Here are the beginnings of our trip to Saskatchewan - 2003

Leanne  Petey   Maisie

... so we arrived in Saskatchewan on August 30 after driving 20+ hrs from our little apt in WA.  After being awake for more than 42 hours, Leanne and Petey were quite tired... and Maisie insisted on being a part of the snoozing ritual.

Here they all settle in for the night... while I take pictures like a goon.

Maisie REALLY enjoyed hanging out with us... in fact, she whimpered at the door in the morning, anxiously awaiting our rising from a deadass sleep.

This is me... as a farmer... in front of the Provincial Legislature in Regina.  Yes, it rhymes with "cooch".  We felt it was important to take Petey out for some culture.

He pooped on the lawn...

... Leanne picked it up.

Here's Leanne with Pete-the-poop-monster at the garden across from the Legislature.  That's downtown Regina in the background.

And during the whole trip, Petey was asking if he could meet some cows.  Well, he finally got his chance... and he wasn't very impressed by that bovine's stoic expression.

Bronze cows = art?

Petey loves cows...

... Petey loves gophers more.

This was once flat land... newly graded for urban development.  Petey put a stop to that... dug a mammoth pit in search of a little furry friend.

instead, he found his good buddy, Maisie.

Here she's wondering what the hell Petey is doing.  He digs with fervor.

If ya can't beat em... join em.

Maisie aides Petey in his excavating.

But in the end... you're always alone.

I LOVE this picture.  What a dogbutt!

Wag "bye-bye" Petey.

There will be more pictures when the next roll comes back.  Stay tuned.
