Later the Austin family moved to southeastern Missori |

Austin was in charge of the Missouri territorial legislature |

His father Moses Austin died and Stephen Austin got a letter from
his father telling him to bring U.S. settlers into Spanish Texas |

In January he planted the first legal settlement, of
Anglo-Americans in Texas |

He was sent to Mexico City to ask that Texas be departed from
Coahuila and to get the Mexican immigrant law modified |
|
Stephen Austin got caught and went to jail. |

Austin was released |

On his return to Texas he opposed the government of Santa Anna
and forward the Texas revolution |

On December 27,1836 Stephen F. Austin died! |
