband, Rill, is a construction worker.  He is constantly building me things for my preschool/daycare.  Poor guy--his "honey do" list never ends!  He's generally not around during preschool/day care hours because he normally works out of town.

Our oldest daughter is 13 and is involved in dance, gymnastics, and swimming.  She'll be in the 8th grade this fall.  Our second-oldest daughter loves volleyball.  She played on a travel team this past year and plans to join again this coming year. She'll be in 7th grade this fall.  Our one and only son  is child number 3.  He lives and breathes hockey.  He's been playing since he was 4 and still enjoys it. He'll be in 6th grade this fall.   Our youngest child is our 7 year old daughter.  She takes swimming lessons and just tried out for and made a competitive dance line.  She's excited to start second grade this fall.  My 2 oldest daughters work for me in my day care during the summer and after school.

I keep myself very busy with running my kids to their various activities. My favorite things to do are spending time with my children and my friends, reading, and CONSTANTLY improving things in my day care.  Professionally, I'm very involved in the child care field in my area.  I am currently the president of our local child care association, the  Stearns-Benton Child Care Association.  Last year, I served as the secretary.  I have both my NAFCC accreditation and my CDA.  Both processes were challenging, but well worth it. I had the honor of being named Provider of the Year  for my county (Stearns)  in 1999.   I graduated from the child care program at Rasmussen College in June of 1999.  I used these classes for my CDA requirements.
